The issue is I didn’t snap the back of the Jinko 535 watt I installed before installing it but when I checked for the spec online, this is what I found below
Don't go ahead with the installation, it's not safe.

Your options are;
1. Get an mppt charge controller.
2. Sell inverter at a small loss and get Bread inverter with higher Voc.
3. Sell or keep the extra panel and work towards upgrading to 24v.

I'll go for option 2 if it was me.

It depends on which ODU.

The G5FA + MF296A may not last up to 3 hours.
Mine lasts 4hrs plus

What's the value for the 535w?

Lol, I've been using the Airtel ODU since October last year. I've seen all there is to see. My number one priority is streaming Cos I used it to replace my DStv. Before this world cup, when the league seasons were still on, I wouldn't dream of streaming a live match in HD. Champions league nights were even worse.

But I noticed all that has changed recently. Been streaming all world cup matches in HD without any buffer. I don't know if they improved by themselves or their hands were forced by MTN's competing ODU. Or is it even the servers I'm using to stream World Cup. I just know there's been glaring improvement
From midnight till day time I get up to 50mbps consistently and can stream anything. But between 6/7pm till 12 a.m it's dead, we're talking kilobytes. Unfortunately most of the World Cup games are played at this hour so I've been suffering.

took two months with lots of calls and whatnot.

I called them yesterday to request a refund and the person I spoke with said I should put the ODU SIM into a feature phone without any other SIM card and send 5GODU to 312. Immediately,it started working
Thanks for this update 🙏🏾

I'm not really using it because I still have an Airtel subscription running. Funny enough,it has been very much stable and blazing
How long did it take to activate from day of purchase, and what steps did you take to activate?

MTN is strong in my area in Enugu but I don't have 5G. Should I still go for it? Abi make I stick with Airtel? For context, Airtel used to be horrible once it's 7pm but during this world cup it's been mostly excellent. So what do you recommend?
Airtel will soon have your time haha..

Just get the mtn by the side, no harm in having both.

I had my MTN ODU up and running yesterday. It's funny that the download is just around 50mbps while upload speed is around 100
How would you rate your experience? Stable so far?

in my own situation, only 5G works and everyone knows how unreliable 5G can get. So in a day,I can spend an hour or two just rebooting and turning on airplane mode
I spend more time rebooting and switching bands in the evenings than actually being productive. It's so frustrating.

Update on the device:

MTN hasn't fully started on-boarding ODU subscribers. Since I bought the device, I haven't received my Welcome Offer so they haven't migrated me to Broadband tariff plan and given me my data yet.
I call MTN customer care almost every 4-5 days, I called them yesterday self, I have mailed them, they say they're still working on it.

Not juss me, myself and other customers that have purchased the ODU in Port Harcourt. I'm in touch with one of them.

There is a system issue they need to fix from the back-end: The sim card that came with the device is provisioned for the Welcome offer but when we try to activate the offer (TEXT: 5GODU to 312), it doesn't work.

VERDICT: Patience.

I'll advise anyone to hold on from purchasing the device for now so you don't tie down your 30k coz we don't know when they'll resolve the issue.

I need it coz my area is not FiberX-covered. So this is my best alternative.

Chief. Is it possible to contact you with regards to how you got yours? I've been to the main head office at Artillery but no way.

So you can give me better directions for the one by Boske.

But if you're in area there's no light you'll keep calling customers care agent everyday
I have regular light here. Averaging about 20hrs daily for years. Except for grid collapse and a few other days.

let's be real no breaker is protecting anything from a lightening strick.. The power surge from the lightening will easily bypass the breaker and continue on its journey. The best protection is to get a quality lightening catcher or just physically disconnect the PV wirer from the CCor inverter. No let anybody whine you.
Honestly. I think it's high time inverters are designed to have a plug in system from PV as in most power stations.

So Incase of thunderstorm, just turn off pv breaker and unplug from inverter, that way your system is protected even against direct strikes.

Exactly my point.
I lost two projects just because Airtel wanted to be unfortunate.
MTN with its 5G has been stable in my area.
Having a package like ODU is almost same as fiber x.
Most people easily forgets how unreliable Airtel is, although it can be subjective.

For instance in my case b4 I found this thread, I tracked my conversation with Airtel CC on X and realized that for about 2 years, I'm almost in their dm every 2wks complaining of bad network.

Even with the work arounds, you cannot deny the fact that Airtel will reduce your quality of life when solely depending on them.. Because tell me why '3G only' will give more speed than 4 & 5G in the evenings especially. And the 3G only is unreliable for streaming 🤦🏾‍♂️

Thanks for the feedback. I've seen about 2 persons or more here who have been successfully activated. Perhaps you can ask them how they went about it.

I still have an active Airtel sub till the end of this month, but I'll be looking to switch as fast as possible.

Read what I said again and hope you odu sims are sold through backdoor?
I have 3 Airtel odu's, mtn has to have something exceptional to make me switch. Why would I want to buy another device that offers nothing exceptional?
Airtel is notorious for being very unreliable. That's the reason people are going for mtn.

Mtn offers stability, and if they sustain this ODU campaign, they'll give Airtel a run for their money.

Airtel is after my life and the only thing managing to 'work' is the 3G only mode.

e good as una don dey Gradually list out some of the quirks and cons that comes with Lithium based batteries.

Shey na me go dey monitor batteries like we monitoring blood pressure of a diabetic person.

When I make certain comments why I personally don't and wouldn't use Lithium batteries anytime soon, some go call me oldSchool just because I refused to blindly follow the crowd.

As for clients, I just give them options, explain to them and let them make the choice.

Me wey dey rarely see ma batteries for long. Things continues working like it's natural 24-hour light.

yea leadAcid batteries got their own quirks but so is everything in this life. Even to serve God get e own CONs.
Monitoring cells is basically just opening your bms app and checking it which takes a few seconds. Infact you almost never have to do this unless you suspect a cell got bad.

This is rather an advantage over Lead Acid my brother because it means you can troubleshoot down to specific cells and replace if need be. No need for guess works and you don't need special tools.

The superiority of Lithium over Lead Acid is just way too much, you can't compare.

I think comms are important. For instance, my bms app no dey gree work again, so I change settings via comm cables and rs485 dongle.
I have reinstalled the app severally, checked several jk bms app versions, nothing dey still work.
Having the comms is an important option IMO for DIY people.
Makes sense.

Sometimes when you're having network challenges and have done all the band switching and no improvements, switching to 3G only mode can greatly improve your network speeds. After a while you can switch back to 4G only mode.

It doesn't really make sense but it works, and that's Airtel for you.

PoliticsRe: Why Power Supply May Never Improve In Nigeria. by Unfaized: 1:35pm On Jun 21
This is bullshit. You can't talk about billing where the infrastructure is non existent. What people are saying is make the infrastructure available first. That is where successive governments have failed woefully.

You have a very warped perspective of reality as a person. Stop excusing failure of government by assumption that citizens cannot pay for services. Is the infrastructure available?

Nobody is asking for free electricity, for each administration a certain amount is drawn as budget to improve electricity generation and distribution, your questions should be directed at the lack of results and not based on uneducated guesses.

Ask why Nigeria is still below 10k MW after releasing billions of $ down from Obj's administration till this one.
