Dear Sir/Madam,

Are you self employed or looking at setting up a small web business or a blog from the comfort of

your home? Or are you that individual interested in helping businesses build and create a presence on

the internet through simple web development techniques, then this is for you.

We invite you to a two day intensive training on how you can build your dream business or help others

build theirs on the web through the use of WORDPRESS. The WORDPRESS platform for building

organization and personal websites is amazingly simplistic in nature and highly creative. It would

interest you to know that most of the fortune 500 companies today have been built on WORDPRESS.

Come and discover why.

What is WORDPRESS and how can you effectively use this? Join us on Saturday, Sept 14 10am – 4pm

and Sunday September 15 12noon – 4pm and you’ll be empowered to do more through simple web

building steps.

Venue – TrainingCube 25, Afariogun Street, Off Awolowo Way, Ikeja, lagos.

Seminar Fee: N10,000 per head

(Package includes Video Training, Live Training, Q&A, One-On-One Personal Support, and a 45mins

value added presentation each day of the seminar on how you can build your business via Personal

Branding & Development)

Below's what you would learn on that day...

During the session, you’ll also learn:
How hundreds of web designers are quietly making an impressive income building websites in

WordPress. And they’re doing such a good job it’s hard to tell their websites are even built in

WordPress.

How to take the basic theme that comes with your WordPress installation and turn it into a website

suitable for any business from your own portfolio website to your neighborhood dentist.
How to include a subscription form on your website to collect your visitor’s names and email

addresses so you – or your clients – can follow up with them through email marketing.
How to “white-label” WordPress so you control what your clients can access and what they’ll have to

contact you for. For example, you’ll probably want to allow them to add and edit posts and pages, but

you might not want to allow them to change their theme. You can take care of all of that after we

teach you how to “white-label” WordPress.

Plus you’ll learn:
What WordPress is, the benefit of using it and how to overcome some of the myths you may have

heard about WordPress (both for you and your clients’ peace of mind).
Where to find amazing, unique, customized WordPress websites for inspiration – and proof that

WordPress really is the tool for building amazing, feature-rich websites.
How to install WordPress and log in to your administrative back-end and what all the WordPress

settings mean and which settings are best for a successful website.
How to add video, photos and audio to make your WordPress website pages and posts really stand

out.

How to add pages (like About, Contact, Support, services, Blog, etc) to your website and how to add

(or exclude) these pages from your navigation.

How to add sub-navigation to your website.
One simple step to take your website from blog to website immediately. It’s simple, but often

overlooked. Hint: It has to do with the look and feel of your homepage.
How to add a blog to your website and how to add posts to your blog. And while we’re on the subject

of your blog, you’ll also learn how to create categories and tags for your blog posts and how to

schedule a post for the future. We’ll also teach you how to manage blog comments and cut back on

spam.

We’ll also teach you how to install and update your plugins, which plugins are necessary, which ones

should be avoided and which ones are just plain fun.

We’ll show you how to choose an appropriate theme and how to adjust it to fit the needs of your

clients. Plus, we’ll give away our favorite source for getting themes for our own websites and our

clients’ websites.

Iyegbu: Some of the comments i read here are so sentimental especially those who think Fashola is above criticism. The Lagos state budget is 10% that of the Federal government and considering her size development should be very visible. I was shocked last year when Fashola said the budget was 80% implemented as at the 3rd quarter last year, i was like where has 300 billion naira gone into. This government needs to be probed.
Thanks alot for drawing their attention to it all. I get bothered when people speak of fashola & you would be wondering which lagos they are talking about. The same lagos I've been a resident since birth.

Appreciate your comment and looking forth to reading more from enlightened minds....

Valid questions have been raised. You've said nothing but insinuate like every other person. I would wanna agree with the writer of the article that Fashola is more MEDIA than what we see happening......

CareerA Few Words About #wpbootcamp by udohzone(op): 12:53pm On May 30, 2013
A Few Words About #WPBootcamp

The early days of the web were not for the faint of heart. While it was very exciting to be able to self-publish online, in order to participate, you had to be fairly technically savvy. Let’s face it, you probably had to be a nerd (I mean that in a nice way, being a nerd myself). You had to be interested enough in technology, and in making things and publishing them, to be willing to learn how to use a pretty wide assortment of software and languages. Even doing something as simple as writing a few paragraphs and putting them on the web took a high degree of technical competence. The internet looked very vast and open, but the same time was closed off to many, many people.

Thankfully, in 2013 this is no longer the case. We have weblogs, which have been explosively popular for years now of course, as a preferred form for millions of people to express themselves. We have a large and vibrant class of software called content management systems that make putting a blog (or other kind of website) on the web easier than it’s ever been. The days of having to be a nerd to put your stuff on the web are long past.

#WordPress is one of the best and most popular examples of a content management system in use today. It powers many thousands, probably millions, of weblogs and websites. It’s very approachable, easy to use, and not even very difficult to install. At the same time, it is quite extensive and potentially overwhelming. There are times when having a friendly nerd in your corner, someone who has built a lot of websites and blogs and knows some of the issues you might face, can be helpful. Lucky for you, I am just such a friendly nerd.

My course #WPBootcamp teaches you everything you need to know to create a WordPress site. You’ll learn where to get it and how to install it, how to use it to write and manage a website, what themes and plugins are and how to use them, how to make backups, and even how to participate in the WordPress community. The goal is to give you a solid foundation in the basics so you can build a weblog or website from scratch by yourself, for yourself or for others. From there, the world, or at least the web, is your oyster.

The killing of Irawo Adamolekun, the medical doctor who was shot in the head on Friday at Anthony Village in Lagos by a suspected armed robber continues to arouse interest with many calling on the country’s security agencies to fish out the shooter. The gunman, who was wearing a three-quarter length short, shot the deceased at close range, mounted a waiting motorcycle on the other side of the road and fled the scene. The tragedy is more profound for the Adamolekun family knowing that Irawo’s elder brother, Imole, the first son of the family, died in a tragic automobile accident on his way back from school at Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State in May 2004 prompting ...
