Hi all,

I'm Slimmy05, a graduate student here in Tennessee US. I've been trading on Ebay, Amazon etc for 3 years now. This is what I do, you send a link of an item you'll like to bid on Ebay, I will help you monitor the bid and I assure you I'm very good at this. Once you win the bid I will forward to your email the invoice. All you need to do is to send me the naira equivalent and shipping cost to you in Nigeria. The weight of the goods will determine the amount it would cost to ship to Nigeria. I won't charge for service fee for the first 20 nairalanders that patronize me.

Secondly, if you need phones, tablet, laptops, clothes, shoes or any accessories and you have a budget on the amount you'll like to spend on the item. All you need to do is to mention me here and I will send you links price and pictures of the ones that fits your budget. Your goods will be shipped to Nigeria through private air freight.

out of the 500 awardees more than 400 are from Western part of this country. using simple mathematics, u can determine the disparity between the two. no formula needed.
Am sure they aren't the most brilliant students that sat for the exam. for those of u who met all the criteria and weren't shortlisted, know that that is one of the characteristics of a nation in which you live. a nation full of exclutionist, selfish, nepotist, opportunistic individuals. this every where in this nation not only on mtn scholarship awards but even at job interview. nothing like equal opportunity for everyone in this nation. if you must be great then, u must either be among the high class or work hard for yourself if you are not among the high class. so pls take heart.

Good thinking y'all, way to go
manny4life:
I was thinking about the same thing. I had the same idea for same thing but did not know if it was gonna be here or in Nigeria and how successful it was gonna be. The reason why I would like Naija is because it has less overhead that includes RENT, MAINTAIN ACE, ZONING, TAX and other troubles that comes with it. I had done all my research carefully and the type of games that should be set up. The scope of the idea is a internet cafe and gaming center that would feature both LAN and consoles gaming. Looking at maybe 10 to 30 computers for LAN GAMING and 5 HI DEF LCD Screens for X BOX 360 consoles. For internet gaming, would be looking for a strong internet company with good T1 LINES service. Since I live here, It would be easier to obtain a game exploitation license and other necessary documentation required for the credit and background checks and even facilitate all monthly payments.
Just thinking if anyone has some good ideas about what the Zoning and the monthly rent for a 2,000 SQ.FT space in the in a clean not rich but decent area. The prices of gaming computers or regular computers and how much for an upgrade for gaming, monthly service fee for a T1 LINE and necessary equipments like chairs, computer tables and a generator because I heard the power supply is not stable.
Although I am looking for an exact quote, I will appreciate someone who has an idea of a brief estimate just to compare with some information I found on the internet and if the business is viable.
Thanks

HOW DO YOU BILL AND MANAGE YOUR INCOME??
GamingRe: Is Video Game Business Illegal In Nigeria? by Ups01(m): 4:39pm On Dec 06, 2015

To avoid cheating, there's a major solution to that. What u do is to negotiate a fixed amount with d head of ur workers which he will pay u monthly depending on d average income. This way u are not bothered with cheating or damage to equipment.

ABEG PEOPLE HOW DO YOU BILL YOUR CUSTOMERS?
BusinessRe: Make Money In Nigeria By Investing In A Video Game Centre by Ups01(m):
einfo:
Football is no doubt the most popular sport in the world today. Asides from the billions of dollars spent by football clubs, FIFA and fans of the sport, we find millions of passionate fans controversially playing coach, analyzing teams , players, formations and tactics as they watch. This passion for football has given rise to football viewing centers, football betting (online and offline) and video game centres in almost every city in Nigeria. And as long as people are still passionate about football, viewing centers and game centres will continually be an avenue to make money in Nigeria for those who will take the advantage.

Just imagine you own game centre with just 3 game consoles (PS 1, PS 2 or PS 3) and each customer pays N50 to play one game which lasts for 10mins. Let us do some arithmetic:

Let’s say your game centre is fully operational from 12pm to 7pm (i.e. 8 hours)
If 1 game lasts 10mins, then in 1hr, 6 games will be played. Meaning u make N300 in an hour (i.e. 6 games X N50)
Therefore in 8 hours you make N2400 (i.e. N300 X 8 hours)
And that’s just the amount made on 1 game console/ station!
For all 3 game consoles, you earn N7200 (i.e. N2400 X3)
Is that not some good money to be made?

What is a Play Station Video Game?

Play station video games are software loaded into consoles. These include war games, board games sports games like soccer, wrestling, motor and bike racing etc. these game consoles have different models e.g. play station 1, play station 2, play station 3 and the newly introduced Xbox.

I am a 30 year old Nigerian who has been residing in South Africa for a couple of years now. I currently own and run a Video Games Store in the CBD of Johannesburg. My store consist of a Video Game's arcade section, A video game repair section and a sales section. I am a self trained Playstation3, Xbox 360 and Wii technician.

In the video Game's arcade section, customers can come and play their favourite game titles on any of my 10 consoles connected to full 10 HDTVs. We charge them per hour for each game they choose to play. I currently have 5 pS3s and 5 Xbox 360 consoles in the arcade section.

In the Repair section i do the following:

Repair 3 Red light Xbox 360s(RROD)
Repair Xbox 360 E70 errors
Repair Xbox360 blank picture errors
Replace Ps3s faulty lens
Chip / Flash Xbox 360s consoles to play copied games
Chip Nintendo wii to play copied games

In the sales section ,i sell copied Xbox 360 games and copied Wii games.
I also sell video games accessories in this section like battery packs, power adaptors, av cables e.t.c
_______________________________________________________________________________

The reason i have created this topic is because i will like to relocate back to Nigeria, I have here in SA for a while and i really miss home. I want to come back home to settle down with my family and establish my business in Lagos. I know how people love video games in Nigeria and i also know how expensive these video games have become.

I feel that i may be able to contribute something positive to the country and the youths if i establish my business there. From what i have gathered so far ,there is no one in Lagos who repairs Xbox 360s ( i may be mistaken but that is what i have heard from my relatives). My business can benefit video game loving Nigerians because here in South Africa i am able to source second hand video game consoles which are in good condition and resell them in Nigeria at reasonable prices. Another plus is my ability to make copied games. The cost of an original Xbox  game range from $60 to $100 but i can make a copy of those games for a mere $5 or less. This will really benefit Nigerians who are struggling to buy one single game.

Like i mentioned above i have been out of the country for a while and i need the professional input of people on the ground in Nigeria. Please advice and tell me if it wise for me to establish this type of business in Lagos or if i should remain in SA.I have attached a picture to give you an idea of what my business is like. I will also like the good people of Nairaland to suggest to me which areas of Lagos my business will thrive in.

Great gamers,
You all have the ideas and most of us here have given it a try. Game business in Nigeria is good but economic situations are not favourable yet.
> I started this business as old as the late 80's. My first tournament was hosted at my 10yrs of age. Really challenging but i had great support to host it.
> Given the challenges of not keeping track of the income made by your staff, you might end up working for the board boys (your staff) and wound down.
> however, I continued to move on with this business and today, am a great successful gamer. but one thing is still missing. am not recognized. No Trophy, No award, nothing to add to my gallary.
> My talent is on games, just name it.
Live football, I captained my team and won trophies
                        Chess, am very good
Monopoly, I play with real Naira and you know what that means
Scrabble, you will suffer to win me
Lawn tennis, I am a sampras
Snooker, I win cue you out in 2 chances
Above all, I am a GURU with PS no matter the software used and I dont set formations to play.
> Am sure you must be flabbergasted if this chap studies his books, believe me I am a 2.1 material in banking and practicing
> I still continued my game show and have decided to let gamers to be recognized in Nigeria.
> Partnering with 2 companies, we have set up a Grand Slam competition of N1,000,000 cash prize and lots of consolation prizes
> Lots of benefits will be accrued to the winners as we will go into signing advert contracts with PS,XBOX,NINTENDO etc. They will sign deals to use the winners to advertise their products. That way we will be recognized.
> moreso, our loved babes, girls, wives will see the potentials in us and stop harassing us especially when we play our addictive games e.g Soccer and adventure
> The competition has been slated and application ends 24th of June 2011. If you are interested to play the soccer competition log into www.dchallenger.net
> The competition will be in VI Lagos, this show will be on the media and given a red carpet at the grand Finale, its already on the jingles and flying. Several companies are calling in to showcase their products and believe me fellow gamers, you have opportunities to be signed into deals with companies like Redbull, Nigerian Breweries, Guinness, Coca Cola, Pepsi, etc for adverts.
> Let us all arise and grab this opportunity. Well D'Challenger is copyright and trademarked to avoid people like one of the telecommunication company in Naija hijacking the competition (Sorry to call name) but it was painful to see them hijack Lagos Street soccer competition my friend gave to them. Check it out. its true
> Every gamer will be given a special line in order to maintain our community, match updates will be sent to everyone.
> Come and showcase your skills. Too many people think its easy to coordinate 11 players at the same time, bearing in mind all their special skills and moves, knowing when to attack, using great formations etc.

The video game business is a money spinner, but it isn't legitimate in my honest opinion. Its dogged by the same problems faced by viewing centres who feed what is supposedly a meduim for private entertainment to the public for a fee.
So as a serious minded person u shud b asking urself how big do u want this to b in ten to fifteen years. What sort of problems would u anticipate by then.
How do you bill your clients? is there a software that you use in keeping track of time? or do you monitor the business yourself(Some bahd guys can really cheat after playing 5 games they'll claim they paid only 3)?

Estranged wife of popular Lagos Pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, Anita, yesterday December 2nd, took to her blog to thank God for pulling her out of mess and making her lead a life now free from abuse. Anita and Chris Oyakhilome have been separated since last year. What she wrote below ...

[b] "December is the last month of the year I start every month thankful and for this month of December I am eternally grateful. I am worthy of love, to give and receive. I have value and self-respect, no one has the ability to oppress, suppress or depress me. I am enough and complete in God. My today is better than yesterday.

I have come to a place of wholeness, strength and joy. God pulled me out of mess; I have a happy life free from abuse. No one can take the place of God; he is sovereign and reigns forever. Man is mortal and his days on earth are numbered. When the end comes, it is a glorious thing to return to our maker, to dwell in His holiness and truth. The end of the year brings a rebirth of another year. The death of something can be the rebirth of another thing. All is not lost. Whatever happens in your life, no matter how distressing things might seem. When darkness appears endless, watch out for that tiny spark of light, when you can muster up the courage to thank God for closed doors. In the process of counting your blessings, you find joy!".
