Troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army (NA) conducting clearance operations along Anambra/Imo States border communities today dislodged a criminal hideout used by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate; Eastern Security Network ( ESN) in Orsumoghu, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. The notorious groups have serially launched attacks on defenceless civilians and security targets from the hideout.

During the clearance operations along the border communities, troops were met with stiff resistance from the dissident elements, as they closed in on their enclave. They were overwhelmed by troops' superior firepower, forcing them to abandon their hideout. After over running their camp, the gallant troops carried out further exploitation and recovered a cache of arms, comprising 22 Pump Action rifles, 19 Dane guns and 6 machetes. Other items recovered include assorted mobile phones, simcards, monitor and a laptop. One operational Hilux vehicle and various voodoo items and charms were also recovered.

Investigations revealed that the hideout served as the operational base of one Innocent Obieke (aka Double Lion), who is said to be the head of the vigilante group in the area, but surreptitiously coordinates the criminal activities of IPOB/ESN in the area. The suspect is currently on the run, while troops have intensified operations to close in on him and his cohort.

Members of the general public are please enjoined to continue to support troops and other security agencies with credible and timely information that will lead to the arrest of criminal elements in their vicinity.

The continued detention of an innocent priest of a Roman Catholic church has remained a very sad one. The crime of the innocent priest was that he was posted to a Catholic parish in the war torn Effium community. The crisis in Effium community created a refuge problem which as a priest, he has a moral duty to look after them. This necessitated that he visits them occasionally to attend to their needs and possibly encourage them with the word of God.

Rev Fr Timothy Ngwuta went to Izhi where most of his members were refugees on 11/12/2021. As he went to Nworie Izhi to visit some of his parishioners who ran to Izhi for refuge, he ran into some security agents who claimed they were on stop and search mission. He was arrested by them and later framed up that he was one of the people responsible for the crisis in Effium community and with other heavy allegations levelled against him without any iota of truth.

Recall that his parish and all he had in life was completely burnt down and he narrowly escaped being killed in Ugoeze community where he was a parish priest of the Catholic church.

Rev Fr Ngwuta was severely beaten by the AK men which has made it difficult for him to walk yet he is still in detention.

As I'm writing now, this innocent priest is still in detention with the injuries they inflicted on him.

Suspected IPOB Spy, Glory Okolie, Regains Freedom After Nine Months In Detention (Photos)

Glory Okolie, the lady accused of being a spy for the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra has been set free from police custody, IGBERETV reports.

Okolie, 21, who spent nine months in prison was released after perfecting her bail conditions.

Okolie was detained by the Police Intelligence Response Team unit of the Nigeria Police in Imo state, since June 17, 2021.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja granted bail to Gloria Okolie in the sum of N10million with two sureties.

Ruling on the bail application, the presiding judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo admitted her to bail with sureties one of whom must be at least a level-14 Civil Servant while the other must own landed property and must have lived at the present address for at least 2 years.

Okolie who was accused of an offence bordering on terrorism was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly being friends with a suspected member of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

She was later transferred to Abuja.

While reacting to the bail conditions, her lawyers, Ihensekhien Samuel commended the judge for admitting her to bail though the terms were stringent but they would apply for variation in due course.
