Politics › Re: What Is Usefulness Of NIDCOM? by Validated(op): 1:20pm On Sep 13, 2025
DomPerignon:
NIDCOM came into existence by an Act of Parliament that established it in 2017.

Go and read the act enabling NIDCOM.

It has no duplicating function with our Foreign Missions .

You are just angry that an agency exists as a Name Checkers Agency.

Cry harder.

NAPTIP was created to check human trafficking and sex exploitation that was dominated by Edo .

Edo people did not complain instead their Oba has even laid down a curse on any Edo citizen who continues trafficking and sexual exploitation of their women and girls.

Be like Edo people and reform yourself.

The only reason you hate NIDCOM is because they are exposing your criminality in the diaspora.
Again, no substantive content, just begging the issues.

DomPerignon:
All because Abike exposed your population in prisons abroad.

So NIDCOM should be scrapped because of what exactly ?

And why is it only you guys complaining of both NIDCOM and Abike?

You never talk wetin NIDCOM do you.
The commission is NON-VALUE adding. It is a duplication of function. Whatever they are doing or thought to be doing is a duplication of the

function of the Foreign Affairs ministry. I have no issues with Abike or anyone, for I care Tinubu can assign her to be Minister of States for

Foreign Affairs, but, a commission with out portfoloi is an abberation and should be scrapped.

For goodness sake, why are we so wasteful in Nigeriahuh Like I mentioned, some embassies are owing rent, yet we have to spend BORROWED

FUNDS on frivolities? Everything is not politics or other sentiments, WE HAVE TO USE COMMON SENSE!!!

DomPerignon:
NIDCOM wasn't set up to be a get-me-outta-jail free card

The functions of the commission are clearly stated in its enabling act and it's to galvanize Nigerians in the diaspora and encourage them to portray the country in good light . The commission promotes cultural activities abroad with the participation of the Nigerian diaspora and also encourages Nigerians abroad to reinvest back home .

Have you watched the ITV series Banged Up Abroad?

Its a TV doc that covers the life of mostly British citizens spending lengthy prison sentences or life sentences in countries abroad.

Most of the time, a British embassy staff visits the inmate to provide basic supplies.

In one of the series, an inmate was sounding frustrated that the British govt wasn't doing anything to spring them out of jail.

The interview then pans to a staff of the British embassy who responded by saying that the British govt has a policy of not interfering in the judicial process of other countries and constantly makes this very clear to their citizens through the Home office that they shouldn't expect any miracles if they violate the laws of other sovereign countries and that they should expect the most basic assistance in terms of providing legal assistance and advice to any of their citizens if they are arrested and convicted for any criminal offense abroad.

Maybe you see America as an example which goes the extra mile to spring their citizens out of jail so as to exert their power over those nations.

Americans presidents do this to assert America's dominance over weaker nations and as a PR stunt by POTUS that he can bring Americans back home and that US citizens enjoy the full protection of their government irrespective of if they break the laws of another nation.

Note that no other nation other than the US and Israel does this for their citizens.

Nigeria is not a lawless country and we respect the laws of other sovereign nation.

NIDCOM wasn't setup to get your blodas out of jail whenever they commit crime abroad.
Take note.
I see you have made three consecutive posts without striking any cord, just rambling about. My question to you is can the so called functions of NIDCOM be performed by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs? If yes, why is Nigeria creating a WASTE PIPE to drain our borrowed fund? Did you read that we spent N2.74Trillions as debt servicing costs?
Last month Nigeria stand in Japan economic expo was empty and unmanned, where was NIDCOM?
There was a program in Toronto last month, something like Taste of Nigeria where our culture and food were on display, where was NIDCOM?
Nigeria does not need a commission for people in Diaspora. Does NIDCOM have database of Nigerians abroad?

Of what use is such a commission when Nigeria embassies are owing rent?

Politics › What Is Usefulness Of NIDCOM? by Validated(op): 5:39am On Sep 13, 2025
Nigeria has ministry of external affairs. We have embassies and high commissions, we have military attaches in these missions. What is the usefulness of duplicating their functions by creating a useless commission for our citizens in the Diaspora? Does Ghana have GIDCOM or is there something like SAIDCOM? Why do we like to waste our resources in useless agencies?

A nation that survives on borrowing should eliminate useless agencies and commissions like NIDCOM. I have lived in North America for over 10 years, never has anyone asked what I do for a living. To get my passport renewed I have to pay external agencies to help process NIN, yet some lazy people are collecting estacides in the name of useless commissions that add zero value to Nigeria.
India and China have the highest population of immigrants world over. They do not waste resources in the name of Diaspora commission. Same applies to the Philippines, but in Nigeria we find ways to "settle " political cronies in the name of frivolous commissions.

Let 2027 come, most of these useless commissions, committees, agencies, bootlicking and politically motivated agencies would be scrapped and probed.

Let me wait a little for ADA or ADC before registering for NASS. Come 2027, I want to head to NASS and possibly resign to lead EFCC. We must recover all the loots these thieves are stashing outside. In fact we will strip them bare and jail them by God's grace and mercy.
Politics › Reno Omokri And Self Delusion Replies by Validated(op): 12:03pm On Sep 12, 2025
Reno Omokri should by now know that discerning Nigerians already know about his deluded self created replies on social media. Nigeria has over 100 million youths, most of them on social media, especially X or Twitter and Facebook.
Based on Nigeria population, Igbos occupy No. 3 position, so we can infere that they do not have the highest number of social media users.
Even Reno's demographic followers are not up to 40% Igbos. However, for some inconceivable reasons, only Igbos with first names only post to Reno on issues pertaining to other ethnic groups. So you see posts like:
- Reno replies Nedu on Yoruba culture and food
- Reno replies Amaka why Nigeria is indissoluble
- Reno replies Okoro why Hausa ... blah blah blah
- Reno school Chioma on Bini people's... blah blah blah
The next you will see post like Reno educates Ifeoma or Ndubuisi or Eze. He never replies Pelumi or Biodun or Musa. These his followers never have last names that they can be traced. Neither do they have locations.
For some very strange reason, Yorubas, whom he now call Lukumis, Northerners and Muslims do not post topics he found worthy to reply to. What a per-excellent coincidence?

@Reno, we are smarter than your self-delusion. Kindly grow up, you are in your 50s and should be showing maturity for your age.

Mr commissioner, did Lagos State Government provide sewage evacuation drains for waste water? Why seal off an estate if Government does not provide required infrastructure. Does LAWMA expect the residential property provide waste water drainage? Why do people pay taxes and tenement or land use charges?

Lagos is called MEGA city fir mouth. In every MEGA city, the authorities provide central drainage system in Lagos, individuals build their home, build their water supply system, provide their electricity, renovate their access roads, yet pay exhortation taxes. This needs to change. LAGOS TRULY SMELLS BEVAUSE GOVERNMENT IS MORE OF OWAMBE

The reason is the Yoruba elders failed to empower the upcoming Yoruba youths/children. They failed to assist them acquire wealth building skills. Unlike the igbos that have apprenticeship programs that help build wealth.
When you don't uplift the young ones in your tribe, others that do so will come and buy your properties in the future.
I bought land for N4m in 2006, paid Omonile N300k for receipt, paid their young men N160k and processed CofO, etc with Fashola for about N1m. Paid unquantifiable amount for building approval. I paid all these because I am not an indigine.
Now if anyone want to buy back, they should get N1.5billion as the 6 flats are paying N3.5m each.
