tktgal: While I understand your point.. I do not think it is proper to post your salary... Of what use is it stating how much you earn on a public forum. Let me remind you that our ids r not as private as u think. A lot of people have personal relationships outside of here or tend to build a relationship at some point. Well.... I feel if anyone wants further details; you can discuss with them on a more personal note.. outside of here. It may be alrght to state how much u saved up to show as proof on your bank statement (which could serve as a guide ) but stating specific details on ur means of livelihood? No For me, I don't want anyone to disclose such details to me neither do I expect to see it.
Besides, I'm yet to see any post that specifies individual income from the part 1 to 3.. maybe its an oversight but v just not come across it.
This is just my own perspective. Thanks Yes oo, I concur!! Well said. |

Veka: interview was on the 9th in lagos. after following this thread for a while, felt i was ready but i prepared my mind for anything. this my first time applying for a visa and all.
i picked the 10'o clock got there late cos i forgot my passport by the time i got back to the embassy i was panicking, nobody prepared me for that one. LOL. i didnt get to be interviewed till about 1, panic feeling was so heightened cos the line i was on the man rejected the two applications right before mine. Him: your passport please
Wow! Congrats, u re so lucky. me: hands it over Him: why are you going to the US? me: childbirth Him:where in the US are you going to? Me: Dallas.... i mean Houston. Him: have you talked to any doctor? me: yes, hands him that general oakbend letter they send when you make inquiries Him: what do you do? me: bla bla Him: are you married? Me: yes Him: what does your husband do? Me: bla bla Him: why the US (again) me: i want the best Him: have you traveled out of Nigeria before? Me: yes, Ghana and republic of Benin before he could ask.
Him: you applied from Port Harcourt, your visa would be ready in 3 days and would be sent to this address, *circles address on the paper* Me: is that all? i was very confused because i expected more questions, nothing about my finances, nothing about who i intend to stay with, didnt ask for evidence of anything, didnt ask how much i have budgeted. nothing.. i quickly collected my paper and RAN out of the hall before the man would change his mind. Na so o |

olokings: That's very wrong of u to say. .. You think you have gotten all u need? Snatch yourself get shunned from now on! I haven't gotten .all I need oo... I didn't want to start exchange irrelevant words since I am just here to learn. I was only thinking if it was cool being sarcastic over an innocent question.. , saying having a baby in America isn't by force, while another made fun of me not knowing how to navigate and all that, what harm could it had caused them just saying type so so and so at d search bar and search. Meanwhile this is my first time ever on Nairaland so they don't even know how it is for d person. Before i asked that question I searched Chicago hospitals, Chicago doctors, Illinois births and so many others but results i saw were long articles that had nothing relating to d question. Well I am writing all these for d pple who get sarcastic at a question to know that it could be d reason other person is asking. I thought dis forum was to help one another, Well thanks to Nf who came to my rescuer, at least I could now search the dr's names and got reasonable and other info relating to d question. So pls if there are specific ways to narrow down a search then it's ok to say. Dalu Kwan! |

nefertitiram: Dr Alston. St Bernards Hosp or Roseland Community.
Hosp is 2500, doc is 3200, epidural is $450 or 750, can't remember again.
Mount sinAi hosp, Dr. Oronsaye, hosp is 2500, doc is 2000+
Google the hosps for their address and phone numbers to book appt. He accepts tests and scans from Nigeria.
Search part 2 of the thread for a full breakdown on chicago hosps and costs. I did a door to door research. thank u very much may God bless u and ur home! U re indeed a kind soul and ur husband has married an angel. Don't mind those abusive women thinking it pays, what would they gain abusing a mother and a preg woman seeking for help, tomorrow at d judgement day they will ask God when did u knock and I didn't open. (Smh).I decided not to reply them bcus wouldn't stoop that low. Pls may God really fulfil ur dreams and grant u ur het desires Amen. |

Dentale: Exactly. Ucystan, the information you seek is all over this thread. Take your time and read through. Even if its just this part 3, its right here. At least its just a headache you have, not that youre "well enlighten" whatever that means... The headache you feel can't be worse than that of expectant mothers here waiting for Dday or those who have to stay awake nursing their little ones. The search button will narrow things down for you. God speed! Lol... I have read oo but I keep seeing Dr Akere this and that, meanwhile he's even above my budget of $5-6k. I am still looking for another cheaper doctor and hospital but havent read to that point. Pls if u know any just tell me biko o! Bikozi biko... chaii |
