FBN Fixed Income Fund
Invested in fixed income securities such as bonds and treasury bills

FBN Heritage Fund
Invests in equities, bonds and treasury bills

The difference in both are their asset classes

fixed income has a lower risk than the heritage because part of the funds in heritage are invested in equities

carpenter can tell you the rest
Thanks Boss!
from february fact sheet of Fixed income fund it yielded 10.6% but while going through the fact sheet of that of Heritage fund i could not find yield.

BusinessRe: Why Is It Very Difficult To Find A Team To Work With In Nigeria by Ups01(m): 9:44pm On Feb 28, 2016
well, from my observation successful people don't wait for the timing (or resources/people) to be right. They make it right.

some factors influence if people would be willing to work with/for you.

1. what are your social skills?, can you make people responsive to you within 5min of talking?
2. Are you visionary?
3. Would you stake your existence i.e your life on the accomplishment of a goal?
and so on

in conclusion, There's always somebody who will be willing to partner with you!
IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOU!

the question is goes this way why is very difficult for we Nigerians to come together when we have similar idea and limited resources and experience to form a cooperation or a team ?

i have seen this in so many sector... and in so many individuals... i have come across Everybody Wants to OWN it YET NOBODY HAS IT....

Everybody Want to get it all yet Most even fail to Acquire a little... and even on the long they still dont learn from history...

MY QUESTION IS THAT WHY IS IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR NIGERIANS WITH SAME IDEA COME TOGETHER AND FORM A FORMIDABLE TEAM

PLEASE I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR VIEW

carpenter:
To me, and I may be wrong since I am looking at numbers alone. However, numbers are not the only factors worth looking at.

Once you have an emergency fund somewhere, I would say put all your paper investments capital in your business. The only times it makes sense to source for funds elsewhere is (1) When you do not have the capital or (2) the capital you are sourcing is relatively cheaper than what you get from your paper investments. For example, If you are entitled to an SME loan at 6%, it makes sense to borrow and leave your money in paper investments even as it stands. However, if you would be borrowing at greater than 8.6%...it is better to liquidate your investments and put the money in your business even if you do not have all the money and still have to borrow to compliment it.
Oga carpenter, thanks for the loads of info. But i have been trying to open FBN MNF, to no avail. I tried their website and the only resource i could find was to send them a mail, which they have not replied till now. I when straight to the bank and it seems the customer service does not even know what am talking about.

In essence, HOW DO I OPEN FBN MMF?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: How I Messed Up Job Interview Today... Please Learn! by Ups01(m): 10:44pm On Feb 05, 2016
jayhumble:
I got a call from one of the telecom companies yesterday afternoon regarding an application I put in as far back as November last year. Anyway... Fast-forward to the interview. I woke up very early and prayed, cleanup and get set. Tho I'm a self employed software developer but who wouldn't want to work with a big telecom company or any government offer? I applied for Web Developer position and when I got there... I met about 5 other applicants; it took forever for the GM to show up since the HR teams said they can't proceed with interview without the authority of the GM. Since 8:30am when I got there... The GM didn't show up until 12:15pm...Well, I still didn't mind cuz I was enjoying the AC and free WiFi. All thanks to the front desk lady who gave me the WiFi password cool cheesy I was already crushing on the bae and hoping to y'knw get close once I get employed haha wink.... OK... Fast forward to GM arrival.
The GM checked the list of invitees and gave the HR greenlight to interview us. We were given a very technical online timed test and somehow it was just 2 out of 6 of us that made it to the interview stage cuz after the test, they told me and one other dude to wait behind while they told the other guys that they appreciate their interest blah blah blah we will call u talks (discharging them)
The HR team interviewed the last 2 standing and we both made it past the interview stage and then we were taken to the GM's office for final stage.

GM: Oh just two of you made it here...

Me & Guy: Yes sir

GM: Ok so do you have any past projects done by You? I want to see your past works on Web Development.

Guy: I didn't come along with my flash drive sir, I was hoping we would have our competency tested on company's system.

Me:.... Silent as I watch guy trying to bail himself out of the rope thrown to his neck!

GM: Oh you are not serious... You mean you never have a thought of coming along with you past projects? You wanted to convince us verbally? Oh no we don't work like that here... Go get your past project and come back next time.

(that leaves me as the last man standing meanwhile I have turned on my laptop and started digging out all the websites I built for people and all Web application jobs I ve done in the past from Java to php to ASP. Net and html css)

GM: Young man I see you are all set to present your competency. Let me see what you have to offer

Me: moved closer to his desk and showed him my works and he was quiet impressed. He called someone from the software support department to come and check me out and the dude asked me alot of questions you wouldn't know if you are not used to Web applications development just to know if I am truly who I say I am.

GM: Ok we have an on going project and I'll be glad if you can assist the software support department in executing the project cuz we don't have time.

Me: It'll be my honor sir. I have always have passion for software development and it would be a plus to exhibit my capability for this company

GM: so I'm sure you want big money for salary now

Me: I care more about skills and experience sir. Money will come anyway

GM: (he became very free and less official) We actually need 2 people but with your works so far I'm sure you can do both jobs cuz we need graphic designer and Web Developer and most of your websites comes with photoshopped graphic designs with the slides. I hope the owner of those jobs paid you well. You must be a big man ooo

Me: (Felt comfortable and lose guard my official mode thinking we were just gisting). Most of those clients don't pay me good, I didn't enjoy working for them

(Na so the man change everything for me and everything went 360 in a blink of an eye)

GM: Haha so that's how you will say someday that our company don't pay good and u don't enjoy working for us...

(Well, the rest is history...) he already had the Secretary preparing my employment papers so I can start on Monday but he halted everything and called the HR department in front of me informing them to source for a new Web Developer. The rest is history...

Lesson : Regardless how excited or confident you feel during a job interview, Do NOT EVER EVER tarnish your past employers or clients even if they made you go thru hell, just lie that you enjoyed them and wish you were still there....

Well I came back home in A very depressed mood and I thought I should help a potentially vulnerable person not to make such mistake.

I hope I feel a bit better after pouring my heart out.
If i were you i would demonstrate persistence and re-apply for that same Job

Sometimes we have those days when we just feel down and need something or someone to give us a push and get us going. There is no better person to turn to then to God. These five Bible verses will give you that extra push you need:

1. Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares
the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

2. Psalm 27:4

“One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek
him in his temple.”

3. Isaiah 40:31

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

4. Romans 8:28

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

5. 1 Corinthians 16:13

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.”

Read and share, you might save a life today you never can tell!!!!

FamilyRe: If You're Happily Married, Please Share Your Story by Ups01(m): 4:54pm On Jan 05, 2016
taryour:
Nice thread, here is what works for me.
Firstly I went into my relationship with a statement on my mind(if my mum can remain with my dad with all the challenges they had which I also witnessed, then I can do better)
Ability to communicate effectively, while dating and up till now in marriage with 2 kids our communication has remained very very solid.
Communication has really helped my relationship a lot,it helps us both trash our differences amicably, there are somethings I can't say to my hubby face(cause I know I might not present it well and I don't want to be rude) so I put it into a chat and he understands me perfectly well. Each time we have our arguments,we make sure we apologise n trash it out before the end of the day.we do not go to bed in anger.
I have also learnt not to argue so much with my hubby, whenever he is angry with me am quite and let his anger subside then I apologise(even if deep down in my heart I know I wasn't wrong)I still apologise,I know how angry my hubby can get and I know better than to push further,we both have a bad temper but there can only be one leader, outside my home you don't dare mess with me,I will dish it to you very hot and spicy. I am the very aggressive type but hubby isn't,he is more calm than I am. I argue a lot too but not with hubby except in cases when we are gisting and having fun. Hubby loves football but I hate it with everything but what can I dohuh I simply got used to it,my first son already took after him as a football fan.
We both understand ourselves perfectly,we have been together for over 10years now. We have had our ups and downs which has taught us to be more united and understand ourselves better.
Our sex life might not be has active as when we where still single cause of kids but we have both been active,we have fun anywhere in the house(of course when kids are asleep or in school).we try out new things and I sure don't forget my bowl of ice-cream when I want to give a special treat(call me a dirty woman/raw woman/sex freak/whatever) I care less, his my man.
We have remained each others best friends,we share gifts, watch movies together, shop together, hubby goes to market for me at times and cook as well, we gossip together and share news with each other. We are both social media fans(we actually meet on a social forum and started as friends before dating which led to our marriage). We don't hide anything from each other. He introduced me to nairaland and he is also a active member on nairaland.
We do not encourage 3rd parties into our affairs,it has never and will never happen. What ever happens within our walls die within our walls.we both help ourselves to remain strong in work life and business life. We support ourselves in every possible way we can with the help of God and for once I have never regretted meeting my hubby. If there is a next life,I would chose the same man all over again.
My marriage is not perfect cause there is no perfect marriage but I tell you, marriage is fun and am loving it all the way.
MANY LADIES NEED TO TAKE A QUEUE FROM YOU, Ma
