Shameful Nigeria.
Complete and utter cesspit.
The president is dealing with the press, while the governors are learning.

OK.

I edited my post to include this btw;

I don't let emotions becloud my sense of judgement.

Case in point: Personally, I have never liked Buhari. Not then, not now, not ever. But I set all of that aside to campaign for him..

For me, one of such is his ability to calm fraying nerves.

His choice of words and the way he expresses himself shows that he is cerebral enough to understand the country's many issues and seek ways to correct them.

He's been interactive too. That's how you get into the people's head, understand their world and work on improving it.

For me, a man who is smart enough to understand that we are a people from different backgrounds but with so little that sets us apart, and so deserve to be treated as equals is enough.

That's because he's not had enough time to make his own impact.
I think you are naive.
The guy has been fortunate enough to have a sick president incapacitated which gave him an unusual amount of time as acting president.
And he has done a lot of movement, but nothing truely revolutionary or anything that stands out. Even as VP, he has had tremendous power. And as usual, most of the movement he did were for his people. And the only people that would disagree with my assessment are his people from the SW.
Given the way the guy campaigned himself hoarse during the elections with a lot of high sounding theories, i would expect more direct national changes.
I also find it funny that you claim to hate buhari and yet endorse osibanjo when he has not done anything special from what his oga has done.
Yes, he is more demurred, but that is looking to be a big deal because buhari is too brash and arrogant. Even jonathan was humble, but i don't rate my presidents on humility.
I can't honestly believe a Peter obi or an Utomi would not do much better even as Vice -president let alone acting president for such scale of time.

Nothing personal bro... And the man has done nothing worthy of praise as VP and Acting P. If you have any he has done please let me know
I am honestly waiting for someone to show me too.
For all the usual hype, he is just there.
I Can't forego an igbo presidency or vice-presidency because of a mediocre, when i can throw up atleast three igbo men and women that are undoubtedly better.
If he was a once in a generation president, i can understand risking stability and justice to perpetuate him as president. But osibanjo is not.

I'm from the middle belt, Plateau State, to be exact.

Yeah right. Just like omenka is from the middle-belt
Let me even take you on your own merit- What is osibanjo's achievement in power?
From your own assessement, is he the best the system can throw up?
I don't rate him at all. I am looking for someone to prove me wrong.
And that is besides the fact that as a yoruba, (for the sake of national stability which a lot of people seem to pray for), he has no business in power for the foreseeable future.

I admire your sense of patriotism.

But, you never liked Osinbajo. So your judgement is understandable from your own POV.

For me, however, we haven't seen enough of him to conclude that he's a bigot with pretensions to power.

The man may not even be interested to begin with.

Again, I respect him deep beyond politics.
Which part of Nigeria are you from? If you are yoruba, then sorry, your respect is as usual founded on watery bigotism. Most of you guys are the same people that claim that they would only vote for buhari if he chose a yoruba as his running mate now hiding under a charade of progressiveness.
What is osibanjo's achievement as Vice president and even the little time he was acting president?
The little time he has spent in charge, he has packed the whole terrain with his people. How he hope to sustain it is what i don't know.

It has begun.
The north gradually withdrawing themselves from the political legacy of nepotism that buhari entrenched leaving osibanjo to bear the mess.
I would like to see the miracle this guy will use to become president and where the votes will come from apart from the paltry ones from his region. It is not even politically tenable anyway.

So their supposed igbo blood has nothing to do with it. They did it because they have the talent and live in an environment that is devoid of ethnic bigotry that you are promoting.

I doubt if those girls would agreed to be called igbo-americans. Rather, they would prefer to be addressed as Americans.

I actually think they do identify with their igbo identity. Just like jidenna did

This is not an English section.. Let facts do the talking.... Since you asked for it, I will engage you was usual with facts..

With all you claim peter obi did for security, Anambra was the kidnapping capital of Nigeria until peter obi handed over. It took obiano less than 4 months to restore sanity to the state.. Upper iweka where criminals help sway was cleared and sanitized within 3 months (see the date on the picture below when obiano started working on security, mind you he took over march 2014)
The Vigilante were useless and had zero impact until operation kpochapu was launched.

Security
Workers welfare (increased teachers salaries by 15% on assumption)
Transportation (Launched Anambra mass transit scheme)
Infrastructure (over 5 solid bridges in less than 2 years)
Agriculture (very obvious)

Big lie.. Ngige left over 12 billion for peter obi, something he has never denied till date whereas he went out lying that he left 75 billion for obiano without any proof to back up his claim so where did the healthy and stable state come from?

Now tell what what remarkable thing peter obi achieved in 8 years! And not the usual nonsensical propaganda
You don't know the appropriate threads to pick your obiano-peter obi battles.
Be wise.

The average igbo man lives much better life than the average northerner. That is what matters. I don't give two hoots about corrupt elites who are less than 0.2%. You can't even properly eradicate polio.
We know our faults though. Thank you. But i think you will find that you have more serious problems in your own people to amend.

All of this yet you scream of marginalization at every turn? Yet you have the lowest chances in the civil service, military and political space? Yet you wield the weakest national influence among the big 3? What's more third class than that?

I'm not intending to make this about d1ck-measurement (your obvious pastime) but the fact remains that the Hausa/Fulani is ahead of your kin in commerce (Dangote, BUA, Dantata et al.), Aviation (Kabo, Chanchangi, Azman, Med-view et al), Political and Military dominance. If that is not success, tell me what is.

The undeniable fact is that your supposed strengths (which are actual weaknesses as Reno outlined) are what have subjugated you to the lowest rungs in national affairs and reduced you to the lowest echelon of Nigerian citizenship.
We scream marginalization because our numbers in the top echelons is mitigated by skewed and unmerited appointments by backward northern godfathers.
It dosen't mean we are not there, it means we are not progressing as fast as we should due to nepotism. We are everywhere and we got there on merit.
You mention igbo marginalization in army, navy or whatever, but that is not exclusive to the south-east. The military is dominated undeservingly if i may add by the north at the expense of the entire south. Infact there are probably more igbos in the military than the rest of the south or atleast one of the most represented. The past immediate COAS was an igbo man, but it dosen't take away the fact that we are under-represented in the military just like the rest of the south. The fact that we are the only ones with the sense and the voice to speak doesn't mean we have no presence in the top echelons.
Infact, the only place where you can say there is no igbo presence is the presidency. We have not gotten the presidency and i agree with on that as a form of marginalization, and also the fact that the fact the SE gets very little from the Nigerian state.
But that has only proven our genius to survive in harshest conditions.
You say you don't want to chest-beat and you are busy listing crappy airlines as achievements. I was expecting you to tell me your northern life-expectancy, or literacy rate, or poverty rate that is better than the average igbo man or igboland to justify your first class status.
I can as well start listing multi-national companies owned by various educated igbo men and women in virtually every sector of the economy.
If you are first class, then i really can't see it because It has not really helped you much. The north is poorer than the rest of Nigeria.
And the only unfortunate reason why you dominate our polity is because the south is filled with saboteurs and chameleons.

Doesn't change the fact that what you celebrate as strengths are actually what has made you 3rd class citizens in Nigeria, meaning you have failed to re-adapt your weaknesses.

Arrogance instead of Humility.
Impertinence instead of Diplomacy.
Pugnacity instead of Docility.
Lack of central leadership.
You believe in your own hype.
Third class citizens?. Yes, we want far better than we currently have, but sorry we are nowhere third class. It is an impossibility for an average igbo citizen to be third class in this country.
Our leaders may have been schemed out of power, but the igbo citizens are at the top level of every progressive aspect or sector of Nigeria.
Compare the average igbo citizen to the average fulani citizen, and the gap is a wide as the ocean in favour of the igbo citizen.
The igbo nation trumps the fulani in every socio-economic indices. We may not have a dangote, but we have far less group poverty and near insurmountable literacy gap.
When we talk of talk of third class citizen, learn to be specific. The average fulani citizen in the north is at the lowest echelon of Nigerian citizenship.
As true as your points may be in terms of how it has affected the igbo potential, i can't see any real example in other ethnic groups of their own outstanding success.
The north has a central leadership but that has resulted in the feudal system that has impoverished the vast majority. You have docile citizens in the north, but it has resulted in the growth of extreme backwardness because progress does not flow well with extreme docility.
Yes, we need to reform, but not in your way.

Reno is right on the money here.
When it comes to individual intelligence, we take the cake in this country. Our group intelligence though need a lot of work.
We need to shed the old pre-colonial individualism and forge a common national path where the main objective is the well-being of the majority. We need to be less selfish and put the need of the majority as the most important. We need to start developing a pan-igbo developmental outlook under a single igbo umbrella.
Until we reform, we will keep playing at the level of our intellectual inferiors or even losing to them, instead of rising above them by fulfilling our potential.
Right now, we are pushing far below our weight. Our collective weight is far far less than the sum of our individual weights right now..

How it concern these descendants of oduduwa, i will never know. Nigeria is not and has never been their estate or that of their forefathers.
Awolowo during his time had no influence beyond his South-western region and he himself was not very fond of Nigeria, so what is exactly is the problem of yoruba people with biafra.
Ingratitude of biafra? Really? For a people that lost over 2 million innocent civilians.
Is it not the Nigerian government that is supposed to be grateful that its most brilliant and industrious population density was not wiped out due to its own sheer stupidity.
