Have you gotten any business idea while reading this short piece? Let me know your thoughts using the comment section!!!
BusinessThe Lazy Way To Generate A Profitable Business Idea by VAPatrick(op):
I am very lazy, and so are millions of others out there. Disregard all you’ve been hearing about hard work and others, business is meant to be fun. Just try to quote Bill Gates, he said: “if I have hard work to do, I find a lazy staff and ask him to do it”. The reason is very simple, he will find a faster way to accomplish the task.

Do you want some business ideas? Let me show you how to generate some for yourself, instead of always asking people for ideas. This guide will show you how to generate ideas and identify profitable business opportunities.

If you accept that you are lazy, you will have the advantage of thinking just like many other lazy people out there. That way, you can easily create ideas that will solve problems for people out there.

A profitable business is a business that can solve problems – which makes people always wanting to patronize your business. Let me show you some steps on how to get business ideas for yourself.

For the avoidance of doubt, I have two businesses that generate more than 4 million Naira annually. So everything I write here is from a practical point of view.

How to generate a profitable business idea on your bed

Right on my bed, I was able to generate a business that would go on to give me the money I needed to kick start my life. Let me show you how I conceived the idea.

Think of problems you wish that others can solve for you

That is exactly how it starts from; if you want to start a business that would later become profitable. You will need to solve problems for people whether in the form of selling them products or services.

- Banks help you with financial transactions
- Your mechanic helps you by fixing your car
- Uber gives you a faster way to move around without stress and when you don’t have a car
- The caterer gives you the choice to get food in your house without the stress of cooking and eating outside
- MMM allowed you to make money without working for money

Do you think that the business ideas have already been all taken up? The answer is NO. Once you’ve identified a problem that you wish someone can solve for you, there are others who are also in your shoes.

It shows that others can also pay others to help them solve that problem. So write down all the ideas down on a piece of paper.

Choose variables and eliminate

Take your time and generate up to fifty ideas. If it isn’t up to fifty, then don’t stop generating. This exercise can take you up to a week to complete, but the deeper you go, the more wonderful ideas you can generate.

After you’ve generated up to fifty ideas, then it is time to start eliminating some of them.

Here are some factors to consider to eliminate non-important ones;

- Too much capital to start
- Excessive competition
- Good location to start
- Low target audience
- Complex distribution chain
- Little profit margin

I don’t think any business can be perfect when it comes to the criteria I listed above. But you have to make sure that the downside of your business idea won’t affect the business that much.

If I choose a business that requires a large number of rich people, I can decide to relocate for the sake of the business. So in reality, it doesn’t really affect my business that much.

But if you choose a business with the excessive competition just like the Uber and Taxify business, it will take me so much just to break into the market.

Know the bad side of the business and check if you can deal with it.

Anyone doing the business? Identify a gap and fill it

Most likely – unless you want to run a transport company to another planet, there is someone doing that business. But on a lighter note, there are businesses that are not being operated already that needs to be started.

I started one of them and I am reaping the benefits immensely. But if there is someone doing the business already, here are some ways to modify it and know if it will be profitable.

- Can you reduce the price and still make a profit?
- Are they everywhere or just targeted?
- Can you reach more people than your competitor?
- Are they marketing aggressively?
- How good are their product and service?
- Is their customer service delivery okay?

If you notice any lapses in the way your competitor runs their business – alongside other factors I listed in point number two, then that business looks promising.

“Indriver is allowing customers to determine how much they can pay when choosing a ride. A good way to fight the Uber and Taxify competition. How long can they survive?”

Listen to People’s demand

Monitor the customers in that business sector and listen to their demands. Just like Glo users keep complaining about their poor network, MTN users complain about the expensive data tariff. Also, 9mobile users complain about the data value gotten from 9mobile, and Airtel users wish they had better network coverage around Nigeria.

Likewise in other sectors, there are gaps that need to be filled without excess investment capital. Listen to the demands of customers in that sector, complains, and proffer a solution.

Chrisvicmall started importation from China after those in mini-importation business complained about the stress of importing from China. People are still complaining about the prices, which means that there is still a gap to be filled in that sector.

Run a prototype test and business launch

Before you finally go into the business, create a demo business product, advertise it, and check if anyone would pay you for that service/product.

This is a cost-effective way to start a business without much risk. Before I started my travel agency to Canada, I ran an advert on social media, asking people to process their Canadian visa through my agency.

The results I found were extremely awesome, so I opened up an office and started the business. That was how I knew that this business was a profitable one and people would pay to secure my services.

Before you start that business idea you’ve conceived, stylish introduce it to people and see their reaction. That would show you if it is actually a great one to start.

P.S. Helping people with visa to Australia is a booming business with less competition. You can start it ASAP.

Jobs/VacanciesHow To Get A Good Job In Nigeria – Key Factors To Consider by VAPatrick(op): 6:21am On Sep 09, 2019
You might have heard it before, but I want to repeat it again. To get a good job in Nigeria is harder than winning an Olympic gold medal in swimming against Michael Pheals as an amateur.

According to recent statistics, 80% of young graduates in Nigeria earn below 100,000 Naira, and that isn’t a good one – considering recent economic situations. While we debate about those who earn below 100k per month, we still have a unique set of people who don’t even have any source of monthly income.

What are those factors that might be against them – which they don’t have an idea about?

There are about 178.6 million people in Nigeria, and to get a good job isn’t something that just happens. To get a good job, you must know some certain factors you should use for your own good.

What are the top factors you should consider to get a good job in Nigeria?

Quality of your connection

I sincerely thought this wasn’t real till it happened to me. I gate-crashed a firm to submit my CV and I was stopped at the gate. All efforts begging proved abortive. A few days later, calls were made and I was back at the same company sitting with the Head of Human Resource with my CV in his office.

I wrote the same exam and interview like others, but I was the only person who got a letter of employment. Why? What happened? I just had the right connection.

The person who fixed me up was whom I saw at a wedding ceremony. A simple conversation of “what I had to offer was enough to gain me recommendation”

It isn’t okay to beg for a job; you must show them what you have to offer, and you see how they will recommend you to the right place. It is all about networking and meeting the right people. But you have to learn how to network like a professional.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE ABOVE FACTOR, THEN PLEASE CONSIDER THESE BELOW

Quality of your Resume/Cover letter

Since we all know that technology has taken over the way of recruitment these days, candidate’s CVs are shortlisted with the help of software. Several factors determine which CV is picked. That is why I hammer on the following things on every CV.

- Structure
- Keywords
- Format
- Accomplishments instead of descriptions

Having a good CV backed with a cover letter is one of the surest ways to gain recruiters attention. If you have a good CV, you may not need any connection to get your dream job. If you can’t write a power CV, it is imperative you meet a professional to help.

Location

Location plays a huge factor when searching for a job. Most states in Nigeria have very low openings, which limits the job vacancies posted from such states. It is imperative you migrate from such states to states with high job opportunities. Few states like Lagos, Ogun, Abuja, Porthacourt, Oyo, Anambra, Delta, and Kaduna state all have potentials when it comes to job vacancies.

Skills to Offer

It is saddening that most graduates don’t really know what they have to offer. They don’t have any area of specialty or any skill to offer. This possibly limits their chances to apply for jobs outside their background course at college.

Interview Skills

Excelling in an interview is an art you need to master. It is not just a question and answers series, it’s more psychological than you’ve ever imagined. When you answer interview questions, there are certain things that interviewers look, and they include;

- Dressing
- Confidence
- Work experience
- Communication Ability
- Remuneration scale

Scoring positive in all these takes you a step closer to securing the job role – all things remaining equal. There are several articles that have shown in details how to ace an interview easily, but you have to know that practice makes perfect in interview cases.

There are no laid down rules when it comes to securing a job, but in Nigeria, these are the major factors that influence getting a job. I will be sharing more of these articles in recent days, so do well to keep in touch.

See you at the top. I wish you success.

Whatever happened to the general buhari of the 83s(In 1983, when Chadian forces invaded Nigeria in the Borno State, Buhari used the forces under his command to chase them out of the country, crossing into Chadian territory in spite of an order given by President Shagari to withdraw. [37] This 1983 Chadian military affair led to more than 100 victims and "prisoners of war". [37])since AU and UN refused to condemn the action let's go into full war. Am a volunteer already send me to South Africa let's kill them all seeing my brothers getting killed bruised my heart
While on retirement course at NAFRC, Oshodi, a Staff Sergent who took part in the operation narrated the event to me. According to him, Buhari was one of the best commanders he worked with. Unfortunately, we have lost that Buhari to senility or whatever.

Celebrities like Justin Bieber (over 100 million twitter followers) and Rihanna (more than 92 million twitter followers) can advance their careers and gain even more notoriety with a 140 character long tweet. But can a job hunter with no followers actually use this site of very short messages to get a job? You bet.

Corporate recruiters and headhunters use Twitter to search for talent every day. They post information and links to current job openings. They search by topic to see who influences any given field, and then they try to recruit them. So much in the business, government, and nonprofit sectors depends on the effective use of social media, so hiring managers expect that well-qualified candidates will be active on sites like Twitter. It is becoming ever more likely that they will check out any serious candidate’s tweets to see if they “fill the bill.”

Keeping these recruiting tactics in mind, you can make Twitter an effective part of your job hunting strategy. You don’t need millions (or even thousands) of followers for it to be a useful arrow in your job-hunting quiver. Here’s how:

1. Utilize Twitter’s search function to find job openings. Familiarize yourself with how to use functions like AND, OR, and NOT (known as Boolean operators) to search effectively. Also make use of hash tags (the “#” symbol). They serve, in effect, as a topic header to make a tweet easy to find. Include things like: #hiring, #job, #jobs, #careers, and other related words in your search terms. Then add into your search mix your skills, job description, and location. Here are some simple sample search queries you can adapt to your own situation:

#jobs MA “senior project manager”

#career scientist

#hiring sales Lagos

In each of these cases, tweets from companies and recruiters appear in the results, with links back to more complete listings and job descriptions for which you can apply. You can also click on the poster’s name and follow that individual or company to see what else they have listed, and keep a look out for what else they post in the future that might be relevant to you.

2. Follow leaders and keep lists. Unlike LinkedIn where both parties have to agree to be connected, on Twitter you can follow anyone you want without their permission. (They can choose to block you, but unless you are abusive or there are other specific reasons, this isn’t likely.) Search for key leaders in your field and companies you admire/want to work with, and begin to follow them. Use Twitter’s list building function to name and create your own lists of companies, individuals, recruiters, and so forth. Then you can simply call up any of your saved lists to see the whole stream of tweets from everyone in that list. This strategy can help to keep you up to date with most recent articles of interest, learn who is doing what, and much more.

3. Put yourself “out there”—carefully. Post tweets about your accomplishments, things you would like to learn about, and things that would be of interest to others in your field. Tweet about a networking event you are planning to attend, retweet (RT) articles that you find interesting from around the Web, and be a source of information for those who will begin to follow you. By showing that you keep up to date with what’s going on in your field, and by being helpful to others, you add to the value of your personal brand and bring notice to yourself.

Remember, however, that once you put something online, it is always there. It is important to keep your brand free from controversial topics. You never know the political inclinations, religious background, or other sensitivities of someone who might come upon your tweets. Use this as a rule of thumb: If you wouldn’t say something at a job interview, or to your mother—then don’t post it on Twitter.

There are numerous other ways to use Twitter in your job hunt, but these three will get you off to a great start. Once you begin, you’ll be amazed at how much information you can compact into 140 characters.
