After usage for a while I think it's important to put this out there; Induction cooker is great, but not a replacement for gas or infrared. From personal experience, the only major advantages are energy saving and almost zero heat in your kitchen.
The heat (Citing Dayo), is not evenly distributed compared to gas or infrared. It's more focused centrally which is not ideal for some cooking. I understand this is as a result of coil size.
Pot contact surface area to coil size ratio matters for heat distribution and effective cooking, which means different pot sizes will not cook the same.
Stir frying is almost impossible because a shift in contact will result in inefficient cooking.
I have a lot to say but I no get strength. Bottom line is these our portable induction stoves are not superior to the alternatives. Besides energy saving, don't expect magic. |

dollarnaira: Settled for the 800w settings on Dayo. 3 cups of rice get cooked in 40mins. The way naija dey go so, one need this as normal usage and gas as backup.
Thanks to those who opened our eyes to these. The Maxi guy and Dayo guys. Yes o. Gas is now my back up to be used only in emergency cases. The Dayo obviously has smaller coil hence heating is more focused on the center point rather than evenly spread. Also there's a learning curve to it, u go first burn food small 😂. |

codemaster2much: ok thanks for your input bro
I think there might be a mix-up between PWM behavior and MPPT specs here.
For most MPPT controllers (including my PowMr 150V unit), the maximum PV input voltage is independent of the battery system voltage. The 150V rating refers to the PV open-circuit voltage limit, not whether the battery is 12V, 24V, or 48V.
In my case:
- Panels in series ≈ 90–100V Voc - Controller max PV input = 150V
So the setup is still within safe limits.
Also, running panels in series with MPPT is generally more efficient (lower current, less cable loss, better performance in high temperatures), which is why it’s commonly recommended.
If there’s a specific PowMr model where the PV limit derates with battery voltage, I’m open to seeing the exact spec — but from what I’ve checked in the manual, this unit supports the full PV input range across system voltages.
Appreciate the input 👍 You're getting it wrong sir. The 150v max is for 48v for that controller. |

zenith4biz: I just received mine today, from the body it shows it was imported in 2023, that may be the reason for the price On a second look, this one kinda looks smaller compared to the Maxi. Maybe it's the smaller coil.. I didn't think the difference in size between the 1,800w & 2100w would be that much. |

mctfopt: Yeah, stopped using all my non stick cookware this year. I'm now team 304/314 stainless steel cookware. Health is wealth. Crazy you'd see old nonstick cookware, well peeled, on sale as Tokunbo in Nigerian markets. Knowledge, they say, is power. Indeed knowledge is power. Imagine deliberately sampling & selling a health hazard to the public in the name of used items. The other day I came across a video talking about how Talcum (The famous ingredient used in our very popular powders) has been found to contain a highly carcinogenic substance. May God help us all! |

Noticed for about a week now I haven't been getting 4G+
The 4G network only gives me speeds up to about 18Mbps max on good days, except at night when it can reach up to 50Mbps.
So basically I never see even 25Mbps for a while. Airtel head dey shake. |

JoeSef0: Can you add a pic of the cooker and the brand? It's Maxi induction cooker. If you go back on old posts you should see it. Comes with a light steel pot. You can check out your cookware stores for it, alternatively, go to Fouani (Physical stores) or buy from online vendors. On Fouani's site it's listed at 44k but says out of stock. U can get from 50k and above depending on seller. Manage the pics below. I never get power take pics of mine.

zenith4biz: This is the cheapest induction cooker you can get online currently, it's on konga, it comes with free pot Sure but since there are no reviews how can you tell? There's also a cheaper one on Jumia but guess what the reviews say? Glass got broken in a few days. So it's not really about the price but reliability that counts. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 6:33pm On Apr 17 |
adibo: Yes, true Honestly don't give ur system unnecessary overload. If it's a bit slow u can increase to like 1,800w. Should cook faster. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 6:08pm On Apr 17 |
adibo: Glad you are enjoying yours. It is really fantastic. I am trying to see if I can get one with two burners. If not, I will try to get another one so I can cook two things at the same time. I want to be free from using gas as much as possible Ok. But with that kind of speed 1 can definitely do the job pretty well though. |

SourYoghurt: thanks for your response, I am trying to upgrade from 12v but it felt like why "waste" extra 500k for 48v when I can just stick with 24v but again, I think soon my load will increase. I dun close eyes start my process to upgrade.
BTW, where did you get the cooker, online or physical store?
Physical store. Couldn't find that exact type from the online stores. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 10:03am On Apr 17 |
adibo: This is it set at 800w. The way it is made, if there is no compatible pot on it, even if you put it on, the cooker won't come on. That is also a good safety feature I guess, incase one mistakenly puts it on without knowing. So, I can't snap the surface when it is working, although it does not even show any red colour, it just starts working So following your posts I said to also get my hands on this bad boy yesterday.. I have never seen anything cook so fast in my life. At 2,100w water started boiling in seconds. And the beauty of it is the adjustable power draw. Technology is insane. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 9:41am On Apr 17 |
SourYoghurt: is 24v system that bad, everyone seems to promote 48v No system is BAD, your choice is highly dependent on your needs + efficiency. If any was bad then it won't be available in the market don't you think? |

I've come to notice something about Fouani. Sometimes the Items that says 'out of stock' are actually still available in shops. Got an induction cooker from them at Asaba, same cooker has been out of stock on website for since God knows when. |

Anyone? Or are we all collectively bleeped by Airtels horrible inconsistent network? Works here.. But behaves differently per subscription. Might work well on the current sub, then next month from evening network becomes terrible until midnight. |

epoxide: No super admin features. The sub is 130gb for only new routers but can be done for you in 24 hours Why would you want to tweak Airtel router IMEI coz of 130gb when Airtel has so much better offers. Sounds counterintuitive to me. |
