In Myth, Literature, and the African World, Wole Soyinka discusses how myth, and ritual form the bases of African literature.

And in the appendix, The Fourth Stage, Wole Soyinka further says in the African cosmos, there are four stages or worlds: the world of the unborn, the world of the living, the world of the dead, and the chthonic realm.

Wole Soyinka calls the chthonic realm the home of the tragic spirits. He also says if any member of any of the stages or worlds falls short, he or she falls into the chthonic realm.

This is Wole Soyinka's theory about how African deities like Ogun and Obatala are the patrons of African literature. It is easy for Europeans to dismiss the existence of African literature and to think that the patrons of literature are Greek gods such as Dionysus, the Greek god of fertility and wine. Wole Soyinka in this book shows how the journey of Ogun, the god of wine and fertility, and other gods to reunite with humans, which was fraught with suffering as Ogun needed to clear the thick forest standing as an obstacle, gave birth to African tragedy.

Wole Soyinka using Yorùbá mythology, in his theory of African literature titled Myth, Literature, and the African World: The Fourth Stage, has been able to prove that there is African literature rooted in African myth.

There is more to the book, though.
OK thanks

These days I see people joining cultism because of the fun of it as most people are concentrated on doing fraud.
I also noticed that the size of nbm in almost every zone has doubled its number over the decade.
Some of you guys might not be aware, Yahoo Yahoo is a gateway to cultism. You hardly get the latest fmt on ground without belonging to one cartel or squad as they are seen in their numbers.

Have you asked yourself, you as a lowkey flexing rich cultist if any problem arises within your frat and anoda frat issues will you be spared?

I lost a friend of mine sometimes in 2018. He was killed in his home state ( IMO). He traveled to IMO to spend few weekends in an hotel after a large cash out.

He did not join nbm while in school tho, he joined in 2013 at owerri before moving to aba.... One of the old goons in fraud back then. I met him in Aba where I stayed with my cousin. A friend introduced him to me and we got along well. He talked so long and I asked him why he decided to join nbm after school and why not play it in his school then ( imsu).

He said cultism was the least on his mind back then though he fancied them. He had wanted to join BAN at a time but staying with his parents was not easy. Along the line he graduated and left for NYSC then he met sm1 hu introduced him to Yahoo. The friend spoke so much of travelling to Malaysia if he finishes that his guys hu left school to face hustle are on the other side making it big.

So after much persuasion he made his mind to belong which he was able to raise a lot of cash as blending fee. He started making money so fast in 2014 and moved to Ghana before moving to Malaysia. He was also into drug dealings later on the line and when things went south he returned to Nigeria in 2017.

He came back to Nigeria and started recruiting boys to start in his line mostly undergraduate who where sound but one thing was clear that they must belong to nbm. In order for increase in secrecy of operations, trust and godfatherism over them.

So we linked up again together smtymes in 3 years ago we went flexing in the company of other lords. He was already used to the ayes in Abia but had few knowledge of nbm in IMO.

The day he made a large cash out from his dealings he went alone to owerri the mistake he made, he thought that everything was cool and that was the period nbm had issues with bagas. Vikings were cramping down any axeman as reorisal. He was shot outside the hotel he died on the spot.

Till today, we dont know how the Vikings got to know that he was an axeman. Maybe he had been loud or some of his so called childhood friends who were jealous of him got to know about his involvements and killed him.

No investigation was made about that, his mother came with the relatives to carry his body and we didn't even attend the burial. All man for himself, I had already faced my life and wasn't interested in anybody's problems.

We had dropped anything fight since our secondary and tertiary school days. Besides everyone was trying to live a lowkey life going tj what gives him money.

I still remember some who left school back then and couldn't graduate. Some are in police custody till now, some are in the ground 6ft. Some are successful in various companies or the other just like myself.

I decided a total change of life a year ago even though I was still into heavy smoking and housing or aiding temple ayes in times of war after higher institution.

For those asking how to denounce cultism;
It is safer and better you dont join. If per adventure you join either by mistake that you were lured the best thing to do as it is early is to leave the school system. Change your institution.

You can also buy your way out but its a very huge some trust me after every regime they would still come back and collect their yearly pay from you as new heads would arise.
If you graduated and became a lord by no means should you go back or honor any invitation in your T. Disassociate yourself from every nbm convention. Try to give your life to God. Become devoted spiritually.

Sometimes I find it hard to move around Aba because I must run into one old school mate or the other. Either rival or member. Member always asking for money. Wanting to know where you stay and above everything want to identify publicly with you.

Rivals trying to challenge you unnecessary to see if you can pick a fight from them.

Few occasions when I was driving I saw one of my old axe head with some old lords (drinking at a restaurant) I remembered my way was no longer their way so I decided to keep driving forward.

Imagine coming back from your villa, home, campus, class, and you notice sm ppl following you or calling your name just to identify you for no reason. You can be going to get something and see someone walking fast or closer to you in the presence of your friends/course mates you leave suspiciously and then run away. Lol.
You may not know what one of your squad member or cult member has just gone about few minutes ago.
One of the problems we had with vikings was that they acted so fast to any problem. If you here that an axeman fall a Viking guy, the news might have already circulated to all bagas. We got to know that most bagas then moved with knifes/daggers so we were warned to always be fortified at all times.

TBC... (Arinze ordeal)
But what can you say about famous musicians and celebrities that are into cultism? Will nothing happen to them?

Crime › Re: Why You Shouldn’t Just Say No To Cultism But Flee From The Enticing Monster by Ucee1999: 7:18am On Aug 27, 2020
Nksleek:
WHY YOU SHOULDN’T JUST SAY NO TO CULTISM BUT FLEE FROM THE ENTICING MONSTER.

I am not unaware that the various cult groups may have very high ranking members who with a snap of their fingers can order for my head but posterity shall not forgive me if I fail to acknowledge Wong Box and dedicate this piece to the social media page for the concerted efforts on sensitization towards curbing the recent suspected cult killings ravaging our dear state thus far. Thank you.

Cultism is a sweet tale that gets sour and eventually turns bitter to the detriment of oneself and the society. You can read that again.

If you already belonged and you are reading this piece, this is may not appeal to you because you may likely pick offense at the myths been demystified. You know how true they are but the ego will not let you acknowledge hence, this piece is for youngsters who may be under pressure to belong, urging them not to throw in the towel but flee to save themselves from eventual death or life full of regrets.

You see, I did a report about a young father of two that was recently murdered a day after celebrating his birthday by suspected cultists at a Limpopo bar situated somewhere in Asaba and the gory photos from the incident had kept me heavy hearted since then. I felt pity for his family and two kids who will be denied fatherly love from now on. Did you see the YouTube video he made with two others on his birthday before getting killed the next day? OMG! I can’t blame him for dying dishonorably like a chicken. I blame the sweet tale enticing monster, cultism that’s lurking around to claim it’s next victim who may be saved by a decision made from this post.

However, before the Asaba killings came to limelight, there were also cases of clashes leading to lost of lives and setting of cars ablaze in Sapele but the reports could not be authenticated because there were neither photos nor video evidences to that effect and were thus discarded.

WHY YOU SHOULDN’T JUST SAY NO TO CULTISM BUT FLEE FROM ANY SLIGHT TALE OF IT.

One of my favorite motivational quotes that centered on the law of association states that when you follow five people of a certain trait, the probability of becoming the sixth one of the same behavior is very high. I can’t become a cultist is a mere talk that leads to mistaken identity when you keep a company that belongs. Ever wondered why some areas and states are dominated by a particular cult group? that’s the law of association cum culture displayed.

As lame as it may seem to those still engrossed in the act, Cultism leaves you vulnerable and dependent at old age. That’s one of the reasons that older cult members that had escaped the clutches of the sweet tale monster refuse to associate with younger members of the cult they once belonged to. I read a post that struck me recently and it said, “Ten years in cultism, no car, no house, no achievements. Just scars and bullet marks, why not quit?”. Who wouldn’t quit when mates are excelling and all you have to show for existence is countless scars from fights and tales of the several times you have escaped death. Many give up cultism at old age only to end up as a bunch of liabilities with entitlement mentalities of dependence and when frustration sets in as a result of unmet expectations, your guess of an unfulfilled life becomes as good as mine. Please quit.

CULTISM HAS NEVER AND CAN NEVER GUARANTEE PROTECTION. Don’t be deceived.

I laugh out very loud not because I find it amusing but because it is sheer stupidity for someone to be enticed into the sweet tale monster that promises protection. Have you ever seen how remorseful a cultist is when outnumbered by rival cultists before? You may really need to reconsider becoming a member. Or should we ask where then is the protection when members of the same cult group that swore to protect each other, mobilizes to maim and kill themselves for a quest best known to them?

THE UNKNOWN AND SOMETIMES NEVER TO BE MET ENEMIES.

No matter how large your cult group can boast of in membership, a combination of the population of all other cult groups supersedes your number and outweighs the influence posed. This should have been number one reason why you should flee from the sweet tale monster but there’s a reason for leaving it last. Patience is a virtue. The day you choose to take the path of the sweet tale monster is the day that you have chosen to become an enemy to the countless thousands of people belonging to other groups and not excluding the security agents always beaming their searchlight to halt nefarious activities. You become enemy to rival cultists you know and those you don’t know and will never meet. You fret at the mere sight of their presence, not because you have had any encounter with them before but because your hand has being soiled. That’s why the anthem becomes “I am not a cultist” whenever they are surrounded by unfamiliar people some of whom may even be fellow cult members. They are not only victims of the fear of the unknown, some become slaves of inferiority complex when permanent residency becomes a factor.

No cult group ever holds sway or dominates all region. It’s a continuous battle of supremacy and if you are not aware, let it be known that the more influence a confraternity wields in dominance, the more members it loses. I will make an illustration to buttress and conclude.

In a society that has four cult groups with cult A in dominance, more members of dominating cult A will likely lose their lives because they become easy targets for the others combined. They may end up winning individual battles and losing wars in the long run. So when next you are tempted to belong because the cult group commands respect due to large membership, let it sink into you that, “na we dey run things for this area” is simply an invitation to become an easy target to hit when the clashes begin.

Akpomedawaro Ike
(CEO, Kamanication Media)
But what about people like wizkid, davido and popular celebrities that belongs to a confraternity nko? Are they going to regret it at old age?

Aside corporate offices and opportunities which are now nonexistent, life here is hard, brutish and unworthy.

Securing a good paying graduate job here is extremely difficult.

What you are saying ain't true bro, I disagree totally with what you just said. There is something called amazing grace and divine favour, just connect your life into that realm of grace and I bet you, your life can never remain the same.
