giles14: Factually incorrect. this level of combustive heat, does not and can never downgrade steel to the point of un-recyclability. Armored steel is made just like every other type or grade of steel. Iron, coal, STEEL SCRAP and other minerals are fired and melted in a furnace to create molten steel. This molten steel is poured and rolled into slabs of chemically-similar material at consistent width. These slabs are allowed to cool and further re-heated and rolled under a mill to a lesser thickness and then cut into various length while still hot and then allowed to cool again. Armored steel is further pressured and tempered to increase the hardness, hence you get better ballistic protection for the same thickness Armored steel is further subjected to additional treatment and pressure if the chemical properties are not exactly right. Each Armored steel plate is tested for ballistic integrity by making an incision to excise a piece of the plate for microscopic testing. 1 Like |

Whyem15: Reused as in Recycled? YES. dissect and cut the steel into smaller pieces Melt the steel down into liquid steel along with other recycled steel. Hot roll or Cold roll into new steel sheets. Fabricate once again into an APC. Steel, aluminum and most, if not all metals are 99% recyclable. Reused as in reform its structural integrity by hammering it back into place? Not advisable. |

iblawi: here here remember vividly the beginnings of the fabrication venture, Igirigi. People made fun, even laughed at its insane ugliness... well... only the foresighted could see into the future of Armored personnel carriers production. Only people who knew how technically easy these ventures are could imagine that it wouldn't take time for Nigeria's private sector to catch up with their imported counterparts. What nobody expected and what most people are still baffled by is DICON and its exponential growth in the past years, giving PROFORCE a run for its money. The quality of these products are of high standard and proficient enough to get military personnel the protection they need. Its a burgeoning industry, growing in leaps and bounds with sizeable investments both private and public. Remember when the unofficial embargo was placed on the Nigerian government, and said government had to literally purchase arms from shady third-hand dealers; even to the point of a chartered plane been stopped and its contents seized by another African country based on information given to it by the secret service of a North-American country. That was definitely one of the lowest point for Nigeria's war against the vermin invaders. Well, just a few years later, Nigeria has pretty much learned the lesson it should have learnt a long time ago, nobody respects a beggar. Stop begging and get to work. Build, fabricate, engineer, develop all facets of industry that enable and engender respect among the committee of nations. Nigeria's oil industry and its local content drive which has seen its local capacity to fabricate increase to 35% of all contents used in Nigeria's oil and gas industry gives it ample knowledge and capacity to build bigger and better. Nigeria's content and development monitoring Board has been steadily increasing this percentage from 10% a decade ago to 35% now and the aim of 70% in the next decade. Because after you've built and assembled more than 7,000 tones in parts of a floating, production and storage vessel, then APC's, Tanks, and ships do not seem as complicated any longer. That's, 70% of all content used in one of the largest oil and gas industries in the world. Think about how many engineers, professional welders, project managers, procurement managers would be involved in all these private companies. Shame on those who are blinded by their deep-seated animosity and inferiority complex towards a Nation on the verge of a technological and industrial revolution. A nation that can truly inspire hope, renaissance, and a resurgence in science and technology for the whole continent. Whether in Space technology, Oil and gas, Software development, Banking, ICT, Agriculture, and the service industry. The land is green. 8 Likes 1 Share |

BabaOwen: if as true as stated; this would be another reprehensible act.... absolutely reprehensible, the culprits, violent thugs in NA uniform must be fished out and adequately dealt with... apologies must be tendered and compensation must be paid to the family of the deceased. if this case is swept under the carpet like many others over the years. It further makes it hard to justify the "NA is a professional force" mantra. As being a professional force is not by words or how many times those words are repeated but by action and consequences for egregious acts of violence against civilian citizens of the federal Republic of Nigeria. Extortion and extra-judicial murder has never been the job description at the NA. "Lance Corporal Harrison Friday - One good soldier against evil. We call it valiant when a gun holding soldier shoots a gun holding terrorist. What do we call a soldier that speaks up for the unarmed he swore to protect, One good soldier" Here is a soldier that has been publicly arrested, humiliated and labelled a criminal by the NA what's his crime? he asked his fellow soldiers to stay true to their oath and not turn their guns on innocent civilians meanwhile soldiers accused of been kidnap-ring assailants and police-murderers are enjoying silence. On this case, its nothing but shame, absolute shame. Shallom Allahu akbar God is good 3 Likes |

kabe1: Now these are the sort of pictures that can give me a boner for 3 straight weeks, no jokes. less impressed with the purchase of equipment, more impressed with fabrications, modifications and in-house integration of systems to meet the need of the troops on ground. NAF, NN, NA are seriously kicking private military industry butt when it comes to production of military equipment. One wonders what's holding private military industry back, but a few like proforce, Epenal etc. Yes, Initial purchase of a few units are necessary to understand the workings of modern equipment, but afterwards, the rest units must be assembled locally, I repeat MUST. Nigeria cannot afford to procure all it needs from other countries, this would be suicidal, as we should have learnt from the very early Jaguar escapades. Private military industry must continue to showcase their prowess by constructing what the Military needs but don't currently have, this is the only way they would be taken seriously and joint ventured with. Why is private industry afraid of dabbling into the manufacture of prototype military equipment. Yes to get into full fledge assembly of military equipment will require major paperwork and permissions from DSS and such. But, not prototypes, matter of fact, a company is more likely to be granted permissions after the delivery of a working prototype. 3 Likes |

Cannonleo: wise move, if this is true. Very wise move. They had better be oh. because waiting for second quarter of 2021 is very very very odikwa risky, was just grinding my teeth, when NAF was saying they would receive first batch of 6 in second quater 2021, was like... chaiii....... we don die..... even if NAF is able to get 2 or 4 of the Tucano's immediately, asap, pronto....... that's better than nothing, zero, zilch. Because if the democrats enter that white house, mehnn...e go tough.... NAF might chop collateral damage on behalf of NA. So, whatever NAF's respectable and able Sadiq has to do to insist some birds be provided now even if they have to finish attaching some components on ground, in Nigeria, this would be the wisest move. 1 Like |

Only God can effectively supervise Nigeria's borders - Buhari https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2020/12/only-god-can-effectively-supervise-nigerias-borders-buhari.html “Also, we share more than 1,400 kilometers of border with that country, which can only be effectively supervised by God." Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar EIiiiiii..... what a living God we serve... hahahaha ... but please give me a break. shey no be one chance we don enter like so. So this is why BuBu's minions have been preventing him from talking to the people, preventing him from honoring the invitation by the Legislature. absolutely vacuous and without substance. God? God? Good God! Kai Kai Kai. Does BuBu know that the war against insurgents in Nigeria's entire north starts and ends with Border security? So, for all the time the borders were closed, was he twiddling his thumbs? no ideas about how to secure the borders? 1400km Chain linked double fence, anyone? with overhead drones patrol-monitoring each section of the fence. And before anyone says that will be expensive, well; how much is tens of thousands of Nigerians dead, imagine they were your family; how much is Nigeria's pride; how much is 344 school children kidnapped and tortured, raped and sold off as slaves; to have America conduct an operation on Nigeria's soil, and some people on here shrug it off like its nothing, and was supposed to happen. One thing is for sure though, BuBu has been completely demystified. The Emperor indeed has no clothes. What a shame. Why not tell us this when campaigning, that God was the one to secure the borders. Absolute nonsense. I think its better you don't talk at all. Just finish and go already. 6 Likes 1 Share |

BabaOwen: One of the latest actors in town. I remember when people on here advised that this guy is just another clout chaser, unwilling and unable to tell the real truth to the face of the person that truly matters; I was like nahhh, no way. Zulum fooled everyone, he is a relatively new actor in the game, hence, as reasonable human beings, he was given the benefit of doubt. But its obvious, with every consecutive word that comes out of his mouth, he physically twists and discombobulates himself into a native styled gele and wrapper, that one wonders, how does this even make any sense. how does one begin to unbundle this stack of nonsense. Says one thing today, only to walk it back the next day, all without tackling the real issue, all without blaming BuBu. 2 Likes |

https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2020/11/boko-haram-as-at-2007-nominated-a-commissioner-to-borno-state-cabinet-nigerian-journalist-david-hundeyin-reveals-how-boko-haram-was-allegedly-born-2.html Boko Haram as at 2007 nominated a commissioner to Borno state cabinet - Nigerian Journalist, David Hundeyin reveals how Boko Haram was allegedly born Hundeyin who accused the north of incubating a monster that is beyond being tamed now, said he lost his sympathy when he worked on origins of violence in the north in 2019. "When I worked on a report on the origins of violence in the north last year was when I lost all sympathy. They actively incubated a monster that is beyond being tamed now. I'm going to reveal something in this thread that I guarantee most of you have never heard of before. Are you aware that those in charge of northern Nigeria's political Islam establishment spent decades pacifying their horrendously poor constituents by promising them the land belonging to northern Christians once Sharia was implemented? Let me give you a background. Due to monogamous marriage which limits their population expansion, northern Christian land inheritance is largely linear, i.e the number of descendants fighting to inherit land from the father is limited, which gives them economic leverage in an area where land is the only asset Northern muslims on the other hand, have extremely diluted inheritance because the patriarch can have 4 wives and 17 children, 8 of whom might be male. Simply put, there is not enough land to go round which leads to extreme wealth disparity within Muslim areas. This is why Sharia was championed by northern political actors and enthusiastically welcomed by northern proles - it was a bone for politicians like Yerima to throw to the masses, and the masses genuinely believed that land belonging to the 'arne' would be distributed to them. Sharia came, and the promised expropriation and redistribution didn't materialise. Bear in mind that young northern men, contrary to popular belief, actually want more from life than poverty and ruin. The promise of taking over arne property was a REAL source of hope for them. Ustaz Mohammed Yusuf, a charismatic preacher in Maiduguri saw this groundswell of resentment and took advantage of it, cultivating his Salafist group into a political force in Borno state. Boko Haram as at 2007 actually nominated a commissioner to the Borno state cabinet. The disagreement came when Governor Ali Modu Sheriff refused to follow through on his (politically expedient) promises to Boko Haram, including seizing land belonging to arne and distributing it to economically disenfranchised young Muslim men. Yusuf went rogue and in July 2009, the Nigeria Police Force got involved the only way it knows how to, extrajudicially executing him in full view of everybody outside the Maiduguri police HQ. Yusuf's deputy, Abubakar Shekau then took over. And the rest is history." So many facts to concur with here. The article speaks for itself. The article speaks what we all know to be true. Humans never seize to amaze. 6 Likes |

Hon. Garba Muhammad of The House of Representatives yesterday called on the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai to urgently establish a battalion of the Nigerian Army at the southern border of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria to help forestall incursions by kidnappers, bandits and miscreants into the campus. Is Garba Muhammad making sense? I think so, because if you think about it, what Nigeria needs at this point is not decentralized policing but Military formations in every university, secondary school and primary school, complete with machine gun mounted Ezugwu and grenade launchers. Because, why protect a University campus with soldiers and leave secondary and primary schools without any soldiers, these are very young people that still drink milk, they deserve protection too, by armed soldiers. Infact every school goer should be assigned their own personal soldier, just to be safe. Hon. Garba Muhammad of The House also asked the federal government to urgently erect a secure wall round the campuses as has been done for the University of Maiduguri in Maiduguri and the Gwagwalada campuses of the University of Abuja in order to forestall incursions. Is Garba Muhammad making sense? nooooo, tufiakwa, leave the university campus wide open, no need for borders or barriers, let anyone and anything be able to stray in and out including cows, donkeys and of course armed kidnappers. This is exactly how we were taught to secure a location, by having no physical barrier between what we seek to protect and what aims to kill. What is a wire mesh security perimeter wall when we can always call on the army after people have been killed and kidnapped. Oh yea, and we will always pray for the souls of the departed, as I am about to do now. RIP to the lost souls. May God forgive their sins. At times like these, its good to have a sense of humor, otherwise one might literally go insane. 3 Likes |

kabe1: starts playing drums do do pa, do pa do do pa, do pa pa When I say fabri you say fabricate fabri! fabricate! fabri! fabricate! hehehehehehehehe measure steel, cut steel, weld steel fabricate for goodness sake. Amazing, absolutely amazing Epail & DICON private and public sector collaboration You know what this BRG 120 got me thinking of We've always clamored on here for proper border security. Absent which Nigeria will never get out of this vicious cycle it finds itself in, why, because small arms and light weapons keep pouring in. Its not quantum physics. Border security by a physical double-walled wire-mesh as previously suggested might sound drastic, maybe expensive, but some people believe a kind of physical border is necessary, an absolute necessity. What if this BRG 120 could fill the void. Till Nigeria comes to its senses about Border security Imagine the BRG 120, maybe BRG 240, twice, maybe 4X the size, BRG 480 capable of holding 4 military personnel, with a massive reservoir below ground, containing water, fuel, food, and ammo to last 3-5 months of course rationed in a pre-determined manner. A small non flush chemical toilet(no smell) and a small shower room included-below ground solar panels on the top of the BRG 480 to power communication and a dedicated tethered drone a dedicated tethered drone might draw considerable power(24/7), so maybe a long telescopic mast as already used with the BRG 120 for a long-range thermal camera system that can detect movement of persons and vehicles within a 1.5-2 km radius Personnel 1 operates the surveillance system, looking out for intruders, and also handles the communication systems, periodic check in with DHQ Personnel 2 handles the gun system; consisting of a machine gun and a sniper rifle. Personnel 3 is the commander for the shift Personnel 4 gets a good 6-8 hour sleep the shift rotates once Personnel 4 wakes up. an all terrain low riding vehicle comes with the package. BRG 480 is replenished and evacuated by a dedicated supply truck. 3 Likes |

ARESA 1700? how big is this craft if one may ask? Naval Dockyard Limited is definitely building a bigger one why not equip NDL to have a production line for the SDB's the steel used for the SDB makes it a bit slower than its aluminum counterpart so why not invest in aluminum welding methods for the SDB's with the many competent private sector engineering companies available in Nigeria why not open the Navy's procurement to public bid The navy gives its requirement for the craft; speed, displacement, communication equipment, armament, insurance, repair and maintenance and have companies bid to supply 10, 20, 30 crafts. This is how a defense industry is created, through competition. we keep exporting jobs and importing poverty with these purchases. If we've learnt anything from Ara, Ezugwu, SDB, its that Nigeria can make things. 11 Likes |

kabe1: Absolutely agree, If LT Gen Ihejirika(Rtd), did not build that ugly Igirigi, most people would doubt our capability to build the ARA today. haha, remember igirigi, God, people laughed oh... look at us now. Ara, Ezugwu, making us proud. SDB killing it too. Respect... Much Respect. but Just to correct a few notions. Vietnam is a unitary state, and a one-party socialist republic. The Communist party has been in power since the end of the Vietnam war in 1975, and every five years elects a new leadership. The party has 4.5 million members in a country of 93 million people, who have no direct say in how their leaders are elected. Singapore is a one party state with an illusion of democracy, that has been ruled by the same party, P.A.P since 1965 Nigeria cannot, and should not seek to be in league with these countries; it will not work, it will lead to her quick disintegration, due to Nigeria's multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-party, federal, democratic structure, where freedom of speech and freedom to associate is guaranteed in its constitution. In Singapore or Vietnam, no one has the right to free speech, meaning no one can speak their mind. In terms of style of government, Singapore and Vietnam belong in the same league as Chad, North Korea, and China The league of Nations that Nigeria belong to based on its complexity, constitution and style of government include: America, Australia, Britain, Chile, Ghana, Kenya. e.t.c End of Correction Personal opinion: Often times, people judge development by how many shinny buildings exist in a country, until they live in said country and find that they cannot express their views and opinions beyond what is permissible by the national despot. Nigeria must not seek to sacrifice its hard-won democratic tenets on the alter of vague and promised shinning buildings absent of true democratic values. Not just by mouth, but by practice, allow people to protest, its their constitutional right, do not kill them, shouldn't police have proper riot gear, shields to break up protests? At no time should the Army be coerced into civilian issues, the Nigerian Army should be smart enough by now to know when to stay in their barracks. NA needs to learn a lot more from NAF and NN. Soldiers can be deployed to guard and protect sensitive federal installations against damage, but other than that stay in the barracks, defend Nigeria against external threats, this is the primary job of the Nigerian Army. Rtd. General Buhari would not be president of the federal republic of Nigeria today if he was shot and killed while protesting pre 2015. Allahuakbar Shallom Jesus is lord 14 Likes 1 Share |
