Please house, I have a question. I request your kind response. Constructive criticism is fine but no insult pls. My marriage has been scheduled to hold in July with my GAAYY partner in Germany. I know I can't go around talking about this so I don't get arrested or jailed according to the Nigerian SSMPA (Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act) enacted in 2014. I know its crazy to do this but that's what's up for now. My fiancé is a full blooded GERMAN CITIZEN with good job, has a house and all.. we are super cool with each other so well.

My question is this..
My VISA appointment is in a few weeks time, will I also pay for verification of documents after all has been verified already by the Marriage Registry in Germany and approved with our wedding date fixed?

2. What is my chance for GERMAN A1 to be waived cos I really wish to leave as soon as I can cos of the threat I get due to the fact that I'm gaaayy.. I can study the language when I get to German but for now my fiancé wants me to come over as soon as possible. All documents have been translated to German, I am all good to go except language proficiency cert.

3. What documents are my expected to come along with?

4. Does anyone have an idea of the exact amount the visa cost now since $1 is now about N1,600 now.

If you booked within 25th-30th July 2022, you’ll most likely get your appointment mail in about two weeks. They’ve started giving emails to July applicants.
Your interview should be like last week of October or first week of November.
The timeline has truly increased.



Hello, do we have July 2022 applicants here that has received appointment dates?

I need to know where I stand I applied around the last week of July 2022, nothing yet.

Just to add, last month we co tacted the embassy and they said waiting time is now over 1yr 6months as against the initial over 1yr they claimed. I hope this statement from them is just to make me get my mind off it, it's been 1yr 2months since application today.

Thanks everyone for your concerns,we are all in this together. I see us as a small family. At exactly 7months after my visa interview, the lawyer called,Since I am in a different city from my parents and where all my school and other documents were to be verified,he saw me first as he also needed to verify with my employer before proceeding to see my parent and also to verify my documents which are in the same state as my parents. I am so happy, atleast one step forward. Now it's to wait for verification complete email then send your passport and travel date email,I can't wait.

Good evening everyone.

My mom booked for the family reunion visa for my sisters on the 5th of May, 2022. We didn't hear back from the embassy besides the confirmation and she emailed them on the 4th of June this year to inquire about the delay and they sent their automatic response that the waiting time is more than a year but gave them a date 2 days later. The appointment was set for 6th of July and we went for it but weren't allowed in because it was my grandmother who took them there and the power of attorney was scanned and printed instead of the original. We emailed them that same day and they told us to reapply for the girls and send the new reference numbers. We did so on the 7th of July but haven't heard back from them since then.

Would it be wise to send a new email now or give them more time? Does anyone know anything about this?

Good morning all, I am happy to say that my wife has finally gotten the long awaited appointment for family reunion visa interview. We applied on the 6th of June 2022 and got the appointment mail on July 21st, 2023. That's roughly 13 months and a couple of weeks. This might be helpful to other persons on the waiting list. I hope this helps.....fingers crossed.

How long/ sure is it for a family reunion visa Remonstration to be approved? It's been 5 months since we applied for a Remonstration at the German Consulate following a rejection letter. They have acknowledged the receipt of the Remonstration letter but since then we haven't heard anything from them or ABH.
Is it wise to send emails or contact the Consulate or ABH?
Please, a good advice will be appreciated.

It isn't really easy at all. Try to facetime everyday mostly in the evening when your spouse is home. You can face time when he/she cooks,eats or even when ironing. Your spouse can take you on a walk and show you the environs in the evening on a weekend. Never allow a day pass without face timing. There should be no gap in communication at all no matter how short the discussion/time frame is. It hasn't been easy either. I am mentally stressed and frustrated over the long wait but what to do? 😒 Especially when it seems all January
