i know the embassy very well, it is very close to the French residence , ANOTHER beautiful area. Accra version of Victoria island in lagos.

i wonder if 1 billion dollar is spent on any embassy built by American on any African soil apart from Ghana.

Okay that may explain it - Nigerians are using Ghana to make fraudulent applications - because they are no longer eligible for green card. I think Ghana need to really work on that - you cannot be happy to have 2.3M application (assume each applicant has a family of 2 or 3) - that is huge number of Ghanian expressing their lack of confidence in the future of Ghana. The future that appears to me to be bright and really hopeful. As for UK - all commonwealth countries - of course consider UK - their second home - just like France is for the francophone. Even the great german and british want to emigrate to america. American has a splendour not find in any part of the world. These are some of the few reasons while any national we want to migrate to the USA .

1 They are more diverse and multicultural, so that an immigrant has a better chance of being truly accepted as belonging to the nation.

2 They have more opportunities in some industries.
For a privileged person, the “American Dream” of living in a big house and being able to afford material luxury is best pursued in America. (Not so for the less privileged, but if you actually have a choice of immigrating to either the US or Germany, you’re probably pretty privileged.)



just check the number of cars used by averaged American. and compare it to the rest of the world. who will not be willing to migrate there.

They had really good education in 60s-80s - and when the military took over - that naturally altered the equation - the bright folks bolted out - a few attempted to return - and they found the situation even worse - and many now leave never to comeback. That brain drain, the militarization of politics and tribal-religious divide makes their politics dysfunctional.

But I still think that is MAIN bottleneck is oil. The Nigerian government in all levels is assured and comfortable with oil money - it doesn't bother to do anything serious.

When oil prices collapse - they get a little serious like now - and start thinking diversification - but if oil rises again to 140 dollars a barrel - all that is forgotten - and binge spending starts.

Nigeria need to diversify it's economy. Gov need to rebuild the collapse infrastructure(water,electricity, roads, railways and ports), they need to invest in education esp in Northern Nigeria and need to improve the ease of doing business - both at micro and macro- level.

Kenya is very corrupt but our corruption is not debilitating. Kenya ease of doing business is now 3rd best in Africa - and we rank with Nigeria in corruption - gov knows its get it's money (taxes) from the private sector - so they make sure the private sector is happy - it's their oil well.

Nigeria political class doesn't care about anything except the oil price or anybody standing btw Nigeria crude oil and Shells of this world who need to ship and sell it.

oil is a blessing to Nigeria. It just happens that those who have been entrusted with managing the oil have done a very terrible job and have not shown so much accountability for the stewardship bestowed on them.

The illiterate mofo elected neglect other areas of the economy and placed too much emphasis on oil and that has put the nation in a mess. if oil can change the face value of dubai and gelp qatar achieved what sge has today. what is stopping Nigeria?

The reasons are simple, "'illiteracy."" the illiterate have taken control of a resource that is supposed to be for the development of the whole nation and built wealth for themselves and for their children.

Until Nigeria get it right and redistribute the proceeds from her oil the way it should be, just like how abu dabi did to help dubai. Nigeria we still be in a mess.

That is good. American embassey in Ghana has a good masterpiece and a very nice layout.

No Nigeria airport can accomodate Airbus A380 unless plans are made for them, connecting aiport to metro line is not a prerequisite to have a standard airport. what are practically needed is, an economy of space, without seeming cramped. the one that will not allow passemger to walk more than they have to, but don't squeeze them either. This means good layout, easy to navigate, which shouold be accessible in and out of the airport quickly..

That is what kotoka have that none of the nigeria aiport have and in addition to that, it has a good architectural design that beat all the four Nigeria airport.

Northern Nigeria is a region that contradicts its natural endowments. Despite the existence of many economic resources such as tin, kaolin, a variety of agricultural products and a huge fertile land, the people remain in abject poverty leading the whole other regions. the land is fertlile but not all crops can sustain from the North.

I think we are talking the same thing.I meant an airbus 380 can land in most international airports.And I agree you will restrict some of her movements in some airports that is due to a huge wingspans.And in some airports you won't have a suitable jetty bridges for 380's.

And i am you telling kotoka accommodate it without any of the choices i made mention above.
