EricBloodAxe:Service-personnel enter the military with the will and courage to fight for Nigeria, its just that once they get in there, they have to be of exceptionally high moral standing to not compromise their soul, some do. This is because Abuja has too much on its plate, and like a dog with a bone, Abuja doesn't want to let go even when that bone is sure to end up choking it to death. Abuja budgets for military, Abuja budgets for police, Abuja budgets for toilets in primary schools, Abuja budgets for sewage line in the village, Abuja budgets for everything budget-able, and still wants to take on more unnecessary work even though this government campaigned on the restructuring mantra. For Christ-sake, decentralize the police, give state more funds to make this happen. Abuja hold on to the EFCC, EFCC should be the federal police. Well armed, Well trained and given an additional mandate to tackle inter-state crime. |
demolition:mehn, at this point, its looking like super tucano will be the least of our problems oh. |
to the Nigerian Military, and all its service-personnel. You primary duty has always been to maintain the physical territorial integrity of the Nigerian state. Ask yourself and answer truthfully in your heart of hearts, how do you score yourself in this primary duty? Low - Average - High If you get orders to shoot unarmed protesting civilians, do not take that order, be as brave as we know you to be. Do not sacrifice your freedom and your soul for the immediate gratification of an evil order. If you escape the karma and justice that follow, your children and your children's children will definitely not. Like goodwill, karma is indeed passed on from parent to child, heed the word of God, heed the word of reason. Allahu Akbar |
demolition:mehn... couldn't agree more. Sad, unnecessary but, true. |
Faithful007:I tell you, a miracle indeed. everyone has been warning on here, dont deploy the military, dont deploy the military, dont deploy the military, what do we get, disappointment. |
jarell:mehn, I weak oh, they virtually chose the most globally connected patch in Nigeria to display shenanigans, and some people claim to have sense. At this point, the cries have just gotten louder. government, do you have sense? not at all. Its plain obvious for everyone to see now. Shooting protester in lekki, stupid move, very very stupid move. |
Tobiloba2407:Strategy? when your people are genuinely asking for change of police structures, the change that was promised before they elected you into office. Now they have to become José Mourinho and start doing tactics again? how, why do people think this is a joke, or a football match. restructure the country, start with the police, give the states more money so that they can afford their police. |
Toju200:how, when, where.... what same thing happened? Security officials using live bullets on protesters... This is barbaric and crass. At this point every state should have their police. #endsars was the movement. #endpolicebrutality because the cops who extort and kill were controlled from Abuja, people feel helpless when their grievances cant be solved by local and state government. what you get is a pressure cooker effect. |
demolition:As stated before power if not adequately checked often turns seemingly rational humans into blood-thirsty maniacs with no foresight and capacity for reasoning. We have constantly advised the military to stand its personnel down as this agitation has, HAD nothing to do with them, but just like the drunkard that is just never sure at what point he losses his senses, so do humans in positions of power tend not to listen when most relevant. How does anyone in their right mind think this helps to ease tensions that started with #endsars. If the government were sincere, state police would be propagated immediately along with a greater share of the revenue sharing formula for the states to enable them maintain capable police services in each state. isn't that how this current government got into power? restructuring? anyone remember. This was such a low hanging fruit for the government, but as usual common sense is not always common. I GET COCONUT HEAD, I NO DEY HEAR WORD Government, listen to your people. The people have the power, always. Amazing thing is that, Nigerians that were on the fence before have been tipped over the edge even when 100's of youth have been killed extra-judicially by so called police. The labor of our heroes past shall never be in vain. Nigerians have lost their fear and hence have been radicalized, it only gets more difficult from here on out. Stock up on food stuffs, its going to be a long road to freedom. God bless Nigeria. Inshallah, we shall overcome. |

jteku:Nigeria would have reached its full potential when it starts making its own fighter jets. And this might happen sooner than we think, with the JF-17. If Nigeria is really aiming to purchase 40 block 3's as I've read somewhere, then Nigeria must insist on local assembly and fabrication of some parts of this bird. In that case Nigeria has a foot in the door as regarding the development of fighter jets. Hopefully Ajaokuta will come on stream soon to be able to produce different kinds of metal and steel alloys needed in the fabrication of the frame of the JF-17. But to make this possible, ultimately sustainable, and devoid of the usual public sector bureaucracy, private fabrication companies should be enlisted, a few dozen of them, to produce to specification precision machined parts that would be needed in the final assembly line. A network of smaller factories focused on areas of specializations is much more sustainable and will employ/train more skilled workers than one huge factory making everything. Japan did it this way for decades until consolidations. But even after consolidations this network of smaller factories still remain indispensable to their industry, because now they make spare parts for all kinds of frames and engines, from motorcycles, cars, planes, turbines, rockets and missiles. The profession is precision metals machining, once a skilled workers learns this from a master and is able to read technical drawings, they can manufacture any part conceivable. |
Litmus:its a common misconception to think that when people talk of revolution they mean the overthrow of a government, but according to the definition of a revolution, it means a forcible overthrow of a government or social order in favor of a new system. In the case of a democratic country like Nigeria, the only revolution that can occur currently is the forcible overthrow of a social order, referring to particular sub-systems of social structures and institutions. Of course, a social revolution can always be averted if leaders in government listen to the grievances of the people and act to ameliorate these real issues. But most importantly, bad behavior must always be seen to be immediately punished, if not, it breeds resentment and frustrations. all of these act as destabilizing factors to a democratic country. Now that Nigerians with their protest #endsarsnow have succeeded in the disbandment and dissolution of the SARS by the IGP. Government must always have its ears to the ground, that's what's called a listening government. Hear the rumblings of the people and think 2, 3 steps ahead about what they are capable of doing when bad behavior is not punished, especially by people who took oaths to serve, secure and protect lives and property; this tends to radicalize the citizens watching, and when they come out to the streets, government should not say they are "clout-chasers" as one police-person said recently, far from the truth. Nigeria's democracy is maturing at break-neck speed, the old-guards must notice this fact. Information is easily accessible and at the finger tips of most Nigerians now, they are not ignorant, they are not clueless, they see injustice for what it is. Government at all levels, SIT UP, Nigerians are watching, they are increasingly becoming fearless. be warned. |
Odunayaw:Hopefully the current Nigerians in power don't loose their senses and decide to call in the military to quell these protests because that will be the beginning of the end to the Tucano deal... FACTS. We all know and are all witness to the way power tend to make seemingly intelligent people act in such a crass and senile manner. Already I'm beginning to see some videos (2) of soldiers dealing with protesters on the issue of #endsarsnow. This is not sensible and very short-sighted, the military command must ensure that its personnel stay out of this development. The Nigerians protesting #endsarsnow have no beef with the military YET, so there's no need for the military to invite itself into this tussle, absolutely no reason, because it will have only itself to blame when the self-styled moral police America decide to postpone, or outright cancel the tucano deal after how many years of waiting by Nigeria. All it takes is a wrong move from the military to send the whole deal up in flames. Nigerian NGO's CSO's and Amnesty Nigeria already have their sights aimed, locked and loaded waiting for any wrong move concerning how these protests are quelled. #endsarsnow might be the trending hashtag now but of course if a honest and comprehensive reform of SARS is proposed Nigerians will take that as a win. Ideas that will make sense to most Nigerians today SARS officials must compulsorily wear a Body-Cam whenever they are on duty. This can be as simple as a smart phone with a battery pack. or better yet a shoulder/chest worn go-pro-like device with battery pack 24-48hrs battery time for (1picture/second plus full audio recording) SARS officials must download their Body-Cam footage at their station at the end of every shift before they check-out. SARS officials must check in all their weapons when they go off duty and check-out their weapons before going on duty. SARS must have a complaints hotline/app to report incidents, whether anonymously or identified. All that's needed by the caller is the complaint, time and place, and this facts can be corroborated or disputed by internal investigators using the stored data from Body-Cams. SARS must have internal investigation units tasked solely with internal investigations of complaints made against SARS officials. Erring SARS officials must be disciplined and if after numerous warnings, said officials must be fired. SARS officials must be paid in full and on time list of demands for if and when #endsarsnow reaches negotiation stages. anyone care to add to the ideological list of demands? Government must be seen to respond to its citizens, if they had been listening it wouldn't have gotten to this stage. PS: let no one underestimate the scale and reach of these protests, both online and on-ground. Revolutions usually start by a mass-awakening of citizens ready to risk their life to call government to order. Government, WAKE UP |

LTGEN:dopeness of life... hopefully the UAV champions will take this as a win... because it is a win....10 CH4's(if confirmed) will greatly improve situational awareness for personnel on the front line. 30-40 hours loiter time , with precision weapons (AR-1 or AR-2) should reduce the instances of ambush suffered by military personnel. We need more though, at least 40 - 50 of these; 10-15 always operational 10-15 as standby(take over from operational UAV's after 1 month; maintenance schedule) 10-15 for external engagements(coastal/west Africa/Sahel) 10-15 for continuous training, eventually no military patrol team/ strike team in Nigeria should leave base without the cover of a designated UAV ready to be re-directed to specified coordinates. Although we need many more small and specialized tactical UAV's, for example: tethered drones for base perimeter security, the super camps have made bases a lot safer but having tethered UAV's in camp to provide additional layer of perimeter security wouldn't hurt. Now, talking about one weak link we will definitely encounter with using these drones: precision munitions; the military needs to start looking at ways of reverse engineering the AR 1 missile that they got with the CH3 drones, they definitely will been acquiring more air to ground missiles along with the new purchase of the Ch4 UAV's but judging from the videos released by DHQ about 70% of the strikes are dumb bombs, they are accurate enough but boosting the level of precision strikes to 60% will greatly increase the efficiency of the CH4 platform. AR-1 missile should and must be reverse engineered, the newer and lighter AR-2 should also be looked into. AR-1 is a replica of the AGM-114 Hellfire. The military need to cut down the cost of these precision munitions in order to strike even more effectively. MOU's between the military and technical colleges, private universities, steel/aluminum fabrication companies, private software companies should help speed development. Some of the components of an air to ground missile like the Hellfire or AR-1 include, laser seeker, rocket propulsion(military already has this figured out), guidance(motherboard, circuits, semiconductors and software) this section can be replicated using Raspberry pi or Arduino boards. The warhead section, well, they can figure this one out too. Point is once one is disassembled by a group of very curious engineers the smartest physics students working with capable software engineers, they should be able to replicate it using mostly off the shelf components; the replicated missile might be larger at first but so long as it works, they can figure out how to make the next one smaller. Nigeria has all the required professional personnel needed for a project like this. |

demolition:is DSS recruiting to infiltrate the numerous ideologically deranged groups in the north east, north west? With Nigeria, there are other scenarios possible, but this is the best case scenario. One of the DSS core mandate is to defend the Federal Republic of Nigeria against domestic threats |
komekn:Respectfully disagree.... we just need to put the blame where the blame lies and stop seeking for short term fixes. If one remembers clearly, a certain candidate campaigned through a certain party on the "we will end boko haram" mantra. We should lay all short comings at this persons doorstep, anything other than that will be shying away from the truth. As said earlier, requesting despotic Chad to enter Nigerian territory is a bad bad idea.... it was a bad idea when we first tried it, thank God it was stopped quickly, it is a bad idea now, and will forever be a bad idea. This is a sure way to annexation. And to insinuate that despotic Chad and its 30 year ruler uprooted boko haram from its territory is another PR campaign perpetrated for the benefit of a despot, in a country without a free press or freedom of speech. Any news that comes out of despotic Chad should be taken with a grain of salt because truth is never alive in any despotic country especially one such as Chad. As late as April Despotic Chad continues to loose soldiers to the deranged boko haram. Understandably despotic Chad is Nigeria's neighbor so they have to work together, but each much remain in their territory, Nigeria should not and can never trust Idris deby, the Military know him all too well, he is a two timing s.o.b. Him and his goons must remain confined in Chad. They have their eyes on the wealth present in the lake chad. Our best bet is still the Military of a democratic federal republic of Nigeria. Facts. |
ugo4u:U know what @ugo4u, after hearing Zulum open his mouth to ask for the support of the Chadian army, must confess, it is a sorry end to the ambitious project one was hoping the Governor had in mind. @ugo4u I am sorry about all the insinuations I made about your person directly or indirectly. I guess its also easy to be a useful idiot in a game one is not aware is been played, or at least had forgotten a game was been played. I usually don't forget easily but Zulum is a new player, so it was easy to fall in to the trap of been played for a fool ![]() Zulum's project one hoped was the utter self-believe in the people of Borno above and beyond anyone else. It seems like the Borno Governor wants to wish this war away, looking for the seemingly easiest way out. How does one think calling on the despotic Chadian government, one who has been constantly implicated in the perpetuation of this conflict will help in any way. Forget the mindless PR offered to despotic chad by so called reasonable Nigerian journalist who spew jargon acting like useful idiots. If it looks like Chadians will help in the short run, that's because in the long run it will certainly lead to the annexation of large parts of Borno , parts that border lake chad. Isn't it obvious to Zulum that this conflict is conveniently perpetrated in areas rich in oil and gas. As is the constant thought going around the rest of the nation, there seems to be a stronger affinity between the Borno elites, Chad and Niger, than there is to the Borno people. Doesn't it seem like Borno people have been deliberately under educated hence they cannot seem to muster the will to agitate against their masters? One can understand why people say the Elites of Borno do not want this war to end. How does a Governor of a state open his whole mouth to utter such a senile sentence as to request for Chadians to enter Nigerian territory, we tried it before, it was a stupid idea then, it is a stupid idea now, and will forever be a stupid idea. This is absolutely demoralizing, judging by the comments offered on here, military personnel must be feeling a certain gut wrenching twist. Or maybe they've known this all along and have been happy to dance systematically to the tune of the ridiculously absurd, all the while using this opportunity to modernize their assets. Borno elites have sold its people down down the river, so it seems. Does it now mean that anybody who feels sorry for them is the utter fool in this scenario? because they cant see the power play. “Zulum rationalised that no single army anywhere in the world has ever succeeded in quelling insurgency" I mean what kind of utter rubbish is he talking about. Dude stfu. Zulum will rather seek the bosom of despotic Chad than openly castigate the President? Allahu Akbar Its true @ugo4u I never really understood the fact that Zulum always sings the praises of the president but viciously attacks the Military. Common sense should suggest that if there's a problem, it should be from the head? is it because they belong to the same political party, or better yet, is it because they both identify as Northerners, hence they cant publicly disagree? but this is political talk, and we are not allowed to have that here, so wouldn't go much into that. Wouldnt go into the political beginnings of the so called boko haram either, those who know, know. To the Military personnel in Borno, now it is understood why you preserve your institution jealously. Why you protect it from been totally eviscerated by the powers working against you. The Borno elite do not want you to succeed. We see it clearly now. |
kabe1:The fact that there's even talk about this issue of Nigeria building larger vessels is what's busting brain. Because if one were to think back 5 maybe 10 years ago, even as recent as a couple of years, judging by all the nay-sayers and prophets of doom, Nigeria could never develop. Well, seeing it before our very eyes, yes its good to criticize and not get cocky but what cannot be underestimated is the level of technological progress made and the level of local capacity built in-house. I agree with both @kabe1 @FieldMarshall06. on the one hand I think we should aim for a larger vessel after Seaward Defence Boat 3 but maybe what might help in achieving that faster will be a technical partner, one that will provide a handful of engineers to come in country and guide the process of development of a larger vessel. And I remember reading sometime ago that the Naval Dockyard Limited said something about government ordering 10 SDBs ? Or even more ingenious would be to have detailed technical supervision of the crafts been produced by Damen Shipyards in UAE so as to replicate same once the technical skills and know-how is acquired. This should be one of the core mandates of the DSS or maybe a newly created secret agency solely tasked to acquire technical schematics, blueprints, knowledgeable personnel and information for use by Nigeria's industries, albeit after a process of bidding. Once schematics are available for a ship like the 1300ton tank landing ship, high quality steel and other integral parts of the ship can be sourced on the open market. Private companies need to come into this space pronto. yes, there are several private companies involved in the building of smaller boats, but they need to up their game fast, Naval Dockyard Limited is seriously whooping their behind which is just marvelous to see, that a government run enterprise outclasses all private companies in this industry of ship building. kudos ![]() |

kabe1:wawuu no jokes.. bloodied nose is an understatement. is it just me or are tanks becoming obsolete by the day. or are they just ineffective when against a side well armed with combat UAV's. saw some videos of the strikes on tanks, precision strikes on them, looked like target practice one after the other... like some video game... |
On going Azerbaijan Armenia clash over Nagorno-Karabakh region (Republic of Artsakh) Republic of Artsakh declares martial law, and military mobilization for men above 18. Borno State, you dey hear am? Borno State - Area: 57,799 km² Population - 4,171,104 Republic of Artsakh - Area: 11,458 km² Population - 150,932 The excuse that people will die, so they shouldn't fight is a lazy argument. demolition:Thank God some people are not Governor sha, This type of reasoning can be injurious to the medulla. So someone that can be chilling in Maiduguri from day 1 till his last day in office, would rather prefer to endanger himself first just so that he can go and chill in Maiduguri later.... you see, this commonsense thing ehnn... no be joke ohh... good God. The citizens can only be used as human shield if they have no shotguns to defend themselves. Repeat after me: more shotguns for the CJTF to defend themselves. more shotguns for the CJTF to defend themselves. more shotguns for the CJTF to defend themselves. halleluyah, insha allah Borno shall overcome. The mistake some eternally optimistic people continually make is the believe that so called Nigerians living in Lagos, Imo or Abuja should care about Borno more than the Ancestral owners of Borno. Don't be a joker, everybody hold their territory, Nigeria is a federal nation for a reason. Everybody, hold your territory, hold your ground, if you cannot hold it, you will loose it, and when you loose it, the rest of Nigeria will negotiate with the people that occupy it afterwards.... facts. Borno grow sense ohhh, grow sense fast, re-occupy your fertile land, re-occupy your economically viable lake chad, re-occupy your waters... be fruitful, multiply, I don't think that's ever been an issue anyways ... Educate them though, free education till senior secondary school, you will never regret it..... join the winning team... education is king...... The rest of Nigeria is rooting for you to win. Babagana, we are all rooting for you to win. Don't let a Nigerian living in Abuja, Lagos or Imo tell you not to occupy your lands... Lagos and Imo have their own fight to fight. This war will be finally over when the owners of the land decide enough is enough, like we're seeing with Babagan Zulum. Kudos to the Nigerian Military, filled to the brim by every ethnic group available, this is Federal Nigeria's contribution to the struggle. Borno, wake up. |
Redemption1: sorry.... dont mind them jor.. |
demolition:Is it your body? and who will be doing the rolling in. The gleeful nature with which humans wish death, pain and destruction is absolutely shocking and bewildering. Babagan Zulum should continue to resettle these people to their land so that they can hold it albeit with expanded vigilante groups armed with more shotguns. The CJTF, The Agro-Rangers, must be expanded, communication gadgets employed too. Do not leave your land, as long as these lands are economically viable, farming, fishing, mining, no one should be encouraged to leave, they cannot be forced to stay either, but encouraging them to stay on their land means giving them the tools to defend themselves, ,these people are not cowards, they want to fight and defend their land. Government must provide the means...shotguns, more shotguns for the CJTF |
ugo4u:"those agents of darkness will strike innocent people" Firstly, it is scientifically incorrect to associate darkness with evil, this is part of the hangover some humans suffer due to the genocide and violent overthrow of existing kingdoms by trusted former trading partners. Those Greedy traders used seemingly new religions insidiously to justify why their trading partners with a different color needed to be exterminated, enslaved and robbed of all their belongings. It is scientifically false to associate light/white with good same as it is scientifically false to associate dark/black with bad, good or bad has absolutely nothing to do with lightness or darkness. take for instance a sentence like: "his heart is dark", this is supposed to imply his heart is bad/evil, but thinking about it critically, is this scientifically correct? no, when the military eventually cut out shekau's heart, will the color be black? take for instance a sentence like: "there is a dark cloud over him" this is supposed to mean a person is strange, evil or cursed. But if we examine this critically, dark clouds only form when its about to rain, are we therefore saying that rain is bad and/or evil? When the planes flew into those twin towers, was it dark out? nope it was daylight. When Bernie Madoff scammed all those people for billion of dollars, did he do it at night? nope, his office where people would have walked into to get scammed was tall and shinning with lots of light in it. Point is evil is evil, good is good, either or both will happen irrespective of color. Now that we know what to look out for, when next we hear someone use any of the examples above, our conversation can go like this Note: employ humor, it is effective in ensuring that the information is retained. Timi: his heart is so dark. The enlightened one: No, actually the heart of every human being is pink. facts. Timi: ehn? I mean his heart is dark, every time I question him, he says something bad. The enlightened one: Eiiiiii, so you opened his heart to see the color? is he a smoker? that's the only explanation as to why his heart maybe dark. Timi, I didn't know you are a surgeon oh, wow ![]() Timi: What are you talking about I just mean his heart is evil The enlightened one: Ohh, I see, his heart is evil? that, I understand, but you know Dark/Black does not equal evil. Take yourself as an example, you have this beautiful DARK chocolate skin tone. Its beautiful. ![]() secondly Zullum should sha continue breaking security protocols/advise God forbid if anything happens to him his deputy will takeover and life continues, the security agents that die each time his convoy is attacked is what is paining me seriously Stating the obvious, who takes over if a governor dies, is it not the deputy? see talk oh... so, you're saying he doesn't know this? this would be laughable if it wasn't pathetic. And about security agents dying, rest in peace to the deceased, these people are courageous enough to want to actively participate in the liberation of their people from the hands of a wicked group. The governor needs not force anyone, they are ready to fight, all they need is someone like Babagana to give them hope and show them that its possible, someone to inspire the will to fight. I'm not going to come on here, see security personnel dying, and simply say its their job, because no one can ever be paid enough for this kind of job, it takes something else, it takes been pushed to the wall, and the realization that the brave die one, but a coward dies over and over again. Those who maintain the tempo of this winning fight must be those who have lost everything and who are willing to sacrifice for their children to regain lost glory. This is what money cannot buy, passion, conviction, purpose, will, glory. |
demolition:The death wish is called doing his JOB. Only Human beings with conviction know what this feels like. He is a hero in my book any day. Those innocent souls that have perished by the hand of this deranged cult are all heroes in my book. The military personnel that have willingly laid down their lives to combat these psychopaths are heroes in my book. Those people who despite given a mandate to protect, refuse to better the lives of society either by cowardly acts or by misappropriating funds will forever burn, they shall have no rest, they shall have no sleep. The blood of the innocent will forever torment them wherever they may be, and that curse unfortunately is passed down to their children and their children's children. So if anyone is under the delusion that evil perpetrated with the excuse of "I have children or I'm doing it for my children" gives them a clean pass, better think again, what that person does is to curse not just themselves but also their children. Their children will be forced to pay for the sins of their parents, what kind of parent does that to a child? So to those asking if he has a death wish, YES, he hopes to do much good for society, so much good as to garner eternal goodwill, not just for himself, but for at least 3 generations following him. If I were an unborn child, I will choose this kind of parent. how about you? PS: The people of Baga will be resettled, they should be given the means to defend themselves too; create more officially recognized vigilante groups; lots of able bodied men and women armed with shotguns. Defend you land. Hoorah to the military any day. |
