If it happens, fine! and if not, we can RE-GUESS. Let the guessing game continue... Not guessing my admission status though. O ti sure fun mi l'oruko Jesu Kristi, Oluwa Olorun Mi, eni ti mo gbeke le. |
leyeg: WÀt a long period of time........,Right. thats long. Except that, its not as long as we have all been waiting. Remember... tick tick says the Clock. In no time, we will celebrate. |
Guyz, permit me to guess "ITS 6 WEEKS TO WHEN D.E. LIST WILL BE PUBLISHED"... You guess not? |
found out Direct Entry List is usually released at the end of the year (early December).... Say 60days from today. We all prefer it being earlier than that abi? Tick Tick says the clock... In no time twill be here. We have waited this long, longing for d list... Close ur eyes, take a deep breadth... Smile! You see... your name is on the list. *winks |
Now residing in Ife... Information shouldnt be my problem now. and yes, time to start lobbying for the D.E. admission on a full scale... Guyz, come and over and do thesame. God Bless Us All. |
Wizardprince1: Wit deep sorow and sadnes i herby inform al nairaland friends dat my lif is over.i shal never be hard on dis forum again.after 6years of admisio batle God just stud up ther doin notin.i am not gona quite on admisio but i am quiting on both great ife and trustin God.i lov u guys by 4 now"Before success comes in any man's life, he's sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That's exactly what the majority of men do."-- Napoleon Hil When things go wrong as they sometimes will; When the road you're trudging seems all uphill; When the funds are low, and the debts are high And you want to smile, but have to sigh; When care is pressing you down a bit- Rest if you must, but do not quit. Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit- It's when things go wrong that you must not quit. But you can also redefine your priorities and start again. Do one other thing while trying okay? |
Olami90: pls if dia is any1 dt applied to Faculty of Science, kindly signify....i heard they are abt to move it to d Faculty 4 selection.letz drop our comments nd kip d thread lively.I fink D.E list wunt b out earlier than Nov..Like you know, I applied to Faculty of Science too. You are right about it being by His Grace, there is a lot of competition for limited spaces and it is this Grace that will put us through. I also understand why OAU will want to consider Advanced Level (e.g. ICAN, IJMB) before ND and I guess everyone here does too. Most OAU programmes run for 4years. It suits them to accept ND to 200L of a 5yr programme than to accept ND into Part 2 of a 4year programme. The programme I applied for, Applied Geophysics, requires A'Level or HND (Not ND) for Direct Entry. But, like you said, we know how things work in Nigeria, nothing is impossible! Talk to God, then someone, and take steps, then you can sit back and wait your name appear. Did I just say sit back? Cmmon Get Up! Sit back kini? Abi go spread mat for someone's office. Goodluck We All. |
Okeke_Onyi: Please be informed that the post utme result for 2012/2013 academic session for federal school of surveyring Oyo is out.you can check the result at the school notice board or an sms would be sent to you.good luck!Pls I applied for PD. Guyz... I got admitted to UN's Regional Centre for Training in Aerospace Surveys located inside OAU Campus for a PGD in Geoinformation Technology... but Applied Geophysics with OAU gan gan still on my mind (wanna switch profession ni)... Faith is working... We will all smile at the end. Every single person here... You nau. |
(Just passing by)... The wait is sickening... but can never break us. Someone needs to hit this thread a crescendo. (has left)... |
daarworld: d last time i went there, believe me i saw the blacklisted schls.I didnt say OAU did not blacklist some schools please... We are only tryna discuss what is behind it. If you have the blacklist post it here please |
Here is what I make of these: 1. This was 2003, culdnt have been Life Blacklisting 2. It was just a media speculation 3. The spokesman went on to deny it. 4. I dont know what else to think. |
extract continues.... ______________________ The university authorities have taken this measure to avoid the July 10, 1999 cult war at the institution in which seven students were killed. Students, the sources added, have formed anti-cult groups to ensure that adequate monitoring of their colleagues within the campus were carried out while the institution's security network "had been up to task." Another employee of the institution who preferred anonymity explained that although the decision would affect some innocent candidates, "it is better to save the whole lot of our students from being contaminated by these evil- minded, wicked, ungodly, lazy and bad groups." He disclosed that few months ago, one of these cult groups wrote to the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rogers Makanjuola, warning him against his stand on cultism "but upon investigation, we realised that the letter did not come from our students here but from outside." When The Guardian contacted the university spokesman, Femi Afolabi, he said the Senate has "not come up actually with such decision." "How did you get that information? Maybe the VC will be able to talk on this, but I don't really know anything as regards what you're saying", he said. ______________________ extract finishes |
BLACKLIST ? Seriously? What do you know about it ?If it exists, its not for academic reasons. Here is an extract of what I found on a Guardian Newspaper of 2003 ________________________ T O curb the menace of cultism, authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife have excluded candidates from tertiary institutions believed to be cultism-prone from their admission lists, The Guardian has learnt. According to sources, majority of the rejected candidates were those seeking direct entry admission and those willing to enrol in the university from other institutions. Some of the affected schools included Osun State Polytechnic, Iree; Osun State College of Technology, Esa- Oke; Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin; Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma; Lagos State University (LASU) and University of Ilorin (UNILORIN). Besides, majority of the higher institutions from the South-South and South-East have been "blacklisted" by the university authorities, sources at OAU said "The admission committee, headed by a professor was not even considering candidates from those institutions. "OAU is respectable and known as a citadel of learning and today, you can bear me witness that the institution is one of the most cultism-free in the country", he said. |

Yeah there is a STRIKE but its non academic. NASU members at OAU have begun an indefinite strike over the alleged non- implementation of the 15 per cent CONTISS salary, poor welfare and salary increment, among other demands. |
FACTS TIME Somethings will affect admission this year. Use you good judgement given this Quotes from the THE WHITE PAPER ON THE VISITATION PANEL TO OAU, May 2012 "The NUC Panel observed that the University failed to abide by NUC carrying capacity in the admission process by admitting students in excess of its approved quota and this continues to have adverse impact on infrastructures, municipal services and quality of learning." RECOMMENDATIONS (i) The University should strictly comply with the carrying capacity and admission quota as prescribed by the NUC. (ii) The NUC should strictly enforce the carrying capacity of the University. Comment The Visitor accepts recommendations (i) and (ii). |
New information at the 2012 Direct Entry e-Registration Portal has it that Registration now ends on Tuesday, July 10, 2012.... This is good news for those who didnt register on time. I saw it coming... becoming JAMB's routine. Please I want you all to email jamb and clamour for statistics of the Direct Entry applicants to various institution be released to us on their website just as it was with the UTME. It will feed our hunger, our waiting. There is strenght in numbers. de2012.info@jamb.gov.ng is the address. |
Olami90: ursa......does dt mean d photocopy green form we filled is nt valid??are we gonna fil d new oneNo! Simply. Abi u no fill am correctly? |
Guyz... Here is what I've found out so far. 1. There is nothing like "purchase of green form"... it is free 2. The new green form is kinda new... neat, printed unlike the Fuckedup photocopied ones that were available 2-3weeks ago (U know what I mean olammy90), but all thesame content. 3. Even the new green form is submitted at the admissions office... I suppose they will be the ones to forward it to various departments just like I thought before. 4. Submission of transcript is still on going, and to the best of the knowledge of officers at Registry, There is no closing date.... aside, They only just started First Semester Exams and admission process doesnt end until when tge academic session ends (say September). 5. The officers at the registry wont give their mobile no. as "Students abuse it". and I can understand why. The best way to confirm if your transcript was received at OAU is to confirm if it was sent in the first place from your school. 6. Forgot to ask about the first list stuff, but from my point of view... It should not be later than 1st week of October, giving JAMB is gaining grounds more and more about uniform academic calenders in Nigerian Universities (and they are strict about it this time). For example, it was JAMB that directed all Universities to conduct post UTME before June 27 (and as you can see, they are all complying). 7. Ultimately, there is nothing like Post DE.... to my own delight. The battlefield for admission should be level. Post DE is an avenue to sideline poor me with a merit. 8. OAU is Cool, in fact, already I'm a Great Ife Student. How about you? Faith works. 2go: ursa23...... watsapp: 08038601954..... Guyz... I will be at OAU tomorow to submit my new transcript.... (Remember I had problems with the older one). Was shocked to hear the "submitted to the department of choice" all over Nigerian websites yesterday. And oh! not only that, also saw "purchase the form" and in some other places there are CRAZY "post DE form".... etc I would have asked my H.O.D. to be over e.mail but having had over 10 conversations on email before, I guess I need to free him. WILL BE AT OAU TOMOROW, Monday.... |
