The only history taught in basic schools are Ghana and her neighbors.We have only three neighbors which is Togo,Cote D'Ivoire and Burkina Faso.Their capitals cities are only taught and the meaning of ECOWAS,AU and the UN.That's it about Africa,so most Ghanaians hardly know the African communities except maybe Nigeria who are all over the place.

Well,I will say we see America differently although 2 million Ghanaians is grossly over stated.Buh put it as this,90% of Ghanaian emigrants are in the USA alone.We hardly think of any developed country,not even Canada crosses a Ghanaian's mind.And about seeking better living standards,we have it all here.Ghana might seem different from the rest of Africa,our population is bare 30 million,we have every basic infrastructure that we need to support even a 60 million population by African standards,economically we live modestly like the Europeans,we don't gather massive resources by hook or by crook,something simple is very ok,the Nigerians come here in mass and gets surprise with our level of satisfaction upon all the numerous opportunities and ability to make it big in a little populated country and mistakenly see us as lazy,they come here both their rich and poor and it's like Europe to them,they say we're too gentle and slow buh very friendly.Education,health,electricity,water roads,food and business opportunities are abound to tap in in all the towns.Even about 80% of our rural areas have electricity and good water projects and basic facilities.It's best if we travel to USA and UK,get world recognized certificates and come back to the government agencies and private institutions.That's the normal motives.And we know very little or nothing about Africa especially our younger ones.Most younger Ghanaians have never heard of Ethiopia,Tanzania,even Kenya and most of Africa.We hope to change that

Even the great german and british want to emigrate to america. American has a splendour not find in any part of the world. These are some of the few reasons while any national we want to migrate to the USA .

1 They are more diverse and multicultural, so that an immigrant has a better chance of being truly accepted as belonging to the nation.

2 They have more opportunities in some industries.
For a privileged person, the “American Dream” of living in a big house and being able to afford material luxury is best pursued in America. (Not so for the less privileged, but if you actually have a choice of immigrating to either the US or Germany, you’re probably pretty privileged.)



just check the number of cars used by averaged American. and compare it to the rest of the world. who will not be willing to migrate there.
