Last night’s Ukrainian attack in Western Russia was the “most brazen” one by Kyiv since the start of the so-called special military operation which began last February, according to Al Jazeera’s Dorsa Jabbari.

“All four major airports in Moscow region were shut down following the attack, though they have since reopened,” Jabbari reported from St Petersburg.

“Officials say the main attack took place in Pskov, 300km [186 miles] southwest of St Petersburg and the Pskov airport was shut down as its runway was damaged.”

The Kremlin says Russian President Vladimir Putin has been informed of the drone attack on Pskov, the Russian Tass news agency reported.

The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, said, “Of course, with regard to such massive attacks, information is also immediately brought to the attention of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief”.

Peskov called the latest drone strikes a continuation of the “terrorist activity of the Kyiv regime.”

“The vast majority of drones fly into civilian targets. We continue and will continue the air defence system in order to eradicate such a threat to us,” he added.

Ukrainian drones ‘will not go unpunished’: Russia

Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says a wave of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory overnight “will not go unpunished”.

Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the drones, some of which struck an airbase in Pskov, 600km (400 miles) from Ukraine, could not have covered such distances without information from Western countries.

Good day my people, I decided to share my experienced how I successfully & happily fuel my car & wife own easily without looking at gauge with full tank 24/7.
firstly after the removal of subsidy it wasn't easy, fueling my both cars 2.2L & 2.4L engine with 70 liters tank capacity, Initially I was buying fuel 12k for 20 liters it will just be around 3/4 on the gauge, few days drive it will drop drastically I was just angry, complaining spending much on cars thinking the fuels are burning faster which is not true.

Few weeks later I decided to study my cars & estimate my fuel usage on weekly basic, I realized with the elimination of hold-up in Port-Harcourt roads, changing of my pattern of driving I now spent (10) litres of fuel weekly driving to work, I decided to full the 70 liter tank installmentally which cost me N41,370 so I can control the usage subsequently which am doing.

What I does now is every two weeks by Friday I re-filled the tank with N12k approximate (20) liters to maintain my full tank at all time, this alone has relieve me alot and you may give it a try.

Finally through this era two things I don't do are firstly I don't give mechanic my cars to work without me being around and secondly I don't borrow anybody my car is either I drive you or give you TP.

His actions set the stage for a legal journey that led H.E Atiku Abubakar to seek jurisdiction from the US court. The United States District Court has determined that it holds jurisdiction over the matter, aligning with US laws that authorize document discovery from individuals or entities residing within its district for foreign proceedings.

Forgery Allegations and Diplomas in Question: At the heart of this matter lie allegations of forgery. Enahoro-Ebah alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented a forged CSU diploma, dated June 22, 1979, among other inconsistencies, as part of his filing to run for President. H.E Atiku Abubakar’s court papers assert that CSU’s Registrar, Mr. Caleb Westberg responded to a subpoena, providing documents including a CSU diploma dated June 27, 1979. The distinctions between these diplomas, from seals to fonts, raise substantial doubts about their authenticity.

Inconsistencies Unveiled: The documents produced by CSU expose perplexing disparities. While Tinubu claimed to be solely a Nigerian citizen, the CSU documents portray a U.S. citizen named “Bola Tinubu.” Similarly, the birth year conflicts between the CSU records (1954) and Tinubu’s information to INEC (1952) further deepen the intrigue. The divergent narratives even extend to the gender of the individual described in the CSU transcripts.

Educational Background Scrutinized: A spotlight is cast on Tinubu’s educational background. The discrepancy between the CSU documents and Tinubu’s claims of graduating from Government College, Lagos, in 1970 adds another layer of complexity. The inconsistencies challenge the credibility of the information submitted to INEC.

His Excellency Atiku Abubakar’s Application for Document Verification: Building upon these disparities, Atiku’s legal team petitioned the US court for an order to compel CSU to release and authenticate the documents in question. By meeting the statutory criteria and satisfying the court’s requisites, Atiku has positioned himself as an “interested person” to warrant a potential victory.

Anticipated Outcome: The court’s assessment of jurisdiction and compliance with legal norms has paved the way for a potential turning point in this matter. With Atiku fulfilling the necessary criteria and CSU’s status as a public university under Illinois law, the court seems inclined to grant Atiku’s requests, signaling an impending chapter in this unfolding drama.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a swift reaction has employed the services of a defense attorney in the US to prevent the court from granting Atiku’s request on Chicago State University.

The District Court for the Northern District of Illinois gave a deadline of August 23rd , 2023 for Tinubu to file his arguments on why his records should not be released.

Amidst the hike in cost of living brought about by the removal on Premium Motor Spirit popularly known has petrol which has led to a corresponding increase in fuel prices, the Presidency on Tuesday said Nigeria is currently the only country in West Africa enjoying the cheapest and most affordable price of PMS.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, told State House correspondents that daily consumption of fuel has dropped from 67M litres to 46M litres following the removal of subsidy.

Ngelale, who noted that he spoke to the President on Tuesday morning, noted that the President urged stakeholders in the country to hold their peace while adding that the threats of an indefinite strike by the organized labour was premature.

He said, “The President wishes first to state that it is incumbent upon all stakeholders in the country to hold their peace. We have heard very recently from the organised labour movement in the country with respect to their most recent threat.

“We believe that the threat was premature and that there is a need on all sides to ensure that fact finding and diligence is done on what the current state of the downstream and midstream petroleum industry is before any threats or conclusions are arrived at or issued.Secondly, Mr. President, wishes to assure Nigerians following the announcement by the NNPC limited just yesterday that there will be no increase in the pump price of petroleum motor spirit anywhere in the country. We repeat, the president affirms that there will be no increase in the pump price of petroleum motor spirit.”

Speaking further, Ajuri noted that the market having been deregulated would no longer allow a single entity to dominate the market.

“The market has been deregulated. It has been liberalized and we are moving forward in that direction without looking back.

“The President also wishes to affirm that there are presently inefficiencies within the midstream and downstream petroleum sub sectors that once very swiftly addressed and cleaned up will ensure that we can maintain prices where they are without having to resort to a reversal of this administration’s deregulation policy in the petroleum industry.”

Ngelale also noted that Tinubu approved that the chart containing prices of PMS in other countries be transmitted to Nigerians so as to show the cost of PMS in West African countries.

He added, “Senegal at pump price today of N1,273 equivalent per liter, Guinea at N1,075 per liter, Côte d’ Ivore at N1,048 per litre equivalent in their currency, Mali N1,113 per litre, Central African Republic N1,414 per litre, Nigeria is presently averaging between N568 and N630 per litre.

“We are presently the cheapest, most affordable purchasing state in the West African sub-region by some distance. There is no country that is below N700 per liter.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, in a post around 11.48pm on Monday on its official X (formerly Twitter) said it had no intention to increase the pump price of petrol.
