When I saw you viewing this topic today, I noticed that you've replaced several of your previous posts with ".." . You know, your original posts remain preserved in their entirety in my replies to you; and in any case, all the details of your previous applications are recorded in our computer systems, so cleaning up Nairaland will likely not make a difference.

Apologies to the rest of our readers here -- I don't mean to sound grouchy -- just a reminder that we do keep records, and that the truth is always best. smiley
Hi VO,
Are you saying that the embassy or consulate indites people or can deny people visa based on what they post or the questions they ask on Nairaland? This your post got me wondering.

Hi VO,
Thanks for your previous responses to my questions.I really appreciate. My petition at d USCIS got approved rather too early. From the look of things,i am likely to get an interview date by february. So my question is,if i get an interview date in February 2016,can i ask to be rescheduled in July or August 2016 since i am not ready to join my husband till December 2016 given that i have to complete my M.Sc and resign properly from work?

Hi VO,
Assuming a CR-1 visa expires on the 10th of september, and the immigrant intends leaving for the U.S in December,is there any provision to reprint the visa before it expires so as to extend it's validity to December?

Well, it certainly isn't very nice of your sister (no offense). But we're not law enforcement agents; we don't have the power ourselves to prosecute a Nigerian citizen for committing a crime in Nigeria. Perhaps your mother would want to inform Nigerian law enforcement (or at least remind your sister that that's a possibility)? And your mother is free to apply for a new visa, of course.

May I ask what your sister did with your mother's visa? We would really, really like to cancel the visa so it can't be misused by nefarious persons, please.
THANKS for the reply. She just kept it with her while she has been traveling to the U.S with hers(sister's).Seriously i don't know why she is this mean.Even if we go to a law enforcement agent,we have no evidence to prove our case.So i was thinking ur office can cancel or atleast prevent my sister from traveling to the states until she gives my mum her passports.

Hi VO,
My sister n my mum were granted visas i 2013.Upon collection of the passports,my sister lied to my mum that her's(mum's) visa was denied. She also refused to give my mum her passports till now.I recently found out that my mum was granted a visa because she confided in a close friend who in turn told me.My question is this,is there anyway ur office can come into this case to get my mum her visa by summoning my sister? Is it a crime for someone to seize someone else's visa?

I am a lecturer.Yes u have time in lecturing,bt to grow in that career,u have to be ready to be resourceful in terms of research as well as bury urself in books.I must tell u,lecturing is not easy especially when u want to be visible to d world. If u can make d decision to be an erudite reseacher,i will advice u to tk d lecturing job cos down d road,u will get research grants worth millions of naira and it will also give u d opportunity to travel round d world to present ur papers. It also has job security. On d contrary,if u r nt d book type,i will advice u to go for d banking job and face d job insecurity there.D ball is in court. We r d decisions we mk.

It all sounds good! Feel free to bring in a few chats that span the whole relationship, so the officer can see that you have evidence that covers the entire time span.

I know that you would never do this, but I want to take this opportunity to ask a favor of everyone: Please, no explicit / adult e-mails or photos (if you know what I mean and I think you do). I know when I come across a very dirty e-mail or photo, it makes me not want to look at any of the rest of the evidence submitted, just in case anything else pops up that might burn my innocent eyes and fingers. smiley Also, that stuff does not make us think it's definitely a real relationship; it kinda makes us think people are trying way too hard. Just saying. Thanks.
Hi VO,
This info came rather too late for me.I wish i saw this before we submitted our petition.Anyways, since we are all adults,a rather specific example will help other people on here. But please, will a picture of u may kiss the bride at the registry burn your innocent eyes and fingers smiley as i included those in my package? This really got me worried when i read your post. Please i'm expecting response from u as regards this.Thanks.

In addition to those documents you mention you also need to add your marriage certificate, leave letter, bank statement, payslips(6months), evidence of accommodation in Canada or IV. If you have property, car or any other investment in Nigeria you can add that.

It will help your application if you mention the pending US immigration application hence the choice of Canada for the holiday while you wait for the outcome
Thanks Dearie.God bless u.

Why not just go to the states ? Your story doesn't add up. Why not wait.to be heard from US immigration ?
I've noticed d way u answer people's question here and permit me to term u ignorant and arrogant. If u must know, some people can't stay a whole year without seeing their spouse. My husband n I make sure we see yearly pending when my immigrant visa clicks. If u must also know,it is very hard to get a U.S non-immigrant visa when u have a pending immigrant visa application cos the VO assumes u might end up nt using d non-immigrant visa for its purpose. So my advice for u is that b4 u say people's story don't add up,try and use ur brain and atleast think a little. That's if u've got brains. And please I don't need u to comment on my post cos I don't like ur arrogance.

Hmm... since it's a question of receiving mail, I'd vote for using your mailing address, and then explaining to the Consular officer at the time of your interview that you actually reside elsewhere but can't receive mail there. It'll make sense to us.

We use phone and e-mail to contact people whenever possible, for this very reason.
Hi Vo,
Thank u for the info on your means of contacting people. Please I also want to know if the NVC contacts people through phone and email or through physical posts(post mails)? Please answer to this will help me know the address to use?I'm sorry for my numerous questions,I just wanna make sure I'm doing things right.

Hi VO,
Hope u r doing great? My mailing address is different from my residential address. And I can't receive mails in my residential address because it is very difficult to locate. But on I-130,they asked for only residential address. I'm afraid if I put only my residential address,I might lose some important mails from NVC and the consulate in future. So please advise me on what to do. Should I use my mailing address since it is the easiest way to contact me?Thanks.

You should use your legal name, whatever that is -- but your visa will match the name on your passport.

Nairaland is one of my favorite things! My tour in Nigeria is actually getting close to its end sad and I'm trying not to think about it because I'm really, really, really going to miss Nairaland and all things Naija.
Hi VO,
U can't possibly leave us now that am about to start my own visa journey.Who will answer my questions calmly and patiently.Maybe I should start asking all my questions now. My passport is still in my maiden name.In filling out the form I-130,should I use my husbands name or my maiden since I've not legally adopted
my husband name and since my passport is still in my maiden name? Thanks in anticipation of ur reply.

My amiable Vo,
I have yet another question.
Assuming i received a CR1 visa when our marriage was just a year and seven months, and i entered U.S four months later(that is,when our marriage clocked 2years and one month),will i be issued a the 2years conditional green card or the 10 year green card?
Thanks in anticipation of your response.
