Hi guys, I am still curious about what Christ told the young rich man about selling all he has and giving to the poor in Matthew 19:16-30, Mark 10:17-31, and Luke 18:18-30?

I brought this up because some Churches always bring these bible passages up, while others say Christ is not poor so Christians are not supposed to be poor.

No, in my understanding that passage of the Bible is just a reminder to responsible use of wealth. We should not amass wealth at the expense of the poor but rather help the poor.

Business / Nigerian Government Disburses N24 Million Loan To 2,400 Entrepreneurs In Sokoto by UgojiC(m): 8:46pm On Sep 19, 2020
The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has disbursed N24 million to 2,400 small scale entrepreneurs in Sokoto State.

Keyamo said the funds were under the federal government’s Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES) of the National Directorate for Employment (NDE).

He reiterated the commitment of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to increased investment in the area of business empowerment among Nigerians, stressing that microeconomic growths remained the backbone of development.

The minister said Buhari has great concern towards the development of all Nigerians irrespective of political inclinations.

Keyamo commended the governor, Aminu Tambuwal, for emulating Buhari on common grounds, in spite of their different views on politics and governance.

“Leaders ensure that after elections all government policies should affect every citizen, irrespective of political party differences.

“Such action fosters great unity among people and enhances public confidence on governance,” Keyamo noted.

The minister further commended Tambuwal for keying into federal government’s empowerment policies by liaising with Yusha’u Furniture Factory in the training of 1,700 youth on furniture making businesses.

The Director-General of NDE, Nasir Argungu, said the agency was encouraged by the effort of Sokoto orphanage home to commence the “Catch Them Young Entrepreneur Scheme” in Sokoto.

Argungu said during his visit, he discovered that Sokoto State Government had provided empowerment training tools for occupants of orphanage homes, comprising children.

He pledged to provide 20 sewing machines and other skills acquisition training instruments to facilitate more training at the orphanage.

On MEES, Argungu said 100 persons were enrolled in 23 local government areas of the state and it would be a revolving loan for the beneficiaries.

He said the selection process was transparent and assured more openness in the agency schemes.

In his address, Tambuwal reassured his government’s readiness to partner with the federal government on all business empowerment schemes and other policies geared towards uplifting people’s lives at all levels.

Tambuwal stressed that his administration, through the Ministry of Commerce, Sports and Youths Development, initiated various programmes to improve self-reliance and productive lives of citizens.

He noted that the state had commenced the disbursement of N4 billion loans to small scale business owners along with many other agricultural and skills acquisition schemes across the state.

“My administration ensures incorporation of all citizens on its programmes and policies, especially in the area of business growth, agriculture, health, infrastructures development, social services and others,” Tambuwal said.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Zakiyya Malami, expressed appreciation over the gesture and assured judicious use of the funds.

Newsmen report that the event was attended by Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, the Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Manniru Dan’iya, and many others.

Science/Technology / World Most Expensive Toilet Paper With A Price Tag Of $1.3 M by UgojiC(m): 7:23pm On Sep 15, 2020
While some people may argue that we do not need toilet paper more than to wipe out specks of dirt or clean our behind after using the loo well, some people are actually doing the aforementioned with some class and luxury.

A tissue paper created by an Australian man who used 22-carat gold flakes to create it is said to be worth $1,300,000.

The roll was originally made for promotional purposes, but the roll is really up for sale.

Manufactured since 2010, the news about the 22-carat toilet paper has circulated throughout the world but there haven’t been any buyers yet.

Agriculture / World’s Most Expensive Sheep Auctions At £367,500 by UgojiC(m): 10:17pm On Sep 03, 2020
A sheep has been bought for £367,500 (₦188,584,142.44) at an auction, the price makes it the most expensive sheep to have ever been sold.

Pedigree Texel ram lamb Double Diamond was sold to three farmers at the Scottish National Texel Sale in Lanark on Thursday.

The opening bid was £10,000, with Charlie Boden and his family from their Sportsman’s flock in Stockport, Greater Manchester, pocketing the final bid.

According to Sky News, one of the buyers, Jeff Aiken, flock manager at Procters Farm said that a lot of breeders had their eye on Double Diamond as he was a “special animal”. He said:

I knew he was going to be a lot of money but I wasn’t expecting him to make that much. He’s just an outstanding animal. He’s a massive lamb with great confirmation and character, some of which is what breeding is all about. But with the pedigree you start looking at the smaller details of the lamb, you look at his head, the hair colour, the colour around his eyes, legs, he was just perfect in every way.

Aiken accepted £367,500 was ‘an obscene amount of money to pay for a sheep’ and ‘should not be a reflection on the farming community’.

Science/Technology / $1.4b World Largest Solar Park In Bhadla Village India by UgojiC(m): 9:36pm On Aug 05, 2020
Bhadla solar park is a 2.25GW solar complex being developed in Bhadla village in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan, India.

The project is being developed in four phases, with Rajasthan Solar Park Development Company Limited (RSPDCL) developing the first two phases, Saurya Urja Company of Rajasthan developing phase three, and Adani Renewable Energy Park Rajasthan developing phase four.

The total estimated investment on the project is Rs98.5bn ($1.4bn).

The solar park construction was started in July 2015 and the first phase was commissioned in October 2018. The second phase is expected to be commissioned in April 2019, while phases three and four are expected to be commissioned by March 2019.

Bhadla solar park spans a total area of 5,783ha in Bhadla village, which is located 220km away from Jodhpur on Bap-Bhadla road.

Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation (RREC) has allotted the land for the execution of the project in co-ordination with the state government. RSPDCL leased 1,800ha of land to develop phase two of the project.

Rajasthan has the highest solar irradiation of 5.72kWh/m²/day making it a perfect site for solar park development. The country also has the advantage of maximum solar power potential of 142GW in the country with vast unused barren and affordable land.

The first phase  of the solar park has seven solar power plants with a combined capacity of 75MW, while phase two has ten solar power plants with a combined capacity of 680MW.
Phases three and four will have ten solar power plants each, with combined capacities of 1,000MW and 500MW respectively.

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) are responsible for assigning developers for the solar power plants. The two organizations have signed 25-year power purchase agreement with developers.
The solar power plants under the third phase are being developed by Hero Future Energies (300MW), Softbank Group (200MW), ACME Solar (200MW), and SB Energy (300MW).

Azure Power (200MW), ReNew Solar Power (50MW), Phelan Energy Group (50MW), Avaada Power (100MW), and SB Energy (100MW) are undertaking development of the solar power plants under the fourth phase.

The power evacuation system of the solar park will be developed by Powergrid Corporation of India (PGCIL) and state-owned transmission company TRANSCO and delivered to the state electricity boards.

PGCIL will establish 765/400/220kV grid substations and pooling stations at Bhadla. A transmission system with 765kV and 400kV double-circuit line along with two 400kV and four 220kV line bays for solar parks interconnection will also be laid.

Properties / Bizarre 'Pyramid-Shaped' 18-Storey Building In China Becomes Internet Sensation by UgojiC(m): 4:16pm On Aug 04, 2020
A massive residential building in China has shot to fame for its quirky, pyramid-like shape.

The futuristic 18-storey structure is situated in Kunshan, a city near Shanghai, and has gathered great interest from the public for its unusual design.

An impressive drone video released by China News Service shows how flats stack one on top of another on a 45-degree slope as if they were made with Lego blocks.

Standing 100 metres (330 feet) tall, the bizarre yet popular building in Kunshan's Huaqiao district is a part of a residential and commercial complex, which was completed in 2013 and has two other 12-storey structures.

All three buildings have a protruding and slanted surface on two sides, and from some angle the buildings look like pyramids. The other two exterior walls of each building are normal vertical ones.
Masters' Architectural Office, the firm that designed the complex, told MailOnline that its architects were inspired by the traditional Chinese terraced rice fields, which are built into mountain slopes.
The Shanghai-based firm said it also took ideas from parkour, an urban activity which sees people running and jumping between buildings and is loved by young Chinese city dwellers. Apparently, the firm hopes the buildings would be associated with the trending and modern sport.

One resident in the complex, known by his surname Huang, told China News Service the buildings' unique design means each apartment comes with a big terrace and he liked the feature especially.

Mr Huang who lives in a third-floor flat said: 'It is a special way of living. My friends often come to my house to hang out on the terrace. We would drink tea and relax.'

The Chinese public have been intrigued by the building trio, with many web users suggesting that the complex could serve as the set of sci-fi films.

Others find the design mind-blowing. One such user posted on Twitter-like Weibo saying 'I am a bit dizzy after looking at so many balconies'; while another wrote 'I would get lost in the building'.
