“China and the United States should now strengthen cooperation in combating the COVID-19 epidemic in order to defeat the coronavirus as soon as possible, cure patients, resume production, and develop the economy,” the spokesman said.
Trump has repeatedly claimed, although with no evidence provided, that the virus that caused deaths, lockdowns, and economic standstill all around the world had in fact been developed in a lab in Wuhan, a Chinese city in the Hubei province from where the first reports of an abnormal respiratory disease came last December.
The U.S. president has threatened China with consequences if its responsibility for unleashing the virus gets proven.
Asked by the host on Thursday to comment on a statement by one of the U.S. senators that the U.S. could stop issuing visas to Chinese students in retaliation, Trump said that his country could possibly go as far as cutting all bilateral ties altogether.
China has so far consistently denied the accusations, stressing that its policies were transparent throughout the outbreak.

An ex-police officer, Femi John, who was recently rearrested by Police officers in Oyo State for impersonation, has revealed why he will never desist from impersonation. The ex-Police officer explained that illegal jobs was the only source of livelihood he used to fed himself, his wife, and children. Governor Willie Obiano has expressed dissatisfaction at the low level of compliance at Anambra Bridgehead boundary, Onitsha.
Governor Obiano made the expression when he paid a surprise visit to the bridge.
On arrival, there was a long queue of human and vehicular movement, most people, without face masks and unmindful of the social distance protocol.
The Governor who was visibly angry, directed the Police Commissioner to block the two ends, to reduce human and vehicular traffic.
The State Police Commissioner, Mr John Abang, Commissioner for Transport, Dr Christian Madubuko, and other members of the COVID-19 Committee, were also present.
Recall that during his last broadcast, Governor Obiano announced a shutdown of all boundaries in the State, with exception of essential service providers.

Enugu Church Building's Collapse Imminent As Flood Wreaks Havoc (Photos)
After ignoring the "Stop-work"/ “Remove” orders by the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA), structures on the premises of The Lord's Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement's headquarters in Enugu, have been badly damaged by flood, exposing the church building to imminent collapse, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV had reported that a section of Enugu residents living at the bank of Ekulu River, G.R.A, adjacent to the church, had raised the alarm over the imminent danger posed by the worship centre, which was built on the waterway on their property.
Inscriptions on the ongoing construction work at the church’s premises, show that the ECTDA had served “Stop-work” / “Remove” notices on the structures, but was completely ignored until the recent havoc which has wrecked the foundation of the church building.
Some residents of the neighborhood had lampooned those criticizing recent activities of the ECTDC, especially on social media, aimed at sanitizing and restoring Enugu City to its original master-plan. They noted that one of the grave consequences of such mischief against the development control agency is what the state is experiencing at the moment at The Lord’s Chosen worship centre in Enugu.

Igbere TV recalls that a three-story building under construction at Ezeluike Street, Olympic Layout, off One Day, Agbani Road, Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State, which was marked “Stop-work” by ECTDA recently collapsed after the contractor neglected government's order and continued work on the property.

The residents therefore charged the state government to enforce discipline and deal decisively with the alarming rate of illegal structures on waterways in the state, without fear or favour, in order to save lives and avert avoidable damage of people’s property by flood.
