uwish: Hello,Hi Nairalanders, As promised on kinds of truck to use: The following trucks are good for haulage depending on the section you are venturing into: (a) MAN --- Easy and cheap to maintain, available spare parts and very cheap, though costly to purchase in tipper (b) DAF --- Just as MAN but the better of it is ATI model (c) IVECO --- As well cheap and easy to maintain even when it is ageing (the better of it is TURBOSTAR) but could develop troublesome brake if not well handled, then it injector must be well maintained not to become problematic (d) MACK --- Rugged and lasting but easily develop axle problem especially the 20ton tipper (e) MERCEDES BENZ --- Available spare parts but not cheap, then do get overheating problem but can be tackled by replacing the radiator to bigger one Call for more info on 08132820002 or e-mail HAULAGINO@GMAIL.COM Thanks |

DO YOU HAVE A FLATBED TRUCK IN GOOD CONDITION THAT CAN TRAVEL UP-COUNTRY, BUT NO JOB. THEN CALL ME ON 08132820002 OR HAULAGINO@GMAIL.COM |
Hello, For many that had been asking me questions on oil & gal (Tanker) haulage, especially why I am not encouraging people to go into that section of haulage. To the best of my knowledge, the reasons are as follows: SHORTCOMINGS OF TANKER HAULAGE: 1. The required capital to start the business is very high: The purchasing of the truck head (tractor) and building of the tanker (trailer) with all the necessary accessories is close to N8 million if not more than. 2. The risk involves in the business is very high from stealing to fire accident, etc 3. If you intend insuring the business (which is advisable), the insurance premium is on high side. 4. At most times if the truck is going up-country (outside locality), the driver can steal fuel suppose to deliver & this is bore by the transporter. 5. Most major marketers (conoil, mobil, AP etc) require you to have up to at least 5 truck in your fleet to be a transporter with them e.g Mobil requires 20 trucks) and if you are to be under a major transporter, your truck might not go up to 4 times in a month because it is been rationalized among many trucks under them. 6. The Returns on Investment does not justify the cost incurred to put up the business 7. Many of the filling station owners have their own trucks so many trucks contest for little job. 8. The viability of the business most of the times depends on govt. policy and many more other reasons For more information contact or call me on 08132820002 or HAULAGINO@GMAIL.COM |
Let him/her that is without sin first cast the stone. Though it is an ungodly act. |
Hello Nairalanders, Journalists scrambling for an interview with Customs officials at the APM Terminal, Apapa Wharf, Lagos, NigeriaAs promised the FG. started the haulage of containerized-cargo last week friday, and this will definitely has negative effects on haulage transport especially for flatbed truck that work from Apapa. SOLUTIONS 1. You can divert your truck to working for companies that are not located at Apapa but would still need it 2. You can change the flatbed trailer to either back-box trailer to carry finished goods for maunfacturing companies or to tipper bucket to carry granite/sand to construction sites from quarry. 3. If you are yet to go into haulage and you are interested in the business, then the better section to venture into are 15tons back-box and 20tons dump truck (Tipper). These two I can guaranteed you that there is enough job now. 4. You can bring your flatbed truck to working within the local area that is not going for up-country jobs though the income will reduce drastically. For more information, call me on 08132820002 or email: HAULAGINO@GMAIL.COM

Hi, Chekitaut: Will you rather do business with Tipper trailer then...tractor heads are welcome into tipping trailers.Yes, you are correct. But there is more than going into tipping business. See you in the next posting |
Hi Nairaladers, For as many that had been asking me the question of what section of the haulage is better venture into. Read this breaking news: [b] Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced plans to flag-off container freights from APM terminal in Apapa Port, Lagos to Inland Container Nigeria Ltd (ICNL) depots in Kaduna and Kano on Friday 23rd August, 2013.[b] This implies: 1. There will no job for at least 40 trailers (Flat bed) up-country, that is 40 trailers will not have enough job going outside Lagos State. 2. The 40 trailers (Flat bed) will join the league of trailers jostling for local jobs 3. There will be too many trucks (Flat bed) competing for too many little local job 4. The freight rate for (Flat bed) will reduce drastically for both local and up-country job 5. The cost of trailer (Flat bed) will reduce because many might not buying it. 6. There will be a lot of shift to other section of haulage Then what is way out? |

@op This is my first time of seeing or hearing snakes been together in accord without biting one another, contrary to my local saying that says: "Aikowo rin omo ejo lo fiya je won." meaning Snakes are being molested because they never walked in company. Then how come these ones are in the company? |
dejaito72: I have a grade A freight liner truck for business in haulage to move products around. Please help out someone to advice or educate me on the haulage business. ThanksThen talk to me on 08132820002 or email:haulagino@gmail.com |
@ patrioticme Thanks for all your compliments. I thank you very much for your effort and for helping everyone. God will reward you in kindGod please reward me both in kind and cash 1. What is the best type of truck/trailer to buy for interstate trips i.e. from Lagos to AbujaThe following trucks are good for up-country trip: MACK (CH & R MODEL) IVECO (TURBO STAR -- 190/36) Straight engine DAF MAN DIESEL 2. How much should i be expecting to invest in two truck heads, fabrication (for 30,000 litres tanker) and shipping from Germany or neighbouring countriesSince you already have 2 truck heads, no problem but as per the shipping I don't have the idea, you can get in touch with any of these clearing and forwarding agent you know. For the fabrication we only have 33,000ltrs, 40,000 ltrs and 45,000ltrs (there is no 30,000 ltrs). The last time I priced it was last July (2012) and the range I was given is N6between N3.5million and N4.2 million. You will then purchase new 8 tyres and rims at the cost of N60,000 and N15, 000 each respectively. 3. Are the risks involved the same as the other haulage businesses that you have mentionedYes, those are the major risks and can be solved by obtaining comprehensive insurance for the truck and good-in-transit insurance for the conveyed good. The cost of the insurance depends on the value (Amount)of the truck & nature of the goods. 4. What are the approximate expected returnThis depends on many factors, such as: -- Loading location -- The marketer you operate under -- The major transporter you registered with -- The seriousness of your driver -- The condition of your engine -- The number of trip your driver is able to make in a week/month/year etc. 5. Is the market saturated in NigeriaBe sure that like every other sector, there are a lot of competition To the best of my knowledge, I have try to type the little I know because frankly speaking I don't operate tankering haulage for some reasons I cannot disclose here. For more information call me on 08132820002 or HAULAGINO@GMAIL.COM |
