AN INTERVIEW WITH THE THEIVES FATHER ALHAJI BANJOKO

Many Nigerians in Minnesota have started what appears to be personal campaigns against some of the alleged credit card thieves currently being detained at Ramsey county jail, Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA, as well as their cronies, by circulating images and accounts of the activities of the alleged members of the credit card theft-ring on social networking sites like Facebook and Youtube in a calculated move to embarrass the families of the accused.
Investigations conducted by African-online revealed that majority of Nigerians in Minnesota who were angry by the reference being made by the local news media in the state that some of the alleged credit cards thieves were highly respected leaders of the Nigerian community in the state have taken it upon themselves to expose the gang members and their cronies in the state.
First to throw the salvo is the President of the Minnesota Institute of Nigerian Development (MIND) Dr. Richard Oni who in a press release to the media houses in the state declared that the activities of the arrested Nigerian criminals did not in any way represent those of the thousands of other Nigerians who thrived daily to contribute to the well-being of their communities here in the United State.
"These criminal elements are not leaders in our community but an unrecognized and shady group that operated outside the purview of the true leaders of our community. They do not represent us and do not in any way exemplify the activities of our community" the statement read in part.
An un-identified Nigerian who goes under the name of "Cnnbrooklynpark" has posted the photographs of many alleged gang members on the facebook as well as the video containing one of the suspects, Oyetoyin Atobatele test driving a 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 which is conservatively valued at $57,000.
Another Nigerian (name withheld) told African-online that the video containing the alleged leader of the gang while spraying Dollars on a Nigerian Juju Musician, Yinka Ayefele would soon be posted on Youtube for the world to see. The video which African-online obtained one of its copies was recorded last year when the Juju musician performed in the state.

Family fury:

Meanwhile, some family and friends of the alleged suspects are now venting their angers over the release of the photographs of some of the prime suspects to the Nigerian news media.
African-online's reporter got the bashing from a person who claimed to be the father of Abiodun and Olayemi Banjoko last Thursday when an attempt was made to hear the side of the story of one of the two brothers who posted bail for $45,000 last week.
The man who claimed to be Ahaji Banjoko threatened to sue this reporter for sending the stories of the credit card fraud to Nigerian newspapers for publication.
Below is the interview which was conducted in Yoruba (a Nigerian native language) with Alhaji Banjoko, father of two of the alleged suspects. Excerpt:
Alhaji Banjoko: Is this the journalist, eh, are you, (in-audible)
Africa-online : May I know who is calling, please?
Alhaji Banjoko: You're a Yoruba boy, yes, I'll talk to you in Yoruba language, You know,  you these boys that just finished from journalism schools and think you can embarrass people any how.
Africa-online : Sir, I'm sorry you need to identify yourself if we are going to continue this conversation. You called my phone, you need to identify yourself, (cut)
Alhaji Banjoko: I am the father of the two boys you have been writing nonsense about! You think you can embarrass my children. (Now raising his voice) I will sue you if you ever call or embarrass them again! You sent their stories to Lagos, I will sue you, because you just finished journalism school you think, (cut in)
Africa-online: Sir, with due respect sir, I don't really think you need to announce to me if you are going to sue me for a story I wrote about your children, this is a free world sir. The story I wrote were obtained from the public records and I don't think I embarrass anybody by publishing what is in public record, (interrupting)
Alhaji Banjoko: (Raising his voice) Eh!, I have children who are lawyers and doctors, I worked for a ministry in Lagos for more than 20 years and I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota. You think small boy like you who just finished journalism school can embarrass me?
Africa-Online: Sir, this is not about you or your achievements,  perhaps you can use this opportunity to set the record straight on why your children were arrested alongside others.
Alhaji Banjoko; I am not going to talk to you again about anything, ? I'm warning you now! stop embarrassing my children.
African-online: I do no intend to embarrass anybody sir,
Alhaji Banjoko: Stop talking to me, you know the real culprits and you didn't put them in the news. Stop putting my children in the news leave them alone!
Africa-online: Sir, I did not put your children in the news, they are the one that put themselves in the news, I think rather than putting the blame on me, you should be telling the whole world your children's roles in this case.
Alhaji Banjoko: They were roped in , I am mad at you, I think, I should not talk to you again, you are just wasting my time (he hung up the line)

Interpol involvement

In another development, Africa-online gathered that the International Police (Interpol) may have been alerted to affect the arrest of the alleged leader of the gang, Bashiru Adelumola Fowoshere a dual citizen of US and Nigeria who is being wanted in connection with the crime.
Africa-online scooped from a source closed to the gang that Mr Fowoshere might have actually fled Nigeria to Dubai, United Arab Emirate because of the fear that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria might turn him in to the United States Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI).
An unconfirmed report stated that one of the containers shipped to Nigeria by leader of the gang had been intercepted by the Nigerian authority after a tip off from their US counterparts.
The shipping agents (name withheld) used by the leader of the gang to ship some of the assorted cars to Nigeria was said to have been interrogated by the US police about five months ago. The shipping agent who is also in Nigeria is said to have fled the country before the recent clamp down on the suspects.

Nigerian credit card ring in Minnesota exposed!

There is palpable fear among Nigerian crime communities in the Twin cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota, as agents of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehensions, BCA began rounding up some Nigerians believed to be involved in credit card theft and identity fraud in the northern part of the United States.
Eleven Nigerians, eight of who are currently being detained at the Ramsey County jail in St Paul Minnesota have been charged with multiple counts of fraud for allegedly running a counterfeit credit card scheme and stealing more than $650,000.
According to the Department of Justice the list of the charged individuals include Bashiru Adelumola Fowoshere and Titilayo Abidemi Fowoshere, both of Ramsey; Adekunle Kayode Ayeni, Yewande Mariam Sholebo, Adewale Alba Alli, Olayemi Lateef Banjoko, Idowu Ayinla Sadiq, Abiodun Banjoko and Oyetoyin Oseni Atobatele, all of Fridley; Oriyomi Enitan Olowosago of Brooklyn Park; and Ajibola Alli Fowoshere, whose address is unknown.

Abidemi Ayeni Fowoshere, wife of Delu is known in many social functions as the 'big girl' and was allegedly known to carry not less than $2,000 in cash in her wallet all the time. She too is now in Ramsey County jail.

Africa-Online's correspondent; Wasiu Sodeinde scooped that the alleged leader of the gang, popularly known as Delu is currently being sought in connection with the crime and is believed to have escaped to Nigeria while His wife, Bidemi and brother in law, Adekunle Kayode Ayeni who was arrested a day after his 27th birthday are currently in the clink.
Africa-Online's correspondent was also informed that Abidemi, wife of the alleged leader of the gang had been deported several times to Nigeria only for her to resurfaced back in the states "she had been deported back to Nigeria not less than three times, how she managed to come back to US still beats everyone's imagination?" added a source who does not want to be named for fear of intimidation by the members of the gang who were believed to have vast network throughout the US, Europe and Africa.
Another source claimed that the leader of the gang, a five foot tall man with a rotund belly whose family is related to a monarchy in Lagos State has been contacting network of friends in US to get lawyers to effect the release of his wife and his foot soldiers .

According to the source, Delu was allegedly said to have shipped not less than 20 assorted cars monthly to Nigeria and was said to have boasted that he could afford expensive lawyers that would handle the case. According to a source who is closed to the gang, he was alleged to have informed his foot soldiers not to blow the whistle until he had got them a lawyer.
According to information obtained by the Secret Service, one of the charged individuals allegedly boasted that he would never get caught for his crimes because he was too good at "covering his tracks
Africa-Online's correspondent however gathered that there are other Nigerians still being sought in connection with fraud related crimes like, counterfeiting, credit card fraud and mail fraud among others, top among the suspects is a man believed to be a son of the special adviser to the former president of Nigeria on ecological matter whose father's house was allegedly being used for the criminal activities.
Most closed associates and friends of the gang members were said to be on the run following the breaking of the news of the arrest of eight members of the gang, others who were very closed to them are now living in fear as they were not sure of how extensive the investigation into the crime would go.
A mother of one of the suspect was said to have collapsed when news of the arrest of his son was broken to her.

Oyetoyin Atobatele has fleet of cars and has own plate numbers like Oseni 1 Oseni 2 Oseni 3 etc inscribed on them and is known to have own cloth line, he is currently a guest of the police at the Ramsey County jail, Minnesota.

Africa-Online's correspondent can authoritatively reveal that most of the family of the arrested Nigerians have had brushes with the law in the past. An impeccable source told NewsStar that the wife of Idowu Sadiq was arrested about seven years ago in New York while attempting to cash a stolen $100,000 cheque from an account that did not belong to her.



She was jailed and had to deliver her first child in the prison. She was believed to have relocated to Canada where she was said to be living under a different identity.
Africa-Online's correspondent was also informed that the half brother of Delu Fowoshere was allegedly being investigated for credit card related offense in Minnesota. He was said to have got the wind that he was being investigated before he escaped to Canada. He too is believed to be currently living in Canada under a different identity.
Most Nigerians living in Minneapolis and Saint Paul were said to have not been surprised by the arrest of these suspects as information available indicated that most of the suspects had no visible sources of livelihood but were always seen at parties spraying Dollars like seed.

The suspects if convicted could spend up to 30 years in jail as charges preferred them carry a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison.

The alleged big boss, Adelumola Bashiru Fowoshere has evaded the law for a long time, He was allegedly known to have fled from London to USA, now he has absconded to Nigeria,



Yewande Sholebo now on the run is alleged to have thrown a lavish Ankara Nite birthday party last month in Minneapolis
