Lolllllllll have been investing in stocks since 2006, very obvious here most don't know how money can work for them they just work for money. I will never leave a dime in my account not working. I collected 1.4m from UBA as dividend not long. Very good to safe and best to invest the saved money. If I can work hard in Canada and safe like 150k in 5yrs then put the money in Zenith bank share then I will be earning around 10m yearly in dividend that is around 20k$ don't just work for money let money work for you in return. Most people abroad will work longer than expected for money that is the fact.

How does this work?

Good morning everyone! I was looking up courses on University of Wolverhampton and the fee for my course is 16k. They also stated they have 10k scholarships.

I'd like to ask, can this scholarship be gotten before I pay the school fees or after paying some of the school fees? I need ways on how to know I'll qualify for this scholarship.

While school recommendations are cool, you won't go wrong if you do the work yourself. I mean, SPREAD your wings. You already know you are limited in choices hence you'll have to be more EXTRA.

There are over 100 Universities in the UK and You can apply even for Free (No Application Fee). You didn't even disclose your Undergraduate Course.

You'll definitely get in if you have good work experience (maybe 5 years). There are other factors like Tuition and location to consider (Please avoid Pre-Masters / Top Up).

and before anything, DO YOU HAVE AT LEAST 7K - 10K Pounds Ready?

I am confident your two names should be enough so long they are in the same order: first and last/surname. The US is mostly concerned with First and Last names.

1. You were not forced at 100 level to use your middle name " Ama' because you cannot be forced to do so.

2. You added the name yourself when you saw your mates with middle names during registration and as a happy-trigger teenager you then thought "okay let me add my own in order to feel among "

3. OR, You added middle name when filling your JAMB (UTME) and every other of your records all through 100 level to your NYSC certificate must follow same names.

4. Anyways, You do not have a choice than to keep using Chukwuemeka Chisom Ama for your Msc, Phd or future academics or jobs applications because your final Bsc, Transcripts and perhaps NYSC certificates came out on that name.

5. Its not a much trouble. Court affidavit can align your academic credential names to tallies with your NIN, BVN, Travel P, and WAEC. This scenario is common with married women.


PS: In sense 1 above. If your name is Mary Jane then no organization or institution or entity can force you to bear a middle name which you do not have. Millions of people or families does not have or use middle names.

Haha, why would I lie on an anonymous forum? I intentionally maintained 2 names all my life before uni. I didn't want to go through what I've seen many others go through when it comes to issues with names.

My course adviser made sure I included my middle name before submitting documents to her in my 100 leave 1st semester. I disagreed at first but she was serious about it. It's lame to be pressured by my peers, I've never lived that life or tried to belong.

Hello everyone. I'd like to ask a question. For example, on my international passport, NIN and BVN, the names listed are Chukwuemeka(Surname) Chisom(First Name).

On my FSLC, WAEC, JAMB, I've always maintained the same name, Chukwuemeka Chisom.

I planned to maintain the same name in Uni but I was forced in my 100 level to use my middle name Ama. On my transcript and Uni certificate, my names are Chukwuemeka Chisom Ama.

Will this be an issue when applying for masters if I end up using either Chukwuemeka Chisom or Chukwuemeka Chisom Ama?

Yes, you can have more than one visa type at a time. Your F-1 approval may depend on how long you spent in your previous travel with the B visa and the length of time between when you came back and when your F-1 interview is scheduled. They'd usually want you to spend some significant amount of time in your home country upon return from your trip, as a sign of "home ties".



No, your having a valid B visa does not affect your ability to see earlier F1 dates, neither does it prevent you from obtaining an F-1 visa, so long you qualify. It is a common problem for many applicants at the moment who are able to see December dates but can't see the newly released July dates for both Lagos Consulate and Abuja Embassy. It also affects you if you're applying for the second time. Perhaps they may eventually open up dates for everyone else.

If you have a GTA/ RA, a simple response like, I have a GA that covers 90% of my tuition with a stipend of x amount of dollars and my uncle/aunty/ mum/ dad/ husband will be covering the deficit.

There was a time late last year and early this year applicants weren’t allowed to go in with their bank statements. The officers who were checking applicants documents were the one stopping people from going in with their SOA. I had 3 friends who experienced that. I don’t know why they did that because it hasn’t been a thing for many years now. That’s why I am still asking if maybe anyone has experienced that recently. I’m asking for a relative.

1. Combining bank statements or different funders is acceptable but i will personally not recommend it " my personal opinion not official"

2. You are not even combining clear financial statements but you are combining two financial documents from different entities. Anyways, if at all you want to tender or use the investment account let it be in your name.

PS: My intention with this thread is not precisely to educate, there are so many threads on Nairaland that already do justice to the US Study abroad topic. But if you are a good reader, I am sure you must have gotten some valid information here.

I thought to share my story, in hopes that it encourages someone who plans to pursue an undergraduate/graduate program abroad especially in the USA.

Be strategic, start early, and have faith in God!

It's December 2022, and I have successfully completed my first semester.

It has been new, crazy (good crazy), and different. The educational system abroad is very different. Everything here is different. The opportunities I have enjoyed so far and the US system leaves me with a number of culture shocks.

It's like starting all over again, or being given a second chance to make your life what you want from it in a system that is supportive and cares about your growth.

All in all, I am happy I made the move. I am so grateful to God because honestly if it were based on my grades, or whatever else. I wouldn't be here. Which makes it a testimony!
