We can only change ourselves and our attitude towards them before we try to change them. I agree they've been very demeaning to the religion but overall they lose. I personally think "Islamphobia" is too big of a word. To be fair to our "Rivals" they only trash Islam with what they see. What "Muslims" show them. They are influenced by the actions of terrorists and Muslims who degrade Islam themselves. In my opinion the only way to show them Islam is not what they're faced with is to be good Muslims ourselves. So that if we were the Muslims they ever encounter they would be able to say nicer things about the Islamic religion.

Like it is Stated in the op, there are two classes of themt. The mischievous ones are the ones mostly in the second set. They are not interested in the answers we give. If truthman asks questions about the marriage of Aisha(ra) for example, in a thread he created, and he was replied.......... Tomorrow kay1onetwo would create another thread asking about other questions as well as the marriage of aisha (ra). Here is the shocker: they are following each other so they would still swamp in to any topic created by them or others just to malign Islam. They have never admitted to been answered.
It's true some muslim brothers haven't been too nice to them which is why I advice our brothers to please refrain from insulting them. They should be engaged in the best of ways.
To the second category showing them we are good Muslims ourselves won't help....... They would rather wish we are bad than good...... Please take a look at this thread for example

This thread seeks to address a problem faced by Islam Section which is basically recycling of already trashed topics in most cases aimed at denigration of Islam or otherwise by some non-muslims. There are two set of this people.
The first set has no plan to ridicule Islam or any of its teachings. It could be such a person in this category has heard a very unpleasant thing about Islam and he wishes for such to be clarified. As muslims, it becomes our duty to clarify such misconceptions that this individual might been battling with. Who knows, maybe that’s his step to hidaya.
The second set derives pleasure and satisfaction in spreading falsehood about Islam. Every other truth is wrong to an individual in this category. There is only one truth to him and it is his truth. In most cases some of these islamophobes are unabashedly dumb, starkly ignorant, haughty and belligerent. Their hatred for Islam stemming from their effusive love for propaganda and bigotry has always existed and it would not end with them but Islam would keep spreading while they keep hating. I often wonder if it is the lust for filthy lucre and pecuniary interest that has shaped them into what they are or maybe it’s a mental sickness which makes the patient to be contempt with the falsehood in his faith as long as he can scour around and cherry-pick verses (in most cases out of context or misrepresentation) from islam and attack muslims. Here is the irony, these verses or issues that are raised have been dealt with. Muslim brothers and sisters who are very active in the Religion section can testify to this.

The common practice by our muslim brothers is to refute these claims with enough evidences but it turns out now that refuting these claims isn’t enough anymore as some of these miscreants would indulge in repeating these questions over and over in the same thread or in others. And it is disheartening when you realize that the reply you just gave, one islamophobe would attack islam again with this. Logicboy comes to mind…….had multiple monikers just to malign Islam and here today we have many of them still towing this path. May Allah guide them to the right path. Ignoring them isn’t also a good idea as unenlightened readers might think they have a point.

[b]It is my suggestion that instead of continuous engagement of these people which in most cases results to nothing and leads to them insulting Islam all in the name of freedom of speech, it would be better to just post a link of the reply to the already treated issue. This is based on the assumption that such issue has been treated and there is available link to it. Readers who are sincerely seeking for the truth would check them out. For newly raised issues, addressing them with evidences without addressing their regurgitations should suffice. I also advice our Muslim brothers and sisters to adhere to the Islamic way of engaging non-muslims. We should try as much as possible not to be abusive nor act immorally towards them. May Allah open their hearts to guidance. ameen
