Very correct. I wanted to ask the difference between a Welder and an Iron bender. My Structural Engineer goofed big time when I was building as I wasn't around when the building started up to decking level.

It was when we were about to do the decking that I called a seasoned iron bender, with a lot of construction experiences under his belt, to do the iron works for me. On getting to my site, because of some structural defects he saw, he advised places that we needed to put hidden beams, open beams and other reinforcement amendments to support the integrity of the building in certain places of the decking that were not in the structural plan as the building is a lengthy one.

My "COREN" registered structural Engineer agreed with him completely. That was how the building was saved. Since then, I had relied on the iron bender for certain things pertaining to the building.

Those Iron benders too are very good, experience gannered for so many years cannot be toyed with.
I have one here in Ibadan, I knew him through my bigger boss.
I respect him a lot.

Good evening family. Pls due to the price of 12mm my welder advise me to use 10mm for lintel work against 12mm.
Is this advisable

Hmmm.
It's even a bit proper to get the advice from an iron bender and not a welder.
If you use 10mm, you will be using more rods on each lintel compared to 12mm.
Well, let your engineer decide what to go for.

Apt. I went to see a tiler recommended to me by a friend where he was working in someone's house. Looking at the house, I knew money was not a problem to the owner. But the kind of finishing, mismatched tiling and irrelevant things but highly expensive I saw made me to shook my head.

But our Nigerian architect won't dare that; it's only paper they'll give you.

Architects are even more flexible now. We exchange pdf with clients a lot these days, especially when the design is at the preliminary stage.

I don’t see you achieving loooooots of natural lights with the current design. Your upper floor will be so dark, you’ll need artificial lighting to access madams bedroom during daytime.

Having 2 windows in all room is not a guarantee you’d have natural lighting in all rooms. Remember you’ll pass through the stair and the lobby before you access the rooms.
