FEGEITOK: I'm using QASA but it has the same problem since it uses a lead acid battery Before you build, how many Lead Acids does yours come with? Is it 2 6v combined or 1 12v? You have to take note so that you can get something that will fit into the battery compartment and you can cover as normal. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 7:49am |
bassdow: Just so you know, issue with those FANs ain't entirely a battery chemistry issue BUT mostly battery capacity.
One of the sweet things of Lithium chemistry is more Amps per kg hence the size of a 12v 20AH leadAcid battery would always be physically much bigger than an equivalent for Lithium based battery.
Now add the required charge time between both chemistries and you quickly understand what's going on.
My neigbours would find your comment funny because He would swear the 3 fans they using could last over 4 days on no charge at all despite the fact their leadAcid battery (12v 200AH) is what He already wanted to sell off to aboki as scrap.
Me nko, I use similar though mine are still very much in good condition. Funny enough, I only suggested it and He blindly agreed I set it up for him.
But then again, for those who don't already use leadAcid battery, and not using Solar, or require much mobility, Lithium battery remains their best bet ELSE just go buy any WEAK leadAcid battery of at least 100AH and be done with it What's the point of using a giant 100ah for a rechargeable fan? It's meant to be compact and moveable and the lithium battery can fit right into the same compartment as the old Lead Acid. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 7:47am |
Bryanluke: Yes it's a battery chemistry.. if using an old 100ah battery aside for the fan isn't a good one for me.. I'd advise everyone to leave lead acid and move to lithium battery for their fan I also switched to lithium for my rechargeable fan more than a year ago and it's still going strong. The lead acids including follow come and replacements couldn't do 3 months even. |

saint2ace: On-boarding new subscribers and installation is now flawless for the ODU package, all registration is done online. Got a new device on Saturday, from conclusion of registration to final installation took just 3½hrs.
Was quite impressed, got the ZTE model. Airtel or Mtn? |

Apparently MTN didn't do enough research before jumping into this ODU thing 😂
1st it was the physical sim versions that was struggling to activate, and now this abysmal speed.
Some people are stuck with the physical sim version and it's impossible for them to activate, no compensation, no replacement, now they have to get a new device not knowing if the speed will be worth it omo.
I wish they can give us advanced interface for switching network bands and cells, I believe it will do better. Airtel forgive us abeg, we underrated you 😂😂😂 |

twosquare: The last bundle I bought was from Smart Cash directly, not even Airtel app. My experience. Ok. But be careful sha b4 u loose ur hard earned 25k... 50Mbps plan at 25k is strictly for ODU devices, however you can do the experiment for science and we can learn through you. |

michlins: it was activated at the point of purchase and it worked fine for the day. Unfortunately the network has become so bad. It's not just the router but MTN generally has been terrible around here for weeks.
I have been calling and texting them to actually come fix it
Took this screenshot this night around 11pm Any updates? |

Installation of my MTN ODU is completed and the speed is still abysmal. We're talking 200Kbps poor meanwhile upload goes as high as 50Mbps.
No menu to switch band or do a little adjustment. Dashboard is just there 🤦🏾♂️ |

williams85: I squeeze out time to swap the mtn ODU to physical sim. But unfortunately, the ODU number is restricted for a sim swap. So I couldn't do the swap to physical sim. How's your performance so far with the MTN compared to Airtel? |

mickeyg2030: Please how o come and teach me please my 30k 20mbps will expire today,, please You haven't been following the thread? If you have reliable network speeds in your location, you can go to any airtel office and purchase the ODU router for 25k. Comes with 1 month 50Mbps unlimited plan by default and on expiry you can subscribe for subsequent ones at 25k or N22,500 if you use smartcash. |

michlins: stick no dey shook person twice for eyes. I made sure it was working before I paid This your parable strong... Did you have to take any extra steps? I was told it would be activated in Monday but on turning on tonight I already got the 100Mbps successful activation text and I can browse, however the speed is very poor. The ODU is indoors though, I wonder if I need to do something or an extra step. I'm logged into the mtn app and it says no data balance |
Phones › Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by Unfaized: 11:09pm On Jul 18 |
So I just said to set up this MTN ODU indoors right now and to my surprise I already got the successful activation text.
The location is indoor and signal strength is around -94dbm which is quite poor. Tomorrow I'll mount outside and observe.
Meanwhile Airtel is impressing me already tonight haha 😂. First time in a long time. |

NSEstudent:

Maybe they wan make I sub 3 months so they can properly show me original shege.
Meanwhile the shege they are showing me now is that the sub is not fast with tweaked MIFIs I have been using it with. So when on the go, the experience is not the same. Thank God I didn't get into that 3 months sub trap. I wish my experience was great sha. My major issue is usually in the evenings when I'm supposed to stream football matches or movies |

NSEstudent: Funny thing is that Airtel has become extremely reliable in my location in the past 3 days or so.
I know they will soon do their usual but I'm getting speeds of close to 100mbs on a 50mbs sub and a stable streaming experience. Currently using X25pro but I know it will be the same with my G5F. If I finish what I'm doing early, I will try Nuvio this weekend.
Meanwhile, I have bought ZLT X32U 5G MIFI with 9000mAh for when I will get the MTNN ODU, because I will always convert to external Sim. Bn experiencing something similar for the past 2-3 days too. But I won't fall for it sha 😂 |

femarse: Give us the full load down and picture , battery picture, router picture, ODU picture , their connection, how many hours the battery last on a full charge , network stability and any other thought. I really don't know why past buyers don't just want to give comprehensive review as we have done with the Airtel , really also want to know if the sim can be retrieve and place inside an ordinary router
I don't have any problem with the Airtel ODU like people complain here shaa , I use a normal Airtel 4G router for it and I have only experience downtime maybe just twice since last year that I started using it , which bring me to the conclusion that the network is actually fine , it's the ODU device that has issue , I use it for one week , retrieve the sim and put it in a 4g smartbox cos I need the portability Wil not be bad to try the mtn too and if the battery connector is the same 12v connector Airtel use , so they can interplay My device is yet to be activated. I think some users already posted updates on network connectivity. This unit is e-sim. Yet to confirm if the ODU have physical sim support. That said, the device is the X17U, same as Airtel's so the battery life, performance e.t.c should be about the same for similar speed plan. The reason some of us want to switch is the lack of consistency from Airtel. It is hardly stable as you can confirm from multiple testimonies online, and this is beyond the ODU. You are very lucky to not have issues with yours, for me it has been very frustrating and nobody should have to suffer this much just to have stable internet. I'll keep the thread updated once my unit is activated and hopefully do the necessary comparison. At the moment it's fingers crossed 🤞🏾 |

williams85: There’s one unique thing about MTN ODU, the power consumption is same as X25 pro. I don’t know how they did that. I’m suspecting the simplicity of the indoor unit interface may contribute to that. Post your idu lets see. |
