u know something i've come to realize reading thru this thread, ?Some people here are so ungrateful to God, U boast and sound like whatever u have achieved has been by your own power, well guess what, huh?We are all nothing without God's mercy, Everybody wants to work with NLNG but how many of us here wake up everymorning and remember to thank God for where u are today,,??There are lots of people out there with better degrees than most of us here but they are either dead, frustrated or too sick to notice the world around them, some dont even have half the opportunities we have , Brothers, ,Sisters, Friends, ,As we wait for NLNG , let us please learn to appreciate God for every day we wake up to see a new day, Cos believe me no matter how cool or ok ur life is ryt now, ,it cud have been far worse if not for God, Dont think cos u made 1st class or 2.1 u have it all, it can all go wrong in a twinkle of an eye if not for his mercies, pls lets learn to humble ourselves and realize , it is God that makes us what we become,

?

I totally agree with wat u said abt NLNG and politicking, its true, Na naija na, even them know, but like u said, we must now pray without ceasing,

A friend actually told me abt an incident i will relate here, he said that afta d 2nd stage test, he got someone to help him check weda he passed, On checking on the friday, ,d guy called him and said he made it and that his name was on the list, But on Monday of the next week wen the guy that works in LNG(doh in bonny but in lagos during the period), got to sanusi fafunwa to collect the letter, ,my guys name was no longer on the list, According to my friend d LNG staff said he was told that my friend's name was dropped due to quota , but I wonder,

@everybody, for the fact that we made it this far despite the politicking is worth thanking God for, And that is why @Opoks my faith is so strong, God knows all dat ius best for us and he will do same for us,
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by uche7869: 2:49pm On Oct 08, 2007
But what of the LNG we are talkin about?Lng Is not the same as the natural gas.LNG is liquefied natural gas,

This is natural gas that has been supercooled to
minus 260 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 162 degrees Celcius). At that temperature, natural gas condenses into a liquid. When in liquid form, natural gas takes up to 600 times less space than in its gaseous state, which makes it feasible to transport over long distances.

In the form of LNG, natural gas can be shipped from the parts of the world where it is abundant to where it is in demand.

LNG is an energy source that has much lower air emissions than other fossil fuels, such as oil or coal.

LNG is odorless, colorless, non-corrosive and non-toxic. Its weight is less than one-half that of water.

Ref:http://www.sempralng.com/Pages/About/WhatIsLNG.htm

When it comes to corporate social responsibility, ,from what i read on the company's site and what i heard from people i've asked, , I think LNG is one of the few multinationals that actually gives back to its host community, I visited the page recently and the names of undergraduates who had been awarded the LNG scholarship for 2007 was there, most of them were from bonny or sorrounding communities, Also i hear NLNG is planning to give the bonny town free uninterrupted electricity very soon,
so thats mainly what I know about NLNG and its operations, Also i hear they send the graduate trainees on a 6months training programme to the U.K, I dont know weda its everybody or only the engineers and techniciand doh,

I was told during a chat with a staff of the coy that the only constraint facing the company in the near future may be in terms of expansion. He mentioned the fact that bonny was an island and that the gas resources though bountiful were not limitless, Infact nigeria's gas reserves are projected to last about 120yrs, what happens after that??

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by uche7869: 2:38pm On Oct 08, 2007
@Kuwena, Broda, i buy ur suggestion, Actually the major reason NLNG was established was to harness Nigeria's vast natural gas resources as we all know, Nigeria actually has more gas reserves than Oil and is ranked as the highest flarer of natural gas in the world, A very sad spectacle, NLNG is also supposed to along with Producing LNG, ,Help drastically reduce Nigeria's flaring records as the asssociated gas from oil wells which is what is usually flared is to be piped to the bonny plant for liqefaction, This is what most of the shgareholders are currently doing,

(Ref: www.wikipedia.org)

NLNG started with Train2 and quickly expanded to the current 5 train complex with a production capacity of 18MTPA(million tonnes per annum) of LNG.The coming on stream of Train 6, which should happen anytime from now according to forecast will upgrade total production output to 22MTPA, Already all the LNG expected from this train has already been booked for, NLNG is also planning a Train 7, Final investment decision on this train 7 should be completed by the year's end. When this train 7 comes on stream.,it wilL BE THE SINGLE LARGEST LNG TRAIN IN THE WORLD, Making NLNG plant at bonny one of the world's largest LNG plants,

Natural gas is like the latest and most amazing discovery of the energy sector, why because it it the cleanest burning fossil fuel, burning with virtually no emissions

Ref: www.naturalgas.org

Because of this most people are already touting it as the start of a drastic change in the world's fuel demands,

Nigeria with its vast reserves, the 6th largest in the world, stand to reap immensely form this if the NLNG complex and other LNG projects like the Brass and Olokola LNg projects are properlly ,managed,

[b][color=Black]Opoks, aha, u don catch me, dat was me with the barrack Obama tin, but na foR EBONY i READ AM O!!!!!!Point of correction my broda, I am not from Aba, ,IM from Ebonyi State,

About Bp, ,the correct site is what i gave u, www.bp.com:get to the site, ,click on careers, then on the side menu to ur left u will see students and graduates, ,click on that too, and then go to Graduate and intern programmes by country , yes the drop down menu does not include nigeria but didnt u read this please notehuh

"Please note: UK graduate and intern programmes are open to all nationalities. If your country is not listed in the drop-down we would encourage you to explore graduate and intern opportunities in the UK."

so select my country is not listed and click on go,,,,on the new page that appears ,go to the menu on the left scroll down and click on apply, u shud be able to naviugate ur wayu from there, bro, im doing mine ryt now, have some faith and resilience,

For bg-group.com, , the nigeria office will start recruitment next year but the U.K international recruitment is now open , and just like with BP, , its for all nationalities too, so click on U.K graduate recruitment and do ur tin,

U know, for both BG and BP, , the bstart dates are september 2008, !!!!!tot u shud know,
And opokns, abt ur first post, i still insist i dont need a plan B as far as NLNG is concerned,
U know i applied for MOBIL Graduate trainees,i wasnt invited, i only heard after d test that Mobil had problems with the email server and asked all who applied to gate crash,

I also applied for Chevron Drilling Rep, neva made it past the first stage only Chevron knows why,

Shell nko, ,I applied for the shell SITP Too, I was also not invited only to hear that people gate crashed in warri and succeeded,

I also applied for the Mobil Postgrauate stuff, ,complete with my admission letter and school, my guys wey no even get letta dem call them, was I called, MBA,

No need to mention TOTAL and Schlumberger,

so u see opoks, all things work together for good, for me, Having a plan B is an excellent idea, but for me my faith in God is so strong i dont need a plan B,

Enof of d story, story, Guys, have fun this weekend for next week, huh??WILL THE WAIT FINALLY COME TO AN END OR CONTINUE,, huh?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by uche7869: 4:53pm On Sep 27, 2007
@kuwena,i believe u joo!!!me and my children too were not born to suffer,

@opokonwa, ,u don come again oo!!!!u soundso melancholic, cheeer up man,

Guess what everyone, i decided to stop lying around doing nothing while i wait to resume at Bonny, I went out to takepart in the audition for the season 2 of the intern reality Tv show, it was held at the vault in Lagos and it was fun,

I also went to Ibadan to write a test with Procter and Gamble (P&G) i Ibadan and hang out with 2 of my clasmates who jus got a job there, I was shocked to death toknow that they pay really well,

On my way.,to the audition center while sitting in the bus on ahold-upon hird mainland bridge.,i dcided to contemplate the whole NLNG issue, Someone once told me that LNG will be taking us to the U.K for the trainig in January, this is reasonable cos the winter months are coming and i dont think they'd want us to start our training during winter, Based on that i've come to the conclusion that by the end of October, weould have finished our medicals and Lng would confirm appointments b4 November.it takes about 1-3months to apply for a U.K visa.so from that tim our visas for the u.k trip will be processed and we wud be read to go january, Im just postulating o!nothing confirmed,

@adrianic,u r so matured and , I couldnt leve theforum, i've become so attached to u all.but sometimes some pple post info that can be misleading and i dont want that to affect me negatively or dampen my faith, that was y i tot of leaving,

No matter what LNG does for now, christms this year will never be the same cos i will be celebrating it as graduate trainee with Nigeria LNG Ltd, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!
