Abeg bros in the house, kindly was there TBill offer for last week and what was the rate? My bank just sent me a notification to that effect but I can't seem to get news of Tbill activity or the rate for last week anywhere.

Na wa ooo!! Following the NTB trend lately is now a roller coaster and becoming misleading. I was not even greedy but simply bidded as per the old rate and I had hoped the coming rates would be a parting gift. Mischew!!

Pls who has the rate for the last treasury bill auction and when is the next?

Quick question; has there ever been an unplanned auction and why the secrecy by the CBN. And who kindly knows when the next primary auction would be?

Nigeria central bank springs unscheduled T-bill auction as naira weakens

LAGOS, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Nigeria’s central bank offered 100 billion naira ($326 mln) of treasury bills on Wednesday, in its first such auction since mid-July as it seeks to boost dollar liquidity in the currency market after the naira fell, traders said.

The OMO bills were offered in maturities of three, six and 12 months and result are due later in the day, they said.

“It is a surprise auction. I don’t know why they are floating it without prior announcement,” one trader said. “This one-off might not help dollar liquidity unless they become consistent in the offering.”

Pressure has been building on the naira as oil prices drop and foreign investors book profits on local bonds in response to falling yields.

At the central bank’s last, 75 billion naira T-bill auction on July 18, one-year paper was sold at 12.25% compared with as high as 18% a year ago.

Forex trading was thin on Wednesday. The naira was quoted at 363.50 per dollar on Monday and Tuesday compared with 362.50 at the end of last week as foreign investors repatriated funds, they said.

The bank was conducting regular weekly OMO auctions until July, when it switched focus to trying to boost economic output following recession by telling banks to lend more or face a rise in minimum reserve requirements.

Nigeria operates a multiple exchange rate regime which it has used to manage pressure on the currency. The official rate of 306.90 is supported by the central bank but the traded rate of 363.50 is the one widely quoted by foreign investors and exporters.

Good evening all, just a clarity pls; if a 364 days tenor is say 18% and another for 300 days is also 18%, what is the difference? Or are you still getting the full 18% even for a shorter period?

FBNH portal sent mr a message 3 days prior that mine would mature on 29th June. And on 29th June by 10am my account was credited. This was thursday last week. So i figure Thursdays are the days because i hv gotten another message informing me that another one will mature on the 6th this week. And when i checked it is again Thursday!

Pls if I may: what will be the tenor for a NTB bought in February for 180 days? Also if the maturity falls during the weekend does the bank credit you or wait till week days?

Finally they have sense! Imagine a Gov that collects such allocations and act as if the Federal gave him nothing.

I am not moved a bit by his unsubstantiated rhetoric. This is d same guy that hid under the BBOG banner 2 get elected & subsequently showed his true self.
