Looks like the material used in them. Not all but some. I have to help a client of mione buy a replacement for a 2007 Camry few months back. And we bought the dash for a 2008 with no issues.

Early Infinity FX (2003-2004) has similar issues. They actually bubble. The manufacturer has to issue a free replacement dash for all affected. Some 2004-2005 Lexus RX330 has cracking issues but with a factory made dash cover, you should be fine

Just the luck of the draw. Seems to only affect certain batches not all.

Its somewhat common on the Camry to do that. You can get an upholstery shop to perfectly cut leather on top and glue it down.

Then you cover with dashboard cloth specifically made for Camry and you will be OK

The issue of conversion has been discussed on this forum at length. However, if its advisable is a different issue. You need to remember that converted cars sells cheaper than non converted. No matter how good you do the conversion, it will still be obvious to experienced buyers. So keep that in mind.

The neatness of the job also matters. So is how proper it was done. Not just some quark doing lousy job. So many things comes into play.

IT MIGHT BE WORTH IT IF YOU KEEP ALL THESE IN MIND.

Otherwise, you might as well go to other European countries and get yourself a "proper" car. Its hard enough selling cars in Nigeria as it is
