Reason they stay back is because they have nothing to offer for Christmas while eating more food than everyone who'd have contributed something... They're very entitled and easily offended when called out for their wayward behaviour.

Come January, they'd leave with the entire household grocery, one of them a few years back even went to the extent of leaving with my feminine wash.

It's normal.We are humans but let me make something clear to you.That feelings you have for that person will die with time so you have to be very logical when dealing with things like this as a man.
You should be going for someone who loves you not someone you love.The reason is because the person who loves you will do anything to protect you and make you happy as a man.You will always value respect as a man.The lady who doesn't love you will hardly respect you.
