The people are really not at fault but our designers/architects who are stucked in their old ways.

Well, you are right partially.
But budget too is a great determinant of an excellent design.
Most clients work on low budget, some just wanna escape the rigour of being tenants.
The country is just not encouraging nor helping any sector.
None the less, change is essential.
