Liverpool had to beat Porto as that game was home. That is where you sink your teeth. That is the game they must prioritise. If Pep was home, he would have done same. He was not. He looked at his fixtures and felt, with this line up, I still think I can get a good result. That is all he tried to do. As he lost by 1-0 did he lose points to Liverpool? No. As he lost is the tie effectively over? Only a fool will say so. His gamble did not exactly pay off but it did not entirely fail. Tottenham have lost Harry Kane yet they are chasing top 4.
