ednited:Yes That is to show how despirate Nigeria politicians are. they also share free money |
ednited:it seems you are not getting it. The rice are not giving out at low price, the rice are giving out freely without a penny. |
ednited:The only time i read about Ghana on the global news. is . when CNN Travel listed 19 places to visit in the year 2019. in the world, and Ghana was placed ahead of some European country. i think such news is powerful and healthy for the country. progress |
ednited:Most Nigerian politicians are neither creative nor ingenious. Because they are not imaginative, there is no originality of thought, which explains why they are very predictable. same process of campaigning every four-four year. dashing free rice, spreading money recklessly just to woo voters. Speaking of rulers, I haven't heard any about your government. I think it's democratic. But as government, what do you think your ruler better acheive or improve in Ghana??Ghana power rested in its democratic governance. Most African countries seek for Ghanaian election observers during their elections. And the electoral commission of Ghana is probably the most powerful election body in Africa. i still believe much works are still needed to make it at per with first class world. . Ghana still face the same problem that all africans country face, unemployment, healthcare system , inequalities etc. i believe goverment should focus more on this though she has provem to be better than some of her peers in her region. |
ELection no be war US tells Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari’s party has issued a stern warning to the United States and other foreign allies for allegedly making “unguarded” public statements ahead of Nigeria’s presidential polls this weekend. The US, Britain and the European Union have in recent weeks publicly warned against vote-rigging and election violence, and also expressed concern over President Muhammadu Buhari’s suspension of Nigeria’s top judge last month. ‘‘Nigerian security services must provide a safe and secure environment for the Nigerian people to exercise their rights," read part of a statement issued by the US State Department last week. ‘‘Those who interfere in the electoral process or incite violence must be held to account." Nigerian police said five people, all supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress party (APC), were killed during clashes with opposition supporters on Sunday. Saturday’s election will see Buhari stand for a second four-year term against former vice-president Atiku Abubakar in what is expected to be a close race. APC disappointed in foreign allies Buhari’s re-election campaign spokesman Festus Keyamo called the statements from the US and others “notably off-key” and unwelcome. “Instead of encouraging our country toward credible elections, such statements undermine public confidence,” Keyamo said. “It would appear that these envoys seem to have discredited the election before it has even taken place.” Keyamo’s comments come after a key Buhari ally, Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai, said outsiders who intervened in the election “will go back in body bags”. Mounting tensions Nigeria’s last election in 2015 was considered free and fair, but state and local elections, as well as earlier presidential polls, have been marred by violence and fraud allegations. In recent weeks, tensions have risen between Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) and Abubakar’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The PDP has accused the government of seeking to rig the vote while the APC has said the opposition party is fomenting unrest. Compared to 2015, international interest in Nigeria’s election has been muted as the US administration focuses on domestic issues and Britain wrestles with its impending exit from the EU. A British colony until 1960, Nigeria is an ally of both countries which are home to large Nigerian diaspora communities. http://africanews.com/ |
ednited:That is the way politics is played in Nigeria. dashing out some cups of rice or physical cash to woo voters instead of manifestos and accountability. |

edon21:The 30 seats was given as a result of her population. Goodluck under the watch of ecowas will not be too stupppid to resist. .Nigeria millitary must obey ecowas protocol which he is a signatory. and being a democratic state, goodluck will automatically loose national influence. Thankfully, majority of the generals are not in his support then. it will be a big disgrace if he failed to handover.it will be much more worst than gaddafi Ecowas millitary in combine can put pressure on Nigeria millitary. as well. Even bokoharam case alone is bigger than a Nigerian issue. It has crossed borders into other state like cameroon which is not part of ecowas.making it difficult for ecowas to penetrate. |
edon21:i told you that i read and infer from different book . i just don't sit down and swallow everything an author wrote. Hope those not materialized without hard work and persistence |
edon21:That dream is also applicable with every country particularly the one that respect the rules of law. i am afraid country that lacks this has a long ladder to climb. i am giving you empirical answer here , i don't just feed on books. i compare and contrast. |
edon21:one of Ghana senior lawyer was the chief judge of Gambia for a particular number of years under yayi jameh. Ghana has once open its borders for refugees from liberia, Ivory coast and Togo, something few African countries have been able to do. Ghana mediated in Gambia election disputes, it is currently mediating in Togo election dispute and ex prez Mahama was part of the delegates that talked to former prez of Nigeria to step down peacefully. i mean goodluck. Ghana has troops in Ecomog,AU and UN, and they are one of the best with no negative attitude such as sex abuse etc unlike peace keepers troops from Nigeria etc. |
edon21:i for instance we never undermine the influence of Nigeria thru his cuilture and lifestyle. Nigeria got the population to do so. it is quite unfortunate that those trying to downplay Ghana’s prowess on the continent are uneducated Nigerians. To them, all what matters is land size and country’s population. As if they are better than Mauritania, Cape Verde, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, UK, France, Canada and what have you. |
tylann:They are big ones too. we find the picture of them later |
edon21:once again, no country is powerful enough to influence another country in Africa. China,US,France,Britain are powerful in Africa, they are the the only country influencing economies amd governance of africa through the use of Neo-colonialism and neo-colonial institutions |
tylann:i think we need to understand they are animal and be mindful the way we play with them. |
edon21:Physically, no African Country has power over another, and no African country can put political pressure on another.None is powerful than the other in terms of influencing policies of another. economically. China is the only country that fit this position but unfortunately it is not located in africa but going by the world prosperity ranking. i am afraid , only bostwana is ahead of GHANA in Africa. http://www.prosperity.com/rankings
