I can confirm that MTN ODU exists. Marketers from MTN called me and told me to check my local dealership but unfortunately they don't have it. I called a friend in PH who went to their office and they said it will be available by next week.

You people in Lagos can easily confirm it at your local dealership and let us know if we should abandon Airtel ODU. Although its monthly payment is 30k as against the 25k of Airtel

Omo if it's really a thing and truly unlimited I'll be going for it without a second thought. This month has been one of my worst with Airtel.

Normal sim sub working well on phone while ODU cant even browse at night. 2 weeks in and the experience has been so terrible.

I think you might make do with just the x25pro by the time you're able to get it working like Peter and fuckboys(bro probably needs to retire this handle ). It should work out of the box, but even me was surprised to see it misbehave recently. Maybe you need to spend 10k to tweak it but I'm sure that's not necessary.

Omo I removed my lnb from my dstv dish and hosted the ODU there. I tried it indoors but the reception was terrible even with that install helper app.

On the current location outdoors signal says 'excellent' with complete circle but as we all know, Airtel is still Airtel regardless of what your signal says. Na only 5G I no get here.

Try all the Airtel Access Point Names (APNs). Try them while having network mode on Auto.

Did you see 4G and 4G+ signal when you were trying? In my case, when I chose 'internet' as the APN, there's only 3G and it works. But that's not what I wanted, so I tried other APNs.

Did 3G work for you?

I set to 5G & 4G NSA. Then 4G only.. Nothing worked. I didn't try 3G only.

I also tried the apn thing but nothing worked. I don't remember if I did the 'internet' only apn option sha.

Na when next network bad & I get strength to carry ladder I go try again.

After playing around with the APN, 4G now works in the X25pro. If the network mode is Auto and you use only 'internet' as the APN, the router works but on 3G only.

Turns out APN is critical to it. But it didn't give these issues since I have been using it; not even the base X25 gave this APN issue.

Whenever it works, the connection is reasonably stable though.

So what conditions are the 4G option working with?

I tried using the ODU sim yesterday in the newly Paragon tweaked X25pro. It worked and I left it for the whole day. The experience was not bad at all.

Today, however, I returned and inserted the sim from my mifi into the x25pro and the thing was proving stubborn, refused to work. It was shocking. I tweaked the APN, used Auto, nothing worked. I even changed the IMEI a few times just to play with that feature. E no still work. I put the sim in both my small MIFIs (M30 and Navtech), it worked.

Well, it did manage to work on the X25pro when I changed the APN to just 'internet' and set the network mode to 3G only. I figured network (4G bands and cells) was not strong. The 3G only wasn't useful enough so I resorted to putting it back to my trusted G5F and that one has some functional LTE Bands.

Wondering what just happened. I have tried putting the sim in the X25pro a few times after the ordeal and same thing is happening. I will assume it's temporary.

I did everything besides changing apn to internet and using 3g only mode.

Is yours unlocked?

Go inside the setting, under Internet Function, go to sim function.....set the settings as External SIM card

Bn there, done that. All network parameters are green and active including 4G+ but it won't work.

I did the physical sim swap recently, tried on day 1 nothing. Now trying a 2nd time same thing. Not even 1kb

Day 2 of trying out the ODU sim on my X25pro and it's not working. Do I need to change anything guys?

I even reset the X25pro yet nothing.

That's the default router it comes with on this package. At 50Mbps I don't think a Wifi 6 router will make any difference.

Bros calm down, this is so false. The issues with the Sims boils down to how the sims were provisioned during registration. I have 2 ODU lines and I can say it for free that one works better than the other, infact with the particular good sim I rarely have downtime, while the other sim just jumps from one issue to the other, note that I have tested them on the same router and same position and the difference in performance is like night and day. So I simply dumped the troublesome sim and am using the good sim with no issues.
NB: Both ODUs came with sim cards originally.

Finally browsing well since yesterday. Apparently network was completely down in the whole region.

How do I get back my last 5 days though? Any ideas?

I think they have reduced my ODU to 2gb daily because after small browsing it will be disconnected immediately. Even the daily usage report via SMS is no longer coming to me. Otilo

As I entered the last week of my ODU sub, Airtel reduced my speed to nothing. I wanted to try the 30k sub on my router but ended up getting 100gb.

That's very sad. They should be more transparent with their listings.

The thing is with Airtel u just have to make do with whatever u get, it's unfortunate that in this part of the world they get away with these things and the worst is there are no viable alternatives.

Their TV Box is also not unlimited again. Except if users would provide counter evidence. I encouraged someone to leave their good non-smart TV they wanted to swap and get the Android box instead. The folks at the Airtel office told him it's 100GB FUP, and 2GB daily thereafter.

So, I opened up this Dayo Induction cooker, I discovered that a leg of the temperature sensor under the plate is out of it's socket. I quickly fix it back and boom! it's now working perfectly

Unheard of, that ODU SIM no work inside X25pro. You sure say the swap was successful and your ODU isn't in fact still using the eSIM?

It didn't work, not even 1kb was loaded though it was active.

Had to go find the Allen key to insert the sim in the ODU and started working immediately. Although this morning network situation is back to being terrible.

My present situation with Airtel is so bad right now. I can't use my internet during day time since renewal of my current sub.

Calls to 300 is not clear at all.

Customer rep ignores twitter messages.

I think it's unfair to berate a user for trying out a product whether cheaper or not. To set the record straight, I still use the Dayo but no complaint & I believe other users do too. Maybe his was just a case of a faulty unit or with further troubleshooting can be resolved.

That being said, yesterday I tested the Maxi Vs Dayo 'Heat focus' and guess what they're basically the same size

Call 300, choose English, then product and services ( option 3 I'm sure ), then press talk to agent.

Make sure to let the auto interactive voice service talk finish before you'd be pressing buttons.


When agent picks up, tell them you want to talk to a supervisor ( insist ).

Tried calling 300 multiple times. Voice keeps breaking can't even make sense of what they're saying 🤦🏾‍♂️

Renewed my sub on the 2nd.. Network has been abysmal since then. Right now can barely do up to 10kb/s

I don't think they respond to emails. Try calling them and sending message on X.

I have the X25 pro, but my ODU is still an esim. Been skeptical about switching to physical sim coz the ODU is placed very high up.

I might re-consider this week though
