His trial continues.

The FG has amended its charges. The charges are now reduced to six. From 15 to 6.

Buhari and Justice Malami have also added Nnamdi Kanu's lawyers as his accomplices.

But we know what they are doing. They have failed. But will they admit it? No.

They want fight to the finish.

The last time Kanu appeared in court, 8 out of the 15 charges were struck out.

Untamed by disgrace, this same government wants to amend the charges again.

They will still fail.

Do you know why they continue to amend the charges?

Because those charges are lame, watery, and frivolous.

It requires nothing to see that Buhari and his government are buying time.

They just want to keep Kanu out of circulation.

That's all.

They know his freedom gives them headache and sleepless nights.

So they are hellbent on keeping him out of circulation.

The protraction of his trial is deliberate. It is a political artifice, borne out of well-calculated policy.

How do you prove that Kanu is guilty?

You must prove that self-determination is a crime.

KANU can only be proved guilty if self-determination is a crime.

But as long as self-determination is a fundamental human right, Kanu is innocent.

The presiding judge refused to grant Kanu bail on ground that he jumped jail in 2017.

But we all know what happened. Even the judge knows it.

Kanu fled because the lawless Nigerian soldiers invaded his house, killed scores of his followers, while Kanu narrowly escaped.

Who is ignorant of these facts?

None.

One thing Kanu's trial has shown is that justice is hardly obtained in Nigeria.

If Kanu is guilty, while the continued adjournment of his trial?

Why not declare him guilty with evidence?

Why do the government want secret trial?

These things are not rocket science.

It is simple.

Kanu is a thorn on their flesh.

They want him out of their way by all means.

But time will vindicate the innocent and just.

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Wednesday, told a Federal High Court, Abuja that he has been a fan of Liverpool Football Club from childhood.

Kanu, who disclosed this when Justice Binta Nyako jokingly asked him his favourite football team, said Liverpool F.C. had been his club since he was seven.

The development occurred when Kanu’s lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, complained that the Department of State Services (DSS) had not been allowing him and other counsel enough time to meet with the IPOB leader whenever they visit him in detention.

Justice Binta, who reminded Ozekhome that he had once thanked the DSS in open court for procuring an orthopedic mattress, pillow and others for his client, said she had already ordered that the security outfit should give Kanu moderate treatment and care while in detention like food, clothing, medicare, etc.

Then Nyako turned to Kanu and said despite her order for him to change his clothes, the IPOB leader continued to put on the same milk-colour designers wear.

The judge said though Kanu, on his on accord, keeps coming into the court with the same attire, she saw him in the media with another clothes.

The judge then jokingly said she was a Liverpool F.C. fan and asked Ozekhome if he was also a fan of a football club, and the senior lawyer answered in affirmative.


He said he was also a fan of Liverpool F.C.

Nyako then asked Kanu if he was a fan of Chelsea Football Club going by the designers clothes he keeps wearing to court.

“What is you team?” she asked.

Kanu gently stood up in the dock and said: “My team is Liverpool even from age of seven”.

The judge then told the DSS legal director who was in court to always allow Kanu to watch the matches of his favourite football club.

“You must allow the defendant to watch the matches any day they are playing,” she said, adding that she was going to make an order to that effect.

The DSS official, however, said his office had always given him access to watch television.(NAN)

There is a Facebook account belonging to a popular Facebook personality that died in 2017.

You may know her.

Think back carefully.

She used to be a very successful smoked fish merchant before her death.

Some time in February this year, her concerned relatives messaged me about some bizarre activity going on with her Facebook account.

Paranormal 'manifestations', as I would put it.

They were unable to get Facebook to delete the account off because they never got to get the password from their sister before she died and weeks after her burial, Facebook friends to the late lady started noticing activity on the account.

Several have attested to receiving weird messages and voice notes from the profile at odd hours after 12 midnight.

Every weekend at the strike of 12: 00 AM, that account would do a live video showing someone walking through a thick forest shrouded with several fireflies darting into the camera lens.

The person or entity holding the camera never said a word save just chewing bubble gum noisily.
By 1:00 AM sharp, the live video would abruptly end!

Every Saturday and Sunday night.

More terrifying was the fact that the few people awake by that hour that tried commenting on that live video never ever could, as a strange paralysis accompanied by a violent explosion of goose bumps would always hit them and leave them in a dream-like state of immobility.

They always woke up the next morning with strange rashes on their thighs and bite marks all over their knees.

Bite marks from human teeth.

They also would remember having very horrendous nightmares where the stink of rotting flesh would remain lingering stubbornly in their nostrils.

The very next morning, this late lady's Facebook page would disappear like it was deactivated with no traces--- only to resurface again by 12 midnight the next day with another live video session.

When the matter was brought to me, I laughed it off as the exuberances of an attention-seeking hacker.

But the reports persisted until I had to employ the services of some web experts to triangulate the IP location of the Facebook activity of that account.

I was surprised when the chats and posts where traced to Abuja central cemetery!

The very cemetery this lady was buried in 2017!

I still didn't believe that the dead lady was truly running her account from the great beyond.

Not until the younger brother to the late lady told me that on 2 occasions, he got a Facebook messenger voice call from his late sister's account and when he picked it up, he heard her voice laughing at him and asking him to switch the call to video mode so she will see his big head.

The first time he heard her voice, he fainted.

The second time, he willed himself to switch the call to video and saw his sister squatting on a closed casket in a forest and backing him.

She was pulling a withered palm tree out of her vagina and screeching like a cricket.

She had on the same dress she was buried in.

Just today, this brother said he entered his late sister's bedroom casually to try to grasp what was really happening and found a dried fish head with an imprint of her face on it lying on the terrazzo floor.

Nobody in the house understood how it got there, as the last time they saw such in that house was 5 years ago when their sister was dealing on smoked fish.

I wish it were possible for me to tag the Facebook account here, but the family begged me not to get their late sister's memory enmeshed in public drama and controversy.

The usual but controversial sit-at-home order in the Eastern States, took a different slant today, as armed policemen stormed the State Headquarters of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, shooting sporadically.

Some residents of Okigwe Road and Works Layout, who alerted Vanguard about the development, said that they have scampered into the safety of their rooms.

Speaking to Vanguard on phone, Chuka (surname withheld) said: “There is serious shooting going on in our area now. We have all scampered into the safety of our rooms. From where I am hiding with members of my family, I can’t hazard a guess on the people shooting.

I’m not sure if the unknown gunmen are at it again, but I must, however, say that the shooting appears endless. I will keep you posted if the situation gets clearer.”

A further enquiry from a businessman, who operates his outfit in the area and spoke on strict grounds of anonymity, said: “The shooting spree is between the police and NSCDC personnel. I understand that a police officer was arrested for a yet to be ascertained infraction and detained by NSCDC officers. I also learnt that he alerted his colleagues and they stormed NSCDC.

It is not clear if they succeeded in getting their man out from detention or not. It is also not clear if anybody died in the process, but the massive shooting was uncalled for.

“The invading police officers ought to have chosen a more civilized approach in resolving whatever was the issue, instead of taking laws into their hands. I expect the State Commissioner of Police to fish out the fellows that attacked the NSCDC Headquarters and punish them appropriately.”

All efforts made by Vanguard, to get the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr Mike Abattam, to confirm the incident failed, as he rather retorted: “Really? What happened?”

Meanwhile, unconfirmed gory pictures have started trending online, which was alleged to be the consequence of the shooting in Owerri.

A young boy was seen in a pool of his own blood, while the second had his leg shattered.

I think for peace and equality to reign, the federal government should release Nnamdi Kanu to the Igbos, Sunday Igboho to the Yorubas and pardon Abba Kyari for the sake of the northerners.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya has announced the death of Ambassador Wilfred Machage, High Commissioner of Kenya to Nigeria.

According to a statement on the Ministry’s website, Mr Machage collapsed at his Abuja residence on Saturday and was rushed to the hospital, where he passed on at 12:30 p.m.

“Machage was appointed High Commissioner of Kenya to Nigeria by President Uhuru Kenyatta in January 2018 and accredited to 12 other countries within Central and Western Africa.
He collapsed at home and was pronounced dead at the hospital after this unfortunate incident,” Kenya said. “The country has lost a dedicated compatriot.”

The incident came as Nnamdi Kanu’s family and UK and Kenya lawyers were preparing to make Mr Machage testify in the Biafra separatist leader’s abduction case in Nairobi.

Mr Machage had in July 2021 insisted that Kenya did not play any role in Mr Kanu’s abduction. But growing evidence compiled by Mr Kanu’s family and attorneys has pointed to Kenyan government’s involvement in abducting Mr Kanu around mid-June 2021 before forcibly repatriating him to Nigeria.

Mr Kanu’s family found his passport in Kenya days after he was paraded in Nigeria on charges of terrorism. His case has seen repeated adjournments in Nigeria since he was first arraigned in July 2021.
