So today I went to go visit a friend using the Airtel ODU & damn..🤦🏾‍♂️

2 ODU's, fully subbed yet can't go beyond 300Kb 🤦🏾‍♂️

Why can't it be plug n play?

I think at this point the FG needs to step in on this Airtel thing coz this is just ripping people off.

Finally my friend moved to mtn and the difference is massive.

Dunno why I got unlucky with mine. Still hoping for improvements to switch to mtn ASAP!. At the moment still flexing Starlink and since my move problems is out of my vocabulary 🙏🏾

Starlink has gotten worse, nothing has improved, at least in Abuja. Personally, I don't use it until after midnight as it's frustrating during the day. I have the MTN ODU which I use during the day. Starlink becomes fast after midnight, I get up to 300Mbps upwards. The reason I still keep starlink is because of stability. Starlink has 99.9% uptime reliability. You can bet your life that it will up and running anytime you want to do basic browsing. My frustration with Starlink is streaming. It frustrates the hell out of me. I know that people in less congested states still enjoy it almost anytime of the day, but in Abuja, it's not serving my day time usages.

How bad does it get for you during the day?

what can i do, my UPLOAD SPEED is greater than my DOWNLOAD SPEED on the Airtel ODU.

For more than a month i have this installed, i have enjoyed it getting 40-50mps until now.

Call or write them via X. This was one of my major challenges.

Haven't experienced the banking apps issue since morning. Although at the moment I am using the custom DNS which I activated not quite long.

If I see FiberX near my street I'm calling mtn same day 😂( For economic reasons )

Someone should please recommend add-ons for Stremio and Nuvio strictly for movies and Series. I only have Torrentio which works fine but for movies with very low seeders e.g 1, it's impossible to Stream smoothly.

Not everyone uses the internet for entertainment, and not everyone has the same budget or needs. Some of us use Airtel ODU because it is what fits our work, location and pocket. You don’t know my situation, my usage or what I can afford, so your assumptions are completely irrelevant.
If Starlink works for you and you can afford it, congratulations 👏🏽. Nobody is stopping you. But stop acting like buying Starlink automatically makes your opinion superior.
This is an Airtel Unlimited forum. If you’re so convinced that Airtel is beneath you, why are you still here preaching about Starlink? 😂 Go enjoy your Starlink and leave people who are satisfied with Airtel to discuss Airtel

😂 The precious hours you waste locking and unlocking bands, contacting customer service and switching to '3G' only mode is more expensive than any money you may spend in getting alternatives.

The price you pay in less productivity and creativity using Airtel ODU is more expensive than anything you can imagine, and even if you only use it for entertainment, you will also pay with your peace of mind.

So the choice is yours, choose wisely !

There seem to be a high rate of failure of the hardware though. You would expect a more durable hardware from an American company, I am not impressed.

I think you can purchase from the likes of Jumia or Konga. Or better look for a used Starlink deal.

Finally, for the first time in many years man got to enjoy internet without twisting and turning.

Using Airtel ODU surely reduces your quality of life. Run while you still can, safeguard your sanity 🙏🏾

Since Airtel said they upgraded the Mast in my area, small '3G only' mode I used to manage during the day time now is not usable anymore.

Going through this thread ,and seeing what you guys are experiencing, just to enjoy a stable and decent internet connection, I am like...WOW! All the settings and manipulations that needs to be done just to have what is, by most standards, a mediocre internet connection and experience. These companies need to be held accountable. AS I have mentioned in other threads, I have had my own issues with MTN during my visits. We need to really get past this mess in order to have progress in the country!

Its really sad. This is what happens when regulators fail at their jobs.

I suffered this same thing last week. Reached out to Airtel and no one gave me any reasonable information. It was later that one of their customer service said I already exhausted my 1TB FUP.

What's funny is that I asked her what if I decide to do the three months plan and she said the FUP becomes 1.5TB for the whole three months.

I asked her what's the incentive to do the three months plan if I get only extra 500gb for the three months while paying significantly more. She had no answer.

I tried my MTN abandoned ODU and it happened that it's working. It is almost two weeks already since

The customer service doesn't have an idea what they're talking about. The 3 months plan is 1TB FUP monthly, that's 3TB overall. But if you exhaust per month it will be throttled (observation from a user here)

Airtel is really scamming alot of subscribers in broad daylight and nothing is being done about by the telecoms regulating bodies.

Because this Mbps and Kbps thing is very intentional, it has lingered too long enough to be a problem that isn't fixable. And also why is my ODU 25k subscription being capped at 20Mbps ( no matter what time of day, no matter how good the network is, it's still the same outcome ). I read others also have the same problem.

Not that I can really afford it, but using Airtel cost me more overall in terms of precious productive hours. I need a plug n play internet.

I tried MTN but it didn't work out for me unfortunately. If mtn is good in your area you should give it a try.

My network now is 1 week on(Mbps), 1 week off (Kbps).

I planned to do a 3 months sub earlier but changed my mind. Thank God for Smartcash, I can easily transfer my money back to my bank.

I'll just go ahead and get a Starlink. I'm done with this nonsense.

If U are using this type of odu, pls come to my aid ..I have not been Able to use it, I helped a frd to paid for a month with the hope that I will be able to make it Work better but I have not been able to .. I hv changed to all the bands but still getting 500kbs , what is happening

Try '3G Only'
It's what I use when facing downtimes and it works.

I even use it to stream 1080P content flawlessly on Stremio.

Airtel wan kill me. Surviving on '3G only mode' atleast I get up to 6-7 Mbps.

I think this whole issue has to do with my location. Na why MTN no work for me. Yet its a densely populated and thriving area o.

Been getting 2 Band 7 with different parameters lately..

Yours is esim? Wetin wan damage am? If e damage, you do sim swap na. No be MTNN wey no wan swap to external Sim. I have 3 ODUs, all are external Sims. One 'other way', one X17M and the almighty ZTE G5F. I sub only one at a time.

I have only one ODU. I think I'll purchase another one just incase.

No go do 6 months oo cos it’s cheaper. Airtel fit Bleep u in the ass. The only reason me sef do this 3 months now na say hopefully MTN fire X go don dey my area by the time the 3 months sub finish. Den I’ll switch back to monthly for any network that serves me better

Hehehe...it's not even about it being cheaper, honestly for me 25k is already cheap enough. It's just my way of saying it's Airtel long term now since mtn no follow.

Buh wait o, if your ODU were to damage and you already have like a 6months sub, will they replace it 🤔
