There’s nothing less professional online than a website that says “Hey, look, I used a free website builder!” Your business will gain so much more credibility by having a professional website designer help you design and build your website.
With careful planning, designed responsively, and with your customers’ needs in mind, your website will provide a professional image and give potential customers a great experience when they visit, whether it’s on their computer, their tablet, or their mobile phone.

2. IT SAVES YOU MONEY IN THE LONG TERM
As a small business owner, especially one that is just starting out, you’re probably thinking you can’t afford a professional website. But you really can’t afford NOT to. Unidentified gunmen ambushed and killed two police officers in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The deceased officers who are attached to Karim Lamido police division of the command, were shot dead along Jen road on Monday, January 25.

Spokesman of the state Police Command, DSP David Misal, who confirmed the attack, said the sergeant and constable were killed when they alighted after their patrol vehicle broke down.
It was gathered that the officers were trying to repair the van when the gunmen jumped out from the bush and shot them dead.

“On the 25/01/21 at about 1900hrs, two policemen attached to Karim Lamido LGA were attacked and killed while on their way to their duty post at Jen community. The incident occurred at a point in an isolated area in Karim Lamido Jen road when two of the police officers, a sergeant and Constable stopped to rectify a fault noticed from the vehicle they are driving. Suddenly armed men emerged from the bush and opened fire on them,” Misal said.

One person has reportedly died while several others were left injured after protesting members of the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shi’ites and officials of the Nigeria Police Force clashed in Abuja on Tuesday January 26.

The protest kicked off at the National Human Rights Commission junction in the Maitama area of Abuja, with members of the group chanting anti-government songs to demand the release of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, and his wife, Zeenat, from the Kaduna Correctional Centre. El-Zakzaky and his wife were arrested in December 2015 after members of the movement clashed with the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna state.

Sahara Reporters reports that the police officers fired teargas to disperse the crowd and afterwards allegedly fired live bullets that killed one of the protesters.

A landlord, David Ntiero Okon, has been arrested for allegedly setting his tenant ablaze in Calabar, Cross River State, over her failure to pay N11, 000 house rent.

The incident happened on Wednesday at No 9, Ansa Ewa Street, Cobham Town in the Bayside area of Calabar South.

The landlord allegedly poured fuel on Mrs Mary Samuel’s room and ignited a fire that engulfed the one-room apartment.

An eyewitness and security guard who is a tenant in the house identified only as Obongette stated that Mary, who lived in the house for over seven years, owed the landlord N11, 000 after her fish business dwindled because of frequent attacks by militants in the Calabar Water Channel.

The Presidency on Friday says the prices of food items in the country are dropping as a result of the agricultural reforms of the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, made this known while featuring on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme.

Shehu was reacting to the President’s directive Thursday that the Central Bank of Nigeria should not release money for food and fertiliser importation henceforth.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in their reactions, warned that the directive could cause further inflation, saying the country was not sufficient in food production and still needed forex to import some food items.

Speaking also on the TV programme on Friday, a senior lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Abuja, Dr Ahmed Adamu, faulted the timing of the policy because of the inflation already in the economy.

Adamu said, “It is also a wrong time because we have not built the right infrastructure and not supplied the right agriculture facilities and we have not built the entire agriculture value chain. We are also facing insecurity and a lot of farmers have been displaced from their farms and they cannot produce much. And now the government is discouraging cheap importation from other countries. It is going to create a lot of food scarcity in the country.

“Now we are seeing a high rise in the prices of food items in the country and this measure is going to increase the prices of food items further at a time when we just came out of COVID-19 lockdown.”

The scholar stressed that Nigerians should not be punished for the failure and inability of government and policy-makers to protect the naira, adding that the government’s decision is “a recipe for hyperinflation”.

Five Detention officers and a nurse have been charged for the death of an inmate who repeatedly exclaimed “I can’t breathe” at the North Carolina jail.

They are been charged with involuntary manslaughter of a black man as they tried unsuccessfully to remove his cuffs. The black man has been identified as John Neville, aged 56.

John Neville was booked into the Forsyth County jail in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Dec. 1., 2019, on a charge of assaulting a woman, according to the authorities. About 24 hours later, Mr. Neville experienced an unknown medical condition that caused him to fall from the top bunk of his cell and hit the concrete floor, according to the Forsyth County district attorney, Jim O’Neill.

Amidst the rising cases of coronavirus across the country, more than 30 healthcare workers attached to two of the Lagos State isolation centres have been disengaged.

The affected workers who were part of the first set of volunteers at the infectious disease hospital (IDH), Yaba, and those drafted to the Onikan isolation centre, include medical doctors, nurses and pharmacists.

While the details of those disengaged health workers at the IDH are still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, those from the Onikan isolation centre include eight doctors, 12 nurses and two pharmacists.

However, PREMIUM TIMES gathered that three of the disengaged officials, comprising two nurses and a pharmacist, have tested positive for coronavirus. They are currently on admission at the isolation centre located at Agidingbi area of Lagos, where infected healthcare workers are being managed.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control ( NCDC ) has confirmed the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cross River State.

According to the NCDC, Cross River State had no record of the virus until yesterday when it recorded 5 cases after 575 samples were tested and confirmed positive.

The confirmation for the cases in Cross River comes several days after the Chief Medical Director of the University of Calabar, Ikpeme Ikpeme disclosed that five patients including two health workers tested positive for COVID-19 in the hospital.

With the recent occurrence, all 36 states of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have now confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Nigerian Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has on Sunday reacted to the arrested of Omoyele Sowore as it has been confirmed by The Department of State Services (DSS), that it's operatives took Sowore into custody.

Sowore is the convener of ‘#RevolutionNow’ protests ( Sowere Revolution ), which has been scheduled to hold nationwide on Monday, August 5.

The President, Buhari has condemned the killing of 60 mourners in Borno on Sunday.

Through a press statement released by Buhari's spokesman, Garba Shehu he said

The President had received assurances from the armed forces that the terrorists who committed the killings would pay a “big price” for their action..
“The Federal Government is firmly and resolutely committed to taking necessary measures to safeguard the nation’s security.

Boko haram insurgents operating has reportedly killed 60 mourners in a village in Nganzai local government area of Borno state.

The Daily Trust reports that hat the attack by the terrorists came a week after some communities confronted Boko Haram operatives in the area and killed 11 of them. However, the indigenes of Nganzai local government reportedly seized several rifles from the insurgents during the attack.

According to the Chairman of Nganzai Local Government, Mohammed Bulama, Two weeks ago, Boko Haram insurgents attacked Badu village but the attack was repelled by the villagers and members of the vigilante group

A 47-year-old Texas woman has been arrested after authorities discovered she and her daughter had been living in a house with her mother's corpse, police said.

After finding skeletal remains in the residence, investigators believe Delissa Navonne Crayton's 71-year-old mother fell in 2016, hit her head and died a few days later while lying on the floor.
According to police, the fall was non-life threatening, but Crayton did not provide adequate assistance to her mother.


"From 2016 until July 7, 2019, approximately 3 years, Delissa Crayton resided in the residence with her daughter who was at the time under the age of 15," the Seguin Police Department said.


The remains were located in one room of the home, while Crayton and her daughter lived in the second bedroom, police said. Investigators said they're awaiting final confirmation to identify the remains.


Crayton was arrested for "Injury to a Child under the age of 15 through recklessly, by omission, causing to a child, serious mental deficiency, impairment or injury," police said.
That is a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 fine, police said.


"This is an ongoing and active investigation being conducted by Seguin Police Department, the Texas Rangers and the Guadalupe County Attorney's Office,"
the department said. Police are expecting more charges against Crayton.

A pastor of a Pentecostal church, Pope Paul, has been arrested for allegedly impregnating a 15-year-girl.
The mother of the victim reported the matter at Igando police station against Paul, who resides in Egan, Igando, Lagos.The complainant alleged that sometime in August, 2017, her daughter was brought to Lagos to live with the pastor and his wife.
She stated further that she discovered that the victim was pregnant sometime in June 2018, and that when she interrogated her, she mentioned the name of the suspect.
The victim said in her statement that it all started in January, 2018, when the suspect started having sexual intercourse with her, and got her pregnant.
She stated further that she gave birth to a baby girl sometime in April, 2019. The suspect has since been arrested and charged to court.

The legendary singer-songwriter, Stevie Wonder announced during a concert in London Saturday that he will be undergoing kidney surgery.

The former Minster of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke has forfeited some pieces of jewelry and a customized gold iPhone, all valued at $40m to the Federal Government.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos had on Friday (July 5, 2019) ordered the former minister to forfeit the items to the federal government.

The order followed an ex parte application filed by the Ibrahim Magu-led Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to the Premium Times, The pieces of jewellery were recovered by the EFCC in homes traced to Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke who is now a fugitive in London. She fled Nigeria after the 2015 elections as the EFCC moved to put her on trial for alleged corruption.
