rvp20183: Gikomba is something to be ashamed of; It like kibera slums. It a sign of underdevelopment. For nigeria such flea markets are badges of honour. So such markets is what he is bragging of having the largest markets in Africa I never he meant that |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by tylann: 4:22pm On Jan 10, 2019 |
I must consult with rvp20183 Is it true malls are not a sign of development |

rvp20183: You're indeed illiterate as suffernSmilling won't say. I see you guys referring to informal trade - as if it was something to be proud of. We have largest flea or farmers market :? We have petty traders in Ghana? We have user motor car spare dealers all over west africa.
All that is NONSENSE - categorized under BLACK or INFORMAL market.
NO country has ever developed from such nonsense. That is why Nigeria tax collection is nearly zero.
Kindly go back to school - all of you - and then start formalizing your economy. Should i also say we have gikomba market or am i wrong |

Danielnino00: Kano has one of the biggest commercial markets in sub Sahara Africa... Ibadan also has an industrial estate and housing estates..
Having malls isn't a sign of development my friend ..the city of Ibadan alone has seven malls!! Try something else..
What else do the other cities (or towns have? Malls contribute alot to economies of towns or cities Malls are sign of a progressive society Okay i will not mention malls They are also tourist centres and have good hospitality industry |

Ibrahimanis: There is nothing to be jealous about.
Apapa port in Lagos has an install capacity of 1.2million teu per year. Handles 25million tons of cargo per year. What is that of Mombasa?
Anyway even if Mombasa handles more than apapa, that's because you have no other option. Apart from Mombasa port which other active port do you have?
Compare these two pictures and tell me why I should be jealous. You are consoling yourself now And you are wrong even if you combine all your ports Mombasa port still beats them |

rvp20183: I am not expert in Nigeria history but I know the main motivation for northern misleaders of Nigeria moving to Abuja was to be comfortable. I think the move from Lagos to Abuja happened after Orkar coup in 1991. I am positive Sani Abacha was key player then. It was sani abacha who built the gwarimpa estate in abuja He also died fcking indian hoes |

Danielnino00: Would you mind explaining what Nakuru,Eldoret,Kisumu and Nyeri have that contributes significantly to Kenya's economy?
for example, Port Harcourt and Warri have a sizeable portion of our oil rigs...
Aba and Onitsha have the biggest markets in Africa
Ibadan and Kano are heavy commercialized areas ... etc etc... What do you mean by Ibadan and kano are heavily commercialized Nakuru eldoret nyeri kisumu They are agro processing centres , commercial centres and have malls I must just include malls because only south Africa beats us in that sector |

Danielnino00: Seriously, if we take Nairobi out of Kenya, what does the rest of the country become??
How evenly spread is the development in Kenya? I'm not talking about just roads and electricity oo..But industrialization too....
If we take Lagos away from Nigeria, we still have Abuja that's the political capital ..We still have Ogun state that's has nearly more industries than Lagos... We still have cities like Ibadan,Aba,Onitsha,Kano,Enugu and Owerri with a lot of industries too... We have calabar thats the tourist capital... Further down south, there's Uyo,Port Harcourt, Asaba,Warri, and Benin city... Heck! even Kaduna and Jos can boast of one or two industries..
I'll be really glad if the Kenyans can list other cities (or towns or whatever) in their country that has a strong economic influence apart from Nairobi... We have Mombasa which has the second busiest port in Africa We have thika Kenya's industrial town We have Nakuru We have eldoret We have kisumu We have nyeri |

Ibrahimanis: Say what you want smart nigga. The fact remains Kenya is in debt crisis, more than Nigeria. A certain percentage of our debt was written off because of some major reforms done by the government. If your government can do the same, maybe yours will be written off too. If not, prepare to build another port because China is coming for Mombasa port. (or you can use Tanzania's port for a fee). The ball is in your court smart nigga. Are you consoling yourself Who told you we are in debt cisis ? We are paying our debts and we are not struggling Your are jealous of our port mombasa because no nigerian port can handle half of the capacity mombasa port handles continue dreaming of china taking our port citizen of the world poverty capital And we are building another port in lamu Jealous will kill you citizen of world poverty capital |

NairobiWalker: It's still in Nairobi. You love excuses - I posted photos of neighborhoods far from the CBD and you instead responding by searching the shitty areas of Nairobi and posting them. You're obviously not honest with your questions. You keep shifting the goals. It doesn't matter - I can even post photos of streets tens of kilometres from the CBD and you'll come up with another issue. The guy asked for nairobi street views apart from cbd when you gave him he started posting pictures of kenyan slums He is a clown |

Goel: Well, what could I say if you're going to ignore.
Le'm introduce myself because I haven't earlier. I'm a professional pressure equipment related technology engineer from India and research about geopolitical, military technology and economic issues is my hobby.
I had been with a lot of Pakistanis, Chinese, Russians, SE Asians, Iranians, Arabs, Latinos, Europeans & Americans, learning a lot about their countries and teaching them about mine.
This time, I thought of watching Africa. South Africa and Nigeria are to countries most Indians know about. As RSA is mixed with white ethnics and Indians a lot, I came here instead. I know that you guys got elections soon and wanted to learn about Bihari and Atiku from you guys.
But most on this forum don't hold much of logics or info. Seems like from threads I've watched at least. They don't know about economics specially. I can offer a much better discussion with a pool of information. What are you talking about ? |

Jonraid: Increased expansion of Kenyan banks to the East African region is expected in the year which would possibly lead to increased performance, according to Oxford Business Group.
At the start of 2018, nine Kenyan lenders operated a total of 306 subsidiaries in EAC up from 297 a year earlier.
Equity Bank led in the region with 104 locations in five countries. Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) operated 70 branches in three countries, while KCB group had 60 branches in five member states.
According to the report, this was pushed by Nairobi’s status as an advanced financial centre, helping some of larger banks establish a successful presence in regional markets.
Uganda still remained the home of highest number of branches, accounting for 102 locations, followed by Tanzania (81) and Rwanda (55).
“Of course the expansion trend will continue in 2019 due to interrogation for investment in the region,” Kenya Bankers Association chief executive Habil Olaka said.
