The diesel plants are the cheapest to construct but the most expensive to operate.


The plant constructed by Fashola is gas powered and was meant to replace a series of 150 diesel generators that dot the Alausa complex and even at 10mw was 15 MW less than the required 25 MW.


As usual with fashole the project was constructed in phases with a commitment to meet the shortfall of 15 MW which he never completed just like his lagos rail, lekki port, lekki airport and lagos cable car projects.
