Osyxcel: Well, I think it's okay. I do get full 5G and 4G bars. The 5G works well during the day but unstable evenings and the latency is high. More of a reception issue anyway.
Luckily I found a 4G band that works well. I locked to that and it's been working well. Getting the 50mpbs steady and the latency is much better.
The IDU has single SSID option for 2.4ghz and 5ghz (which you can disable) and it has been working flawlessly.
The powerbank should do at least 3 hours at least. Not fully tested. The performance is stable while on powerbank.
There are so many functions you can adjust on the IDU.
This is my experience so far. This your IDU is feature packed. |

icjunior: I intend to get a 10kva stabilizer for my house, saw 235k on jiji....anyone used the duravolt 10kva stabilizer? At that price it must be used I guess. I use a 5kva stabilizer to power my full house. If your load is much avoid using wall socket connection. Get an electrician to design a circuit with a properly sized change over and possibly a breaker ( This suggestion is from experience of having repeatedly melted wall sockets) |

FEGEITOK: This must be experience talking! Yes, bought a 16 inches one for someone, truth is the blades are so small it's not worth it. I own an 18 inches one I've been using for years and the difference is night and day 😂 |

FEGEITOK: I am in the market for an efficient fan to pair with my inverter and batteries;
Between the Maxi KYS-40AC and Qasa QSF-18R DC which would you choose and why?
Maxi has a built-in 12V 9.0Ah lithium battery and extra features like a USB port for maximum convenience and independence from an external source.
The Qasa draws a maximum of 20W, which is half the power of the Maxi, significantly extending battery run time.
What is the experience of the house with these two brands? Don't buy a 16 inches standing fan. The blade is so small. Go for an 18 inches type instead. |

frank155: I don't think this refuse to browse is a position problem (network).
I think it's directly from Airtel. For example, I have been enjoying my ODU for a month plus but from last Saturday till this very moment, it's been a nightmare.
I even called them and they said it's been fixed but here we are. I mentioned this to someone earlier. With Airtel when it's your turn to suffer the network issue you can't really escape it. Mine was working so well and then all of a sudden I was out for 1 full week. All complaints fell on deaf ears. After 1 week we are back online. It's just crazy and doesn't make any sense. |

lungwun: Hello everyone,
I have followed this thread for quite a bit and I'm popping in to ask what your general thoughts are on all-in-one systems. Thinking of acquiring the Growatt or Huawei from Fouani, mostly for the expandability and neater installations. Does anyone have an experience with any of these items? It would be good to know what your thoughts are handy images attached below? I'll advise you go on YouTube and watch Fisayo's (Tech review guy) review on the Huawei all in one unit. Bottom line is it's way too pricey for what it's offering and you can get a better deal in terms of battery capacity and inverter by going the other way. No idea about the growatt. |

dustmalik: There's no Airtel base station anywhere near my estate, and from what I have read about the ZTE ODU, it has a better antenna than the ZLT. The only drawback is its IDU, which doesn't support WiFi 6. I see. You also have a starlink, how are you shuttling both? Do you pay for subscription for both at same time? I was looking to replace the Airtel with my Starlink but was forced to activate mine when Airtel was out for 1 week. I am currently using both, trying to decide if it's worth taking the risk with Airtel. How is your experience so far? |

dustmalik: Like I said before, once the registration is completed, wait until it starts working before you leave the office.
Earlier today, I registered for a new one. Thank God their manager, who is a more experienced staff was there.
So, I opted for the ZTE variant. After registration was completed, they weren't sure if it was successful or not, but they were saying it would go through eventually. Then they showed their manager, who was standing nearby. He told them that it would fail, and that they should swap the line with a physical sim. Once that was done, they said I should go, that it would work. I then insisted on testing it before leaving. So, the manager himself inserted the sim inside the device and asked me to connect to it. Once I made sure that it was browsing, I left. Why did you go for a second one? |

Hullabaloon: Which band do you lock to for better performance? I'm locked to all bands. If your performance is poor, you could turn your antenna to face a different direction. My initial signal on installation was -84db which was very poor, so I mounted on my dstv dish and turned it facing another direction now I have -67db which is way better. Mind you, this won't save you from the regular downtime you get from Airtel(Happens like once in a month or two and you could be out for upnto 1 week). Actually nothing can save you when it's your turn to suffer 😬 |

@Trafford yes with 2m you can do just fine. I live in a 3 bedroom flat and here's my set up; 24v 4.2kva Haisic hybrid Inverter 340k, even lesser on Jumia. 24v 8.2kwh lithium battery from Mr. Reed 920k 6 530w Jinko Panels @ roughly 600k ish
My loads are the typical stuff you can find in a home and I use all of them, not at the same time though. They include; 3tvs all 55 inches Water heater Washing machine Microwave oven 0.75hp submersible 3 ACS including 1 1.5hp 2 freezers e.t.c
My 24v system serves me perfectly and with 2m you can achieve almost everything, but if you plan on bigger upgrades tomorrow, it's best to go all out for a 48v system. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 6:30am On Oct 27, 2025 |
HeavenlyBang: Yes?
What's special about the load? Four 43" TVs and a 65" aren't pulling more than 500w combined.
I have three TVs in my house, water heaters, freezer, fridge, two ACs, microwave, air fryer, oven and have never had any issues with an even inferior setup.
Anyone using solar will ultimately have to learn load shedding regardless. The setup I gave is possibly the best he can get with that budget, though maybe he'd be best served with eight 530w panels off the bat. You are absolutely right. I also have about: 3 AC's including 1 1.5hp 0.75hp pump 3 55 inches TV 2 freezers A microwave oven Air Fryer Washing machine Water heater Electric Jug e.t.c I use 24v comfortably with a 4.2kva inverter and 8.2kwh lithium battery. I've never had any issues. And yes with load management because all appliances are not on at same time. |

While the Airtel ODU might be good for some, unfortunately it's not good enough for me as lack of network for 4 days & counting has resulted in me being unable to meet up with important work deadlines. At the end of the day I just went with Starlink.
Airtel, same old same old. I wish you guys the best. Adios ! |

Trafford: Thank you. I have upgraded budget to 2.5m so as to include solar panel. I am being offered 5kva hybrid inverter and 5kwh battery. Both felicity, with 6 500w solar panel. Is that a good deal? For battery I'd suggest you maybe read back a few pages or go on tiktok and search DIYWITHRAY, particularly his battery capacity test videos. Most popular brands are notorious for malpractice in actual capacity. Please try and watch the videos. You'll understand what I am trying not to say 😂 |

Airtel is so unreliable. For about 2 days no network all through the day. Zero signal but I'm able to pick up some for very light browsing (unreliable)
Now even at midnight hours I'm not getting beyond 28Mbps. Terrible stuff. Might have to activate my Starlink finally. It's so sad that 9ja networks aren't reliable. |

Hullabaloon: This new ZTE ODU has an annoying habit of disconnecting from devices. And it happens multiple times a day. Today alone it happened more than 8 times.
And it's only the WiFi that disconnects cos the Ethernet powered devices still work.
Anyone got any solution? I think I experienced this a few times too but only on one of my device. How I solved it? Log into the IDU web ui(192.168.18.1), go to wifi settings and disable single SSID. This totally fixed that for me. You can give it a try. |

Mykcool: The past 2 weeks has really been terrible, it takes forever to load pictures on my phone and some sites don’t even load pictures on my laptop. This ODU should definitely improve your speed. I am weighing my options between FibreX and this at the end of the month. If you have FiberX as an option please go with it. Airtel network is not very reliable in some areas and this has been affecting me even with the ODU for about 2 days now. Of course it's better than X25 pro but most times there's a total loss of signal (On Airtel generally including phones and not peculiar to ODU) From my experience, Airtel can fail you at anytime. |

Rokynwastar: Terrible Airtel network over here tonight.
Get max of 5Mbps on my x25 pro and my ODU is fluctuating between 16Mbps and 30Mbps Indeed Airtel signal has been really bad tonight. But at the moment I'm also doing 16-18Mbps. The only time I get up to 50Mbps is at night and in the morning. From afternoon it’s usually 16-30 Mbps, then 16-18 by evening. This is after elevating my antenna. |
Phones › Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by Unfaized: 8:05pm On Oct 22, 2025 |
Noticing something with this ODU
With zero Airtel signal on my phone, I'm still able to capture about 2Mbps from the ODU.
I'd say impressive. On X25pro this equals to zero internet for me.
Mind you my place is very peculiar with terrible signals. So far so good, I think this is a great buy. Fingers crossed. |

Raised my ODU up higher from the previous position and signal strength went up from -85dbm to -66dbm (Lesser the better)
So far I have been enjoying this stuff, only had network outage about twice. One during a heavy rain, the second one for like an hour on a random day. |
