What was the brief before he commenced the job? Was any brief not delivered? Do you need him to fine-tune anything? You certainly don't need us to critique the job at this late stage before you will pay.

You should be truthful to him. From the information you've supplied so far, it is not acceptable to withhold payment. Unless you have more valid information, if not, please pay him as soon as practicable.

Mind you there was already a foundation on ground which I went to the site to inspect and the job I met on ground I wasn't impressed as it doesn't meet up to Standard but he said that his bricklayer who is his Engineer is very experienced so that is his problem. I am only concerned about the Architectural and Structural. I already sent him the job already in pdf via WhatsApp and it's been almost like 3weeks ago I completed the job and yet to receive my balance yet. He claimed to be busy which I understand but with the rise in inflation I want the job rounded up because every contract is valid for a window the value of money paid can execute it.

He blocked me on Whatsapp already because I asked for my balance. So asking for my balance means I am not nice right? If I hadn't completed the job the narrative would be that I took money and didn't complete the job but now it is the client refusing to pay for a job I spent 3 day and nights on. I already sent the completed job to him on WhatsApp.

I am ready to pay you, but do I pay,for something unrefined yet.

The carpenter went ahead to make it higher after we already concluded for a shorter height.

The reason he gives is due to rain downpour.

I am about telling him to reduce it because the number and budget of stoan coated roofing tiles have increased.

Are you thinking about buying the roofing sheets and then accessories, after which you would get someone to fix them ? That process might cost you more , except you know exactly what you are doing. Buying the sheets, valleys, troughs, caps, nails, gum etc would require some knowledge.
It’s best to contract roofing to a reliable person, let them deal with it.

Roof pitch is a factor of design. Assuming you wanted a high or low pitch roof, you should have monitored the kingpost at the design and formation stage and not now that the job is 100 percent done.

Cost of deconstructing this roof frame may be as much as the cost for constructing the frame.

They already began dismantling it at initial cost, since they did what we didn't agree on.

I wasn't happy with the design.

Best I can do is compensate the extra work
