PoliticsRe: President Jonathan Commissions Ahmadu Bello Int'l Airport, Kebbi (PHOTOS) by ujoinme:
If some one asked you where these photograhs were taken you would probably never guess that its from Nigeria, All the images besides the 1 one were all taken from brini Kebbi - bunza road Wurogauri Nigeria where lots of pakistani and other foreigners are busy making money mining for solid minerals and rare earth metals, And yet here we are bad mouthing one of our states that many who are commenting here have never been to.

The First image was taken in kebbi by a spanish professional photographer camisetaspersonalizadas - Caño Cristales - Los Ochos
Does that seem like a place someone might want to visit? I would pay to go see that, If our boko haram brothers were not blowing things up.
We Nigerians lack Knowlege of our territories, we base everything on preconceived stereotypes and not facts. little wonder the chadians and Nigeriens are trying to confiscate our territories because we have these riches and dont know what to do with it.

like I said earlier try and pay a visit to kebbi state so that you can understand that an airport is the last desirable of the masses of the state
Maybe the airport is what they need to make things happen in their state. from what i know of kebbi, Its one of the main areas that produce peppers, onions, tomatoes etc in Nigeria, With an airport those products will be easily airlifted to the area of demand within Nigeria and abroad , thereby stimulating economic growth.

Fantastic! Just what the Kebbi masses have been crying out for. Now the airport is built and commissioned all residents of the state will be better equipped to engage in activities that will make kebbi the new Dubai of africa!

Just imagine all those rich kebbi folk can now catch a flight directly to any part of the world right there in beautiful kebbi! That's been their biggest problem for decades!! Really oh, you won't believe it.

Emirates, BA, Virgin et al have been quietly manoeuvring to get landing slots in great kebbi!

Again this is fantastic, really is!!

*Further confirmation that the Nigerian leadership is a lost cause, has always been and by the look of things will forever be* sorry.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, stop being sarcastic, it dosent change the fact that the Airport is important to kebbi economy. Anyone from Abuja, lagos can easily fly in to kebbi for business and out within hours, as opposed to long drives on bad roads to get there! You may not see it because you are myopic in your view but its the truth,
I lived through this in Akwa Ibom, Everyone said Airport was not important to the state because there was Calabar airport, and portharcout airports close by, but today we know the truth That airport has the 4th highest passenger traffic in the country Arik, Aero, Dana And discovery air are running daily flights from that airport today,
BA, Virgin, Etc may not land there today, but who knows tomorrow.
It will be well with kebbi airport.

oga!!!!! you dont know what you are saying. have you ever been to kebbi state before? WTH are you comparing kebbi state with akwaibom state? common !! lets call a spade a spade, kebbi state does not need an airport at the moment
You should go and ask your governor to build an airport in your state to open it up to the world just like Kebbi state governor is doing rather than allow jealousy to get a better part of you.
PoliticsRe: President Jonathan Commissions Ahmadu Bello Int'l Airport, Kebbi (PHOTOS) by ujoinme: 2:59pm On Nov 26, 2014
Good one, and congratulations to the people of Kebbi, An airport is not luxury but a necessity for every state in Nigeria, Now Investors, tourist can access kebbi state easily and all the perishable food products from kebbi can get to the Nigerian and world markets easily, I hope the add a cargo terminal to the airport soon.

This is what a responsible state governor should do, delivering Live changing infrastructures. The Governor has just opened Kebbi state to the world with this singular infrastructure.

Citizens should be calling on governors in every state in Nigeria that does not have at least one functional airport to build one ASAP, rather than envy and pour invective's on governors that have taken the bull by the horn.

The people of kebbi should not mind the skeptics, and myopic critics, They said the same things about Akwa Ibom Airport, jigawa, Asaba, Etc But today those airports are thriving and serving their states well, and this airport will do same.
Nov 18,2014 South African national team Bafana bafana Were Able to fly direct and land At Akwa Ibom International Airport, board their team bus drive on the Smooth roads in Akwa Ibom to Play at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium and Fly Back to their country, This would never have happened 5yrs ago without those infrastructures in place. The importance of good infrastructures in Nigeria and any country should not be overemphasized.

Look at this mentally corrupt upside down thinker..

Same way the clown went to ground break with 2nd niger bridge almost a year ago, but till this very second, all they have is computer graphics..

The betrayers are the lying clowns lying and selling computer graphics to Nigerians all over with place...

Useless people...
.
You are really and upside down thinker, Eko Atlantic city = Private Financing + State govt participation
Centenary city = Private financing + FG participation
Which one is more viable?
In your warped mind you think Eko Atlantic City Stands a better chance than the centenary city! The only reason Eko Atlantic will be a success is because Fashola and his master will be out of power in a few months from now hence they wont be able to illegally appropriate the city for themselves and family like they have done other lagos assets. therby giving the project a chance.

Abuja has a track record of having projects like this succede case in point the world trade centre, I have no doubt that this centenary city will be a success.

Aresa celebrated the renders of Eko Atlantic city, But calls the renders of centenary city a fraud, This shows how intellectually corrupt Aresa is.

EKO Atlantic city and the Centenary cities are both very good projects that should be a delight to any True Nigerian, Its not about celebrating one an denigrating or being pessimistic about The other.

We Nigerians should celebrate both project.

Hmnnnnnnn cable car comes to my mind grin grin grin grin

The governor stated that the light rail project would be commissioned before the end of next year as it was estimated that 1.6 million Lagosians would be transported daily, which translates to 19.2 million passengers annually.
“By the end of 2014, The Blue Line should transport Lagosians from Mile 2 to Marina, a journey of about 13.5 kilometres, in the shortest possible time. We are also proud to say that the cable car; a veritable means of fast and unhindered transportation, is on the verge of completion.
“To grow the economy of our dear city of Lagos into one of the model Mega Cities in Africa, embracing the best practices in the transportation/urban mobility cannot be overlooked. Lagosians must accept this concept of transportation as safer and more economical. We must recognise that individual transportation translates to more vehicles on the roads, which translate to an unhealthy volume of carbon emission

As usual, they shift the goal post when they're caught in the grand act of peddling falsehood... If Fashola has failed to deliver on said promises then let's handle that in another thread, this thread was aimed at gratifying the FG for something that can be best described as a dream project...
We should learn to celebrate achievements and not mooted achievements...
You mean the way the Eko Atlantic city is a dream project?

He said nothing about having Nuclear power plants in a few months. He said they discussed how it could be done within the next 5-24 months.

The keyword is COULD BE? Could means POSSIBILITY and not CERTAINTY.

I know many of you are ignorant illiterates with zero capacity to properly read and comprehend, but try make your education money count sometimes instead of peddling lies all over the place.....
The only power plant Fashola is capable of building is the 8MW generator that APC "terms" power plant. If you were well educated you would have known that there is a big difference between a generator and a power plant!

I congratulate Fashola for building the generator, but he must learn how to build a proper power plant first, Nuclear energy is beyond his ken! Nuclear power plants is not for toddlers.

Firstly, this isn't about Eko or anything else, don't derail. Op asked for evidence/proof of something, I showed him. Do you have any problems with thathuh

Secondly, let me indulge your desire to derail the thread a little; do you mind showing me where I celebrated the Eko Atlantic cityhuh Let me see PROOF just as I gave the op.
It has alot to do with it, you are talking about deliverables compared to promises made by politicians, Am just reminding you that Fashola has made lots of promises that are yet to be delivered and yet you celebrate him.

7.5 yrs of fashola promising and not delivering is hadly anything to be celebrated.

It would be better if you also balanced your observation with what the APC strong man Fashola's Track record so we can see who has delivered more on their projections?
You want me to remind you of all the promises APC made through Fashola that has not seen the light of the day 7.5yrs later?

This is outrageous! how can a sensible government borrow N435bn within just 5 years, at this rate of borrowing, fashola will leave lagos with a trillion debt at the end of his 8yrs in office.
I have been saying this about lagos for a long time on the pages of nairaland. Lagos state is responsible for about half of the external debt owed by all the 36 states in this country? How can one state borrow more money than 35 states in Nigeria, This will surely comeback to hunt the state. and yet people are proping up Fashola for planting flowers in lagos with borrowed money.

SportsHome Based Eagles Disappointed With Match Bonus by ujoinme(op): 1:11am On Nov 23, 2014
The Super Eagles players who prosecuted Friday night’s ceremonial game against the Black Meteors of Ghana at the new 30,000 capacity Uyo International Stadium were paid the sum of 1,000 US Dollars as match bonus, SL10.ng can confirm authoritatively.

The match, which launched the opening of Nigeria’s latest sporting edifice – a world class stadium by every standards – was the first to be played at the arena and saw the home based Super Eagles beat their Black Meteors counterparts 1-0, home boy Emem Eduok scoring the first ever goal at the arena.

The 1,000 US Dollars aside, the players were also given N30,000 each for local travel expenses but SL10.ng understands that some of the established players on the team were surprised with the amount they received. The said players, who have been with the main Super Eagles team, have been used to collecting between 5,000 to 10,000 US Dollars on match days and are said to be disappointed with what they have been paid, according to one SL10.ng source.

The home based Super Eagles at the last CHAN in South Africa received 3,000 US Dollars as winning bonus and some of the players expected something closer to that figure.

“Some of the players, especially the more established ones were not very happy with the 1,000 USD they collected because they’re used to collecting higher and the game being a ceremonial one with so much activities, they expected some largesse from the Akwa Ibom State Government but I don’t know if I should say they’re disappointed,” a source disclosed to SL10.ng.

The team has since been decamped and the players are expected to return to their respective clubsides preparatory to the last round of games in the league.

I do not really consider Lagos when I make summations of this nature. It is a different thing altogether when you want to judge Lagos at par with other states. Lagos is like a country to me with a population almost same with Ghana and with much more responsibility like big cities like Beijing, Johannesburg, Dubai and Doha. But in terms of money available to states, Akwa Ibom got approx N31b from the fed account alone June last year while Lagos generates about N20b in internal revenue. So you see there's kind of balance in this wise. Yet I salute Akpabio for his giant developmental strides. We need more people like him.
my point is when you combine Lagos IGR with its FG allocation money available to lagos state beats other states hands down.
