"Investing is not about beating others at their game,it's about controlling yourself at your own game" -Benjamin Graham "There are two kinds of people that lose money, those that know nothing and those that knows everything" - Howard Mark |
rebekah2011:Infact we should expect it lower in the nearest future, that is why in times like this a stock with 10% div yield or more,good/fair result, at or close to year low gives some kind of inner peace, the worst would be to chop,10 % for the, year,i dont think that is bad for a BAD year |
eziokwunwoko:Today is 23/10/19 o |
mendes911:Hmmm,this one back to 1.80 or below sef |
eziokwunwoko:I dont think, there should be any reason for you to be scared of buying conoil at this price, infact to me it's a giveaway at this price,as long as its not the only stock in your portfolio.Just keep some cash for a little 'averaging down' incase the need arises.just like peterichy said, its highly unpredictable, but its unpredictable is more on the upside than the downside from this price. |
DeRuggedProf:You are right prof ,infact the accumulation has actually being in batches, there was actually one around 13.50 and went on for a long time.they actually tried to keep it at that level, but natural forces of demand and supply prevailed. |
RabbiDoracle:That's why i dont go near those gang, lessons learnt in the past .Buying good stocks at bargain prices is still the thing for me.though requires a lot of patience |
Princkez:What if it goes the other way sir. Was just wondering if all the even players in Manchester united were all strikers,or all defenders . ![]() Dont mind me bro please stick to what works for you,its just that me i cannot come and die because of one stock o |
pluto09:Buy high, sell higher gang. ![]() |
BullBearMkt:Correct sir, q1 showing some improvement, revenue up by 7.1% ,PAT also up 5.9%,q2 likely to be a major determining factor. "Large amount of money aren't made by buying what everybody likes, they are made by buying what everybody underestimates" - Howard Mark. |
This week will surely be interesting,am sure this kind of debates are going on elsewhere, both offline and online, this is actually giving insights to what is to come. |
Princkez:Only one ![]() |
Most cement companies have actually done well this year in terms of capital appreciation(except for Dangcem -reasons not far fetched).Even ccnn has moved from10+ to 17 just this year, though units slightly bloated now,the company is also not doing bad, with huge market dominance in African countries close to the northern region. The amount of money pumped by the government into construction ,housing usually reflects/impacts on corresponding stocks on NSE, unlike agriculture where amount pumped into it hardly reflects on corresponding stocks, on NSE,if not livestock feeds, okomu, presco should be doing better than what we are seeing presently. This year might actually be the "Cement year" ![]() |
Hmmm. Total just doing its thing.it has finally succeeded in overtaking eterna oil on my watchlist of "Troubled stocks".oando just dey watch as the 2,dey hustle for leadership.Anyway life na turn by turn. Not a buy/sell/hold recommendation o,just playing around with "Distressed investing". "Some people get rich by studying artificial intelligence. Me, I make money studying natural stupidity".- Carl Ichan. |
pluto09:The company actually went through a lot o,but it seem to be well structured now, with subsidiaries making good profit. Picking some units at 3.90 would not be a bad idea, one can pick more when it get to that your junction(that's if it ever gets there).looking at its close year end, buying on a scale down would actually be better,so as not to miss out. That your junction is just like waiting for zenithbank to get to 17 in january before buying |
Mcy56:Another juju stock, cant really predict what the management could do.it has been doing fairly well in recent times, supported with good numbers.Does not really have too much competitors in its sector.Has been consolidating well around 4.00,thousands lucky to pick some at 3.87.A good end of year result to send it to the skies. |
Coolcash1:Cant uba just take a cue from access bank |
Coolcash1:Thanks so much, sir,i just saw a lot of accumulation at 100 some few weeks back and now its climbing up gradually, close to full bid, people don sell tire.okay lets watch wat q3 will say |
Has Total bottomed out,,Chai distressed investing seems to be tough these days o.Anyway a fair q3 should send this one to the skies |
currentprice: |
BullBearMkt:How about "Dividendly" ![]() Its been hovering around 15.25 and 15.60 for weeks, even lower before the transient bull ,thats a cool 13% div yield.though illiquid, but as for me,it will always be part of my portfolio(at least the dividend class.) Its been relatively consistent in div payment over year.i'll still stick to the fact that Dividends dont lie. |
Mcy56:My sister the reason why people are offloading, is not far fetched.(partial profit taking),there was so much accumulation at 4.5.so people took that advantage(at least for a stock that paid 65k i guess),if you were opportuned to buy at 4.5 and sold at 8.4 thats a cool,86% ,haba , these does not happen often in bear markets, Abi na limping bull sef |
DeRuggedProf:I dont think so sir, maybe you are referring to diworsefication. I thinks there is nothing bad in sufficient diversification.,as long as you pick good stocks at bargain prices . In a market like ours with so much uncertainties,i think sufficient diversification is appropriate. Extreme concentration works more in advanced market, where you can beat your chest that a company would be around for several years with consistent div payment.(although, some still dissapoint- blackberry comes to mind),Most legendary investors never started with concentration, when their markets was still at the developmental stage, even the so called Warren Buffet. Capital preservation is key and comes first, then profits can follow later. Lets learn from our own,Oando actually looked promising then, but what is happening to it today,if only someone like ucheson had bought, about 5 -10 ,good stocks at bargain, instead of insisting on buying only oando at #21, am sure his cash would still have been preserved "Lets learn from the mouse, a mouse never entrust its life to only one hole" |
Agbalowomeri:I dont really understand this last statement sir |
Agbalowomeri:Hmm,this is extreme concentration o,i respect you sir.me sha i cannot come and die because of 1 stock o, sufficient diversification makes me sleep well o ![]() |
Mcy56:Simple, "Winners rotate" |
quantity19:Wrong timing, investors are still buying, here, you should have been here earlier, probably some few weeks back when people were dumping zenith at 16+, and gtb at 26 +, hoping to re enter in future at 12 and 18 respectively. Anyway you can PM Agba, i guess he's the only one that still has some spare cash under his mattress here ![]() |
fxuser:Also added some heineken with 33, then sold some fcmb to buy some Dangcem.I hope am mixing the right drink sha. ![]() Welcome back fxuser, you just came back at the right time |
Godlylifeoneart:You have said it all, Atimes ,Trouble is where the big fortune lies. Being open minded when dealing with financial markets comes with great gain. |
akinssan:Me just dey joke dey enjoy myself o.But all the same the atmosphere is looking brighter. |
735i:Oga i dey your back o.Nothing to buy again,na siddon look we dey o.we dey wait for the matters gang to help us push the price up small. ![]() |
