Of all the shady deals being reported about Tinubu and Lagos State government of both Fashola and Ambode, why is it that Sowore has a handful of face saving reports against Tinubu. This is from 'almighty sahara reporters' that churn out exposé on daily basis against people like saraki, dino etc.

The OP wanted something handled automatically, without human interference (that's what automatically means), you handle this type of situations best with a periodically running task (that's what CRON is). When the task runs, it checks if certain conditions, as determined by the developer, are fulfilled. If they are, perform certain operations, in the OP's case, sending the data he wants to it's destination. Hope you learnt something today? Well, if you think I am a noob, why don't we find out? A task as simple as posting your portfolio/tech stack and years of programming professionally, are you game?

Your interest lies only in definition and uses CRON. You didnt go beyond that when you jumped in on this thread.
Possibly you have sent the OP an email without any thought at all and if he falls for your claim to being one of the geeks who left nairaland for the noobs he will send an advance payment only for you to abscond with his money when you realize that what he wants cannot be done the way you thought you could.

If you know as much as you claim in programming, you wouldnt even start to mention cron in this kind of solution. CRON is for scheduled tasks and if one is to resell data it needs to happen instantly with confirmation of payment.

CRON runs a script on your server and thats about what it can do for you. It (or other normal human assisted requests from the website) cannot connect to admin's mobile phone, send some ussd code that will debit his already subscribed sme data plan and send that same data to his clients phone.
While that is not an impossible task, there is no platform or api YET from network providers to let you do that from a script hosted on a webserver which can then be run by CRON or regular requests.

Have you been cleared now or at least get an idea what the challenge is - my geeky friend?

Theres no api or ussd platform from network providers to enable you do that programmatically. Anyone who claims he can do it is only saying so because he has never given it a real thought or possibly downright scam attempt.

Mobile app files are "hosted" within the device. That is to say, the files are there inside the device.
As for database and some files, the app developer have the option of returning data from remotely hosted database via API calls, this means that the app can send a request to the webserver and it will return database query results or data to the mobile app.
In this case, the database is not saved inside your device but remotely hosted and you need internet connection to the mobile device to achieve this.
However, there are file based database like sqlite which can be saved inside the app directories within the device.
In case of databases embedded in the app like the one above, you can also make requests to the remote server and then update your in-app database like sqlite and you can as well send data from the mobile app to the remotely hosted database or server.

So in essence, there is nothing like host for mobile app like is obtainable in web applications though data used in the app can be "gotten" and sent to a remotely hosted server.

This thread opened my eyes a lot on the kind of advise people throw around on nairaland.

People are saying things like 4GB ram, Core I3 and all the things but the guy just wants to start and I am sure most of these people saying all these use systems with less than 2GB ram and lower specs PCs.

Why scare people for nothing.

The guy just want to start and even android studio or visual studio can run on a 1GB intel core 2 duo CPU which he can get for as low as 30k at Computer Village.

Please use the SQL below:

However, the above query will work on 2 conditions:

1. that you have a unique key ( I assumed it to be uid in the query above even though it apears you have it as usid) identifying each student on both exam and ca tables.
2. that the columns selected on ca_result and exam_result tables in the sub query are equal

N.B: when i say sum(eng) or sum(maths) I assumed eng and maths to be a correct column name in the tables please use your actual table column names.

Most times programming challenges are usually solved with an idea that is completely different from the perspective you are approaching it.

I do not know the full details of the CA and exam score tables so I cant help much.

How ever, have you thought about summing CAs and exam scores separately and saving each total in a variable which you can also add together.

i dont understand your situation properly so my advise might not make any sense.

Please provide more details.
