what is the full meaning HTCOS in the military?

by the Grace of God some of us will make the list and become coursemate, i will be the greatest fool if i say all of us will make it, but if we start having grudges with one another, we may not get along with each other. so pls let come together and make peace,.... please...when we all get there we will know abt the pay... any time i asked one of my lieutenant friend abt the pay scale, he always tells me the pay is not bad,that if i get there i will know for my self, but he keep telling me that the NN & NAF are better in terms of pay, structure e.t.c

Chukzy001: well, blank-ammo is used for their normal trainings like: advance and quick attack, defence and withdrawal, section battle drill, platoon battle drill and demo exercises.
As for range classification, it jus means "target practice" in layman's terms... where wood targets would be placed at distances from 10m to even 600m for troops to get their marksmanship (shooting skills)... Hope I didnt further confuse u...

just for only 7 months? i did not follow up after that time because i was not shortlisted bcoas ther was no discharge certificate

azido: About 5 years ago their was a major shakeup in the Armed forces.So many Dssc Officers were forcefully retired at the rank of Lieutenant-Lt col. due to old age.Some other ranks that converted to officers through Dssc were affected.Guys some Newly commissioned officers during that period didnt spend up to 2 months in service bfore they met an untimely retirement.this was during Dambasua's tenure.I no a Fg Offr.dat was retired friends he used half of his gratuity to balance the payment of the peugeot 307 he received.It wasnt funny then as the news circulated our barracks Some Rc cadets i know then laughed at the affected officers.Saying, we met them at their rank and overtook them.

Fellow Officers i am saying this stories to relax our tension till our list comes out..

azido: let me use the NAF as e.g no officer rank from plt offr earn less than 200k.Now salary for same rank are dsame but your TRADE and other allawee is what makes the Net pay of Officer A to differ from Officer B even when they are course mates for NA engineers,medical doctors e.t.c top the chat.So 200k upward. You can correct me if am wrong

azido: oga frank,i was dere in 2011 and 2012.LOlzzz.it's usually 10days and even more.
reason is dat we were attended to state by state.starting from Abia.In my state alone we were more than 120 while kogi state had d highest,over 1500 pple only in lagos center.dey will check ur height,Bp and Credentials den finally d exam will take place on d last day while oders dat couldnt do their Bp,height and credentials screening were asked to or will be asked to wait after d exam d following day.friends,more than 2000 pple still came back d following day to do their medicals after d stipulated date for d exercise was over and were attended to.Last years own in sam ethnan Base was not funny as it rainned cat n dog during dat period some of my certificates bcame wet and turned in d rain.On d exam day it still rained.Mind you we wrote d exam on top of grasses in a field as d rain continued to shower on our answer booklet.Some of d indiscipline applicants amongst us were made to do forward roll.see on each day we got dere 8.00am and left there 11.30pm in d midnite.I even accommodated some friends in d barracks during dat period. d exercise was postponed abt twice last year so for sallah celebration a Rtd Avm told me dey might postponed it
