Has the CBN lost steam in her effort at "stabilizing" the Naira? Why is everyone silent on the recent depreciation? Are we fine with the current state of our economy?

Earlier in April, the Naira was appreciating daily that it almost braced the N1000/$ mark. At that time, some of us argued that the CBN may have returned to the era of defending the Naira. Now that the whirlwind of depreciation has returned, coukd someone tell us what changed, except that the depletion of our external reserves became significantly noticeable.
