NFF please Sack Enyeama from SE and As Captain, He is the reason for Boko haram in the Northern Nigeria and he is also responsible for kaduna being a stronghold of Boko haram. Enyeama is also the reason the super eagles did not qualify for the last nations cup. Enyeama is responsible for all the insecurity and indiscipline that plagues Nigeria. As Soon as Enyeama is sacked, Boko haram will end in Nigeria, boko haram will no longer attempt to kill leaders like they did buhari in Kaduna. Kaduna and the entire North will be safe as soon as enyeama is sacked. The Super Eagles will do better without Enyeama please Sack enyeama! |

Atouke:You are getting it wrong, your choice of word is questionable, there is no relocation as the seaport is within the ibom industrial city and free zone. The area is large an covers about 5 Local government area, so siteing the seaport within any area of the zone does not mean a relocation. Relocation would have been applicable if the site was moved outside of the proposed industrial city zone. I wish i was a politician then i will be rich ! LOL 1 Like |

Atouke: I am no politician Abeg -o ! just a concerned Akwa Ibomite. My point is that the seaport was to be sited within the industrial city which ibeno and ibaka are within that industrial city proximity so there is no relocation here as the seaport is within the proposed industrial city. I heard from the grapevine that Ibaka where the initial site was earmarked for the proposed Nigerian Navy submarine port which is still underwraps as it is the deepest natural waterbody in Nigeria. That makes sense because its just a stone through from the NNS station at james town. So as a matter of National strategic security a new site was imperative. And that this was the reason for the delay in approval of the seaport as opposed to politics that everyone was blaming. But don't quote me on it as it is just rumor. The most important thing is that a suitable site has been allotted for the deep seaport that is satisfactory to all Stakeholders in the project and all Approvals has been secured.LOL |

Atouke: @atouke and @jazzydee you guys are misunderstanding the issue! the fact is that from Ibeno, ewang, Okposo, tom shot island all the way to Ibaka and jamestown is part of the ibom industrial city, If you look at the 3D model of the area i posted earlier you will see that all that area is earmarked for the industrial city development. the port is just a component of the industrial city and will be sited within the industrial city which covers about 5 Local Government Areas in the state 2 Likes |

This has informed keen interest of the Federal Government of Nigeria in the project, which on completion, is expected to redefine the direction of economic activities in the sub-region. To underscore the importance of the Ibaka Intergraded Deep Seaport to the economy of the region the Federal government of Nigeria not long along ago gave approval and set up a technical implementation committee to ensure the actualization of this dream project and the required licenses have been issued for its takeoff. The Ibaka seaport has the following unique features: • Has a natural draught of 11 meters • requires little dredging to accommodate large ocean going vessels • located in the oil rich region and would serve the oil companies and oil service companies located within the region • Easy access to the oil rich Gulf of Guinea • Proximity and centrality to Deep offshore operations & West African region, JDZ, Sao Tome, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Gabon, Tinapa. • Could stimulate industrial, mercantile and tourism activities • Development of infrastructure to support oil & gas exploration, shipping, industries and international trade within a free trade zone framework • The synergy so generated would be used as a vehicle for rapid development • Employment of a strategy that balances rapid industrialisation/ economic growth with environment protection. 5 Likes 1 Share |

NDPVF: Why do you feel the need to always compare Akwa Ibom with other states? please desist from that negative tendency it reeks of inferiority complex. Lagos port will do its own business while Ibom port will do its own business at the end all ports will be owned and regulated by the FG and will generate income and jobs for Nigeria. Lagos port will service the western region of Nigeria while the Ibom port will service the eastern and central parts of Nigeria. Ibom seaport will reduce the turn around time for the eastern and central nigerian business will have to wait to receive their cargo form the congested and Distant Lagos port. thereby helping make Nigerian Businesses more efficient and also helping decongest lagos port with the attendant congestion of the city. Its a win win for everyone, and the Country at large. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Deltagiant: Nothing will hinder this port IJN, the usual low depth due to non dredging that hinders other ports will not affect this port as it is a natural deep port which require little or no dredging. It will be a prefered port because it is right on the atlantic ocean with open ocean access with no shallow channel access route encumbrances. and it will have the ability to berth the largest ships in the world. 5 Likes 1 Share |

This is a great project, I just hope that Udom emmanuel will hurry up with the process of actualization of this port. Its what the former South eastern States has been clamouring for, over a long period of time. Especially now that all the necessary approvals has been secured and all the political hoops that was hindering the project has been overcomed. the only thing that can stop it now is funding! this is why Udom Emmanuel was unanimously elected by the people of Akwa Ibom State, to use his banking wizardry to secure funds for this project and we trust that God will strengthen him to accomplish it. 2 Likes |

Emmanuel inaugurates technical committee on actualisation of Ibom Deep Seaport The 10-member Technical Committee on the actualisation of Ibom Deep Seaport has been inaugurated with an assignment to pilot the process for the actualization of Ibom Deep Seaport on or before December 31, 2018. Governor Udom Emmanuel, who gave the charge Thursday after inauguration of the committee, further mandated the members to draw up a road map in collaboration with other stakeholders for the next project phase. Emmanuel asked the committee to review the Outline Business Case (OBC) and other relevant documents to guide in the timely delivery of the project and to ensure compliance with the ICRC Act, 2005 and the National Policy on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the overall project implementation. The governor noted “Ibaka Deep Seaport is an audacious attempt to re-write the maritime story of Akwa Ibom State. It holds the promise of an industrial revolution of our State. It holds the promise of the industrialization of Akwa Ibom. It holds the promise of the creation of over 100,000 jobs. It holds the promise of a self-sustaining commercial city with oil and gas support services. It holds the promise of our finally tapping into our awesome and largely untapped maritime potentials”. According to him, ”It is a seed of greatness which when we plant it, and it germinates, it shall provide economic and social shelter for millions of Akwa Ibom people. It is a project with multiple benefits to our state, our nation and our sub-region. It encapsulates the dream of this administration for the industrial rebirth of Akwa Ibom State. And the industrialization of this State is an article of faith with my administration. The governor remarked ”The list of countries that trace their roots of rapid industrialization to seaports is endless. Foreign Direct Investments flows ceaselessly in Malaysia because of its freight business. Port Klang alone has trade links with over 180 countries, and more than 500 ports. With this, there is no way their economy will fail to thrive. Even the economy of the United States of America is also largely dependent on its waterborne trade. “More than 13.3 million Americans work in port-related jobs that generate nearly 650 billion Dollars in annual personal income and 212.4 billion Dollars in federal, state and local taxes. In Florida specifically, sea ports generate more than 550,000 direct and indirect jobs. The story is not different in Singapore and other Asian Tigers. It can also be our story. This is our dream and vision for our State. Together, we can get there. The climb might be steep. But I have never been more hopeful than I am today that we will get there through your significant contribution at this stage of our administration”, he recapped. While congratulating the members on their appointment, he posited that ”The success or failure of this enterprise, therefore, will not depend on their heads, but on their hearts. If they come to work with the right attitude, the right mind-set and the right passion, they will succeed. When they succeed, we succeed as a people. Therefore, we urge them not to rest on their oars and treat this task as a stroll in the park. They must keep it in their hearts that to whom much is given much is expected. We expect much from them – in fact Akwa Ibom expects them to draw water from stones. “With so much at stake, we took the greatest care to select men and women who have the strongest set of skills to turn this dream into a reality. The Chairman of this Technical Committee for the Realization of Ibom Deep Seaport, She has the expertise, skills and experience needed for this task. The other members of the Committee are all men and women who have reached the zenith of their professions, and have competences needed for the task ahead. We are proud of all of them’’, he added. He said they have been carefully selected to bear critical responsibility for the attainment of a major goal of this administration and launch our beloved State to the pinnacle of greatness, enjoining ‘’Let me, therefore, invite you to share in the urgency of the moment. The Ibom Deep Sea Port will be an industrial mix that will pump our economy to its highest calibration of performance like it is in other climes’’. Emmanuel implored every player drafted into this dream team in whatever role or capacity, to play as if the success of the game depends on his wing, stating “On our part as a government, be rest assured that we will give you all the needed support and co-operation for you to function optimally. We have faith and great expectation that together, we shall safely anchor at our industrial destination. Contribute your quota in our quest to open up Akwa Ibom as the industrial hub of the Gulf of Guinea, and not again the by-word for neglect. This is our chance. This is our moment. This is our time. And I dare to say, the time is right”. The committee has Barr. (Mrs.) Mfon Usoro, a former Director General of Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency as Chairman whileDr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, Mr. Chidi Izuwah, Mr. Idongesit Udofa, Engr. Ekong Umo-Otong, Rear Admiral Francis Akpan, Barr. Aniekan Ukpanah, Mr. Charles Udonwah, Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi and Engr. Etido Inyang are members. The committee is to liaise with the Federal Ministry of Transport, Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), and Ministerial Project Development Steering Committee (MPDSC) in all procurement processes in line with the Public Procurement Act 2007; evaluate Technical reports from the Transaction Adviser (TA) & Operator and ensure implementation. Other terms of reference are to work with the host communities in resolving issues incidental to the realization of the Deep Seaport Project, commence discussion with various investors on the Ibom Industrial City Projects and to submit regular Project Progress reports to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State http://worldstagegroup.com/index.php?active=news&newscid=22797&catid=2 1 Like |

The Godswill Akpabio NLC rain School, of The Nigerian Labor Congress workers solidarity centre was recently opened for Use by the immediate past governor of the state who was represented by his Deputy lady Ebe. Workers in the state were very content with the administration of gov. Akpabio, not just for his giant strides in infrastructure renaissance in the state but also for his prioritizing of workers welfare, Akwa Ibom was one of the first state to implement the new National minimum wage for its civil servants , but it also went further to pay its workers a 13th month salary for 12 months work, The 13th month fondly known as Akpabio-mber by civil servants in the state. The 13th month salary usually followed the december salary every year the beloved governor was in power. One of the more reasons Akwa ibom workers will miss Akpabio, as it is not known if the new governor will continue with the tradition.

Politics / Akwa Ibom State Govt. Opens A 20,000 Per Wk Capacity Poultry Hatchery In Uruan. by ujoinme: 10:47pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
This is a welcome development as it will Alleviate the scarcity of day old chicks in the state. Farmers had to travel to western part of the country to procure stock for their farms, But this new State govt. initiative will reduce the scarcity of day old chicks in the state and enhance farmers productivity. It is note worthy that the state ministry have been running a hatchery in a different location for over a decade now but the old hatchery had only 3000 day old chicks per wk capacity at Use Offot, which was very inadequate for the needs of the farmers. The new hatchery will enhance the capacity of the ministry of Agric to meet the needs of the farmers in the state. and the expertise to run such a hatchery already exists within the ministry even though the state is exploring avenues to sign a PPP agreement to run the farm, it has created an employment opportunity for more workers as the new hatchery requires more manpower for its Activities. The new complex has an administration unit, Living quarters for all essential staff, water, generator to ensure availability for water and light laboratory and 80,000 fertile egg breeder farms, which will serve as a feedstock to the hatchery etc besides the main hatchery building which in itself is a beautiful building with an oval shaped roof. Farmers in the state are Happy with this development. This project was one of the 165 projects that the past governor of the state Akpabio, commissioned before leaving office in may 29th 2015. 1 Like

barcanista: You are stupid beyond redemption. 1).The Brand new State University that this governor built and graduated the first set of students just a few weeks ago, if i may ask you what is that for? 2).The over 6000 classroom blocks built and renovated in primary and secondary schools in the state with free and compulsory education. what is that supposed to do? 3).The brand new federal polytechnic that this government attracted to the state , what will it do? 4).The first quaternary hospital in Nigeria with its own school of nursing and health tech within its premise, the Ibom specialist hospital opened the same day as this hotel. What is it suppose to do? 5).The Ibom E-Library with over 20 million electronic books the first of its kind in West Africa, What is that for? 6).The countless job opportunities and on-the job training that Akwa Ibomite's are receiving on the sites of these several innovative projects the gov. is doing in AKS is huge. If i may ask you Do you know any construction engineer in West Africa that has experience in underground pipe jacking technology? Akpabio brought Julius berger to the state awarded them contracts to build over 7km of underground pipe jacked drains in Uyo and Abak LGA , which employed several locals in the project who now have experience in that novel area of technology which is alien to this parts of the world. 7).The structures erected in Akwa Ibom like the world class stadium, this hotel, the e library, the ibom hospital etc these are structures that are of first world standards and guess what that is doing to the competence of the local Akwa ibom construction workers in terms of work Experience capacity building not to talk of employment. You should think before you comment, Human development is not an event but a complex plethora of developmental process in all human endeavours which Akpabio's government has brought to Akwa Ibom. Do not react emotionally out of jealousy or envy masked as pseudo concern. The reason i bothered to respond to you is because I thought you were better than this knee jerk outburst of envious comment . but now i know i was wrong. Any ways Akwa Ibom Ayaya, we are happy with Akpabio and the things he has built and the innovations he has brought to our dear state. we will have things to point to for his 8 years as governor in Akwa Ibom. 8 yrs ago no one was talking about or envying Akwa Ibom, But today the story has changed. These are current available data of debts from the Debt management office Nigeria, all the debts are made public by that office for you nigerians and you can download them for your yourselves at their website http://www.dmo.gov.ng/arsubn.php NOTE 1).Table 1 is the total amount of external debts owed by states as at december 31st 2014 and the amount is in dollars not Naira! this represents what the respective states borrowed from Abroad. 2).Table 2 is the total amount of domestic debt owed by states as at december 31st 2013 and the amount owed is in Naira! This represent what the respective states borrowed from Nigerian Banks. 3) Table 3 is the total amount of domestic debt owed by states as at december 31st 2012. The reason i included this is because Bayelsa State domestic debt for 2013 is not available so its good that Nigerians know what bayelsa was owing as at 2012 to use as a benchmark for their current debt. For your information , the total debt owed by each state = Table 1 + Table 2 (Note table 1 figures is in $ since they borrowed those from Abroad) For Bayelsa State it will be Table 1 + Table 3.
