The very thing that makes Nigeria giant of Africa is just the size and population, to some extent, it's influence in Africa. The economic and military strength is not to be left aside, Nigeria played the most role for the liberation of most African countries from the shackles of imperialism and colonialism, it also helped to restore relative peace in most of these countries, this is what earned her the tittle from the British government and the world beyond.

Take a look at ECOWAS for instance, imagine if it would had/have or still exist without Nigeria, 60% of the resources used to run the organization is provided by the Nigerian government, but would you all see this?
