popizaino: I don't even know how to begin address this your post. Accra is called a village from most random observers not just Nigerians has you implied. It is called a village not just because of lack of skyscrapers but other factors. Like having too many expanse of land in between buildings in your CBD. Buildings in CBD whether skyscrapers or not are mostly compacted showing you the value of lands. It is in villages were lands aren't at premium value you can have one building and hectares of lamd around it before the next building. And yes of course dwarf can be beautiful, if it isn't juxtaposed with slums like Ghana. Lastly stop giving the earthquake excuse for lack of skyscrapers in Accra. They are moderate heights buildings like you have in elsewhere if well arranged can be a good substitute for lack of skyscrapers.
I must confess you lack what a mega metropolis should be . The need for high rise building is based on population expansion , Accra just the size of lagos state is having a population that is not even up to one / fourth of lagos population and you are demanding for high rise building as if it is the only yardstick for development success .
You forget the main project that are even way more expensive to build , the likes of fly over , the mega city round about , expansion of large roads etc. All this alone should tell you only lagos can compare Accra in the whole Nigeria when it comes to this very basic factor.
GHANA new bank with 26 floors is about 250 million dollars more expensive than many Fourty floors elsewhere . It is not by height but other basic factors when you look deeper.
This is an height been built in accra that was abandoned for not following the basic guidelines of Accra . You can just built in accra , you built with permission , we don't want to have houses that falls within a short time like lagos .
ProblemChild1: You ghanaians don't have common shame. Ghana should be the most developed country in Africa with her small landmass, Gold, cocoa, oil and gas. But look at Ghana today. A complete shithole. Accra is not even fit to call a city sef.
Ghana does not have a small land mass. GHANA is bigger than south east and south west Nigeria combined together . You will need to learn more on geography.
Natural resources don't developed a nation of so Nigeria should be africa super power ,just Behind Congo
forgiveness: Congratulations on your first skyscraper in the whole of Ghana.
vitiago in same Accra already exist with more floors than this one . I do not see Accra having more skyscraper. The law works here. The highest we can have is 30 floors and that must be govt project or else it will not see any approval .
GeneralDae: He's going to mention Kwahu Hotel, which in my opinion looks like just a cluster of buildings in a secluded village which was made a single Hotel. Should have been an Estate from my view.
But when you mention Hotels we know, then of course Transcorp Hilton takes the cake.
Accra has hotel that can matched transcorp and even over. We have mariote hotel and kempinski
vankelvin: When completed it will be the largest Central Bank Headoffice in West Africa 💪
Ghana is gradually positioning itself as the Top tier country in West Africa.
In West Africa -We have the biggest Universities (in terms of Infrastructure) -The largest Malls -Biggest hotel -Largest Hospitals -Largest Interchanges -Superior Presidential palace -Largest Electric dam/ highest electric supply -Top Tier Airport -Top Tier Sea Port -Best Internet -Fastest fixed broadband -Best democracy -Second most peaceful and hospitable -Good security -Best Schools -Most business friendly environment and many more
Accra isn't the commercial capital for africa by mouth only .
Best universities in Africa. GHANA again in the top 7 . Only south africa leads
popizaino: Dwarf buildings, single dwelling homes 🏡 is what i referred to as 3m buildings. The fact that most people look at it from far and conclude it's a village is a tastement to my last sentence.
apparently those calling Accra a village are nigerians who mostly lives in slum and darkness . This isn't sound you yourself who has spend considerable time in Ghana knows unless you want to denied it.
Accra being the capital City is prone to earthquake more than any city right here in west africa submitting to such idea of having Accra full of skyscraper is not going to work . And who told you dawf city aren't beautiful . Most of European City are dwarf .
popizaino: Whatever.IMO, I just feel the government should start approving the building of more physically imposing structures that befits her status as a city and not all this 3m buildings everywhere. When Accra is placed side by side with other city,it always comes short and the reason is simple.
what is 3m building ? I don't get it . Can you explain further .
ProblemChild1: Oboy forget that thing. Accra can never beat Abuja when it comes to real estate. Stop talking nonsense. Not even Lagos sef can beat Abuja. Did you know the amount of real estate that is booming in Abuja. Go and verify well.
You aren't intelligent to engaged .Go face your study. I choose who to broadcast with..
Information are available online yet you choose to be stupid.
popizaino: Ghana 🇬🇭 be doing everything right except building a proper city. This is Ghana produce in the USA. Most produce sold in African stores in the West comes from Ghana 🇬🇭 💪.
Accra has one of the most lucrative real estate market in africa . So what do you mean by proper city?
In terms of ranking, Accra real estate market is more valuable than Abuja. Only lagos leads her in Nigeria .
vankelvin: So far what Port Harcourt can boast of are Population, size of the city economy and land size. All other salient areas Kumasi wins hands down
Already you have a knock out . Since they failed to used the internet. You can keep letting them know giant of africa has been introduced to electricity for the past 126 years and yet a city called Kumasi still experience more light presence than them. Nigeria since 1896 una still never get light
samorobo: Dude it’s getting stale discussing this with you. You live in Ghana,so I understand. Matters like this are beyond the pay grade of every Ghanaian citizen.
