Montenegro legalised same -sex civil partnerships in a move welcomed Thursday by LGBT groups as a “ big step ” although adoption still remains out of reach .

The law was adopted late Wednesday a year after it was initially voted down.
“ A big step was made towards equality , but the path towards real equality is still ahead of us , ” said Jovan Ulicevic , head of Spektra association for transgender rights.
“ We continue to fight until everyone in the society will be respected , ” Ulicevic said.

Montenegro , which aspires to join the European Union , remains divided over the issue of gay rights. Tolerance has increased in recent years but there is still a strong strain of machismo and social conservatism in the tiny country of 650, 000 people. Seventy percent of Montenegrins considered
homosexuality a disease when the first Gay Pride march was held in 2013 — an event marred by clashes with hooligans .
But more recent surveys have shown that nearly half the population believes that the rights of the LGBT community are not fully respected . However , public expression of affection among same -sex couples is still not widely tolerated , according to surveys .

On Twitter, President Milo Djukanovic, whose ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) backed the law , said Montenegro was taking “ one step closer to joining the most developed world democracies !”.

The Dubai Police have handed over Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Raymond Igbalode , also known as Hushpuppi to the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) .

Also extradited was Olalekan Ponle aka Woodberry, said the Dubai Police in a statement on Thursday. According to the statement , FBI Director, Christopher Wray , “ praised the exceptional efforts exerted by the United Arab Emirate, represented by the Dubai Police General HQ , in combating transnational organised cybercrime including the recent arrest of Raymond Igbalode Abbas , known as “Hushpuppi” and Olalekan Jacob Ponle aka “Woodberry”.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said that Nigerian most-wanted hacker, Ramoni Igbalode, alias Ray hushpuppi, recently arrested by the International Police (Interpol) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation( FBI), has considerable cases of cybercrimes being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The Spokesman for EFCC, Dele Oyewale said in a statement made available to Vanguard that the anti- graft agency ‘is familiar with grisly details of his money laundering transactions, involving many high- profile cybercriminals’ facing trial in Nigeria.

Dele said: “The Commission is engaging with the FBI in tracing the victims of his fraudulent transactions and other fraudsters having direct involvement with him.

“Local cybercriminals with money laundering networks with him, are also being investigated”. It will be recalled that Hushpuppi was arrested on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in the United Arab Emirates in connection with $35 million ventilator scam.

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, says Thursday that the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress is a show of God ’ s anger on the ruling party.

Fayose said the crisis was a price for the role the APC played in impoverishing Nigerians , adding that things would get worse for the party.

The former governor in a statement by his media aide, Lere Olayinka, said the APC had been treating Nigerians with contempt.

The statement read in part , “ For Nigeria to return to the path of progress that it was before the APC took over power , more confusion will have to hit the party till it goes into oblivion.
“ Definitely , their matters will be made worse with time because for Nigeria and its people to return to the path of peace and progress, the APC house of lies that is being nurtured with the blood of Nigerians must collapse".

Fayose, who lamented the killings by bandits in the Northern part of the country especially in Katsina , Kaduna , Zamfara and Sokoto States, said , “ God will never be happy with a party that its government is doing nothing to stop the bloodshed, rape , and destruction of people ’ s sources of livelihood ongoing in the country .
“ It is on record that more than 300 Nigerians have been brutally murdered by bandits in the last three weeks and the APC government has done nothing . Rather , Nigerians who raised concerns are being insulted by the APC government while those who protested are being arrested and detained".

A Devastated mother on social media has posted a tragic tale to seek advice about what steps to take to deal with her dilemma.

According to her, her 17-year-old son simultaneously impregnated her daughters, aged 15 and 13. The woman clarified that she worked during the lockdown, and her kids are trapped at home because of the ban on school activities.
At this time the only person who has access to their home is the cleaner girl who comes to the house to wash and clean. The woman narrating how it happened revealed that she learned that the 15-year-old daughter had pregnancy symptoms.

She confronted her after testing and confirming that she is pregnant, and admitted that she was sleeping with her elder brother, who is only 17 years old. That was when she also revealed her 13-year-old sister has also been sleeping with their brother.

Shocked and saddened, she learned that the youngest daughter is also pregnant and he is responsible as well. She approached the eldest son as politely and kindly as she could, and stated that he had slept with his sisters. In other words he ‘s responsible for their pregnancies.
Today, the woman appears to be a committed Christian and her religion forbids abortion. So, she doesn’t know what to do and asks for help.

That the parent obeyed the PG of the film which may be rated 13 or 18 does not mean she's not doing his/her work well as a parent over a 7 year old girl. Explaining sex education to the child does not include explaining a blood scene in a movie she even shdnt have watched. The explanation you later gave the girl did not explain the blood seen in d movie neither, though it's the right education for a 7 year old. You did well.

All that's needed to be told to her very strongly at that stage is ...your private part is called private cus you're the only one who has access to it. If anyone else tries to access it, scream out without hesitation.

so I was watching a movie in my neighbour's room this afternoon (nollywood to be precise) and the whole summary of the movie was about how a girl was raped when she was very young by her uncle.. In one of the scenes of the rape, there was blood on the bedsheet where it happened; my neighbour's daughter (about 7years ) now asked how the meaning of the blood on the bedsheet but instead of her to explain, she shut her up saying :'that's why she doesn't like watching those kind of movies with her'...

Later in the day, I called the girl and tried to explain my little knowledge of rape to her; I just told her if there is any uncle touching her illegally , she should not hesitate to tell her mother or father as it can destroy her future.

so my point of writing this is to ask this question : why don't African parents give adequate sex education to their children? ?
