Gaia Guarnotta, 25, described in a Facebook Post how she was walking alone through Florence, Tuscany, northern Italy, at around 11:30 pm when she was approached by a group of 'drunk men'.

The 25-year-old said the men began by joking and asking for a selfie before their behaviour became violent.

"At some point, I can't even explain how they surrounded me, but they started saying phrases like 'come with us, we'll show you a good time, 25 against one is a good night, we'll have a Bleep , we'll make you enjoy it'," she said.

When she rejected their offer they called her a 'stupid bitch' and a 'LovePeddler'. They then began dragging her by the arm.

"They chucked their drinks and straws over me and one of them, or maybe a couple of them, spat on me or tried to spit on me, while all the others were filming on their mobile phones," she continued.

Rose seller Houssein Alamgir noticed the commotion and came to her aid, chasing all 25 men away.

Mr Alamgir, 58, originally from Bangladesh, has lived in Italy since 2005, according to Diretta News.

He chased the men away, took the woman to a safe place and fed her.

Houssein also provided her with towels so that she could wash, and gave her a rose as a present.

"If Houssein had not been there that evening, I would not have been able to tell my story now," she wrote. "Not knowing how to thank him, I gave him a passport photo of mine so that he could remember forever the face of the girl he saved that night."

She shared the story as she wanted to demonstrate the importance of feminism.

"The media says foreigners are evil, that misogyny doesn't exist, that men and women are equal, that they have the same rights and freedom, but we know it is not like this," she wrote.

Manchester United are currently struggling to keep Marouane Fellaini at the club after the Belgian rejected the Club's opening contract offer.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and United have already triggered a 12-month extension in his contract .

The towering Belgian has thrived under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and has got his career back on track after a stagnant year under Louis van Gaal.

The former Everton man is happy at Old Trafford but he's minded that this will likely be his last big contract in football and he has offers from Turkey.

The Belgian's representatives are in talks with United officials but they're believed to have turned down the club's opening offer, according to The Telegraph.

United remain confident they will eventually make a breakthrough but they are likely to have to speed up talks given Fellaini is free to sign pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January.

Maikanti Baru, the General Managing Director of NNPC, has emerged as the chairman, advisory board, of Nigerian Gas Association (NGA).



The board was inaugurated on Tuesday, October 27, during an executive gas round-table for chief executives and directors levels of the oil and gas companies meeting in Lagos.



In his remarks, the GMD commended the NGA for its contribution to gas sector development through advocacy.



Baru said that the advisory board will add to the development of the gas industry.



He said that the federal government has mandated aggressive gas policy to stimulate growth of gas sector, while assuring stakeholders of his commitment to the objectives of the board.



The president of NGA, Dada Thomas, stressed the importance of gas in economic development in Nigeria.
"For Nigerian economy to achieve its full potential, there must be power, to get power we need gas, to get gas, we need much needed investment to develop the gas sector.
Without appropriate fiscal policy on gas, there can never be investments in the sector.
We must diversify the Nigerian economy and gas has a crucial role to play, so, we must promote investment in gas sector.
We must ensure that we pass a good petroleum industry bill that will promote and expand the industry and not shrink it," he said.



Thomas said a situation where gas investment are made in dollars, gas is sold in dollars but invoices are raised in naira at Central Bank of Nigeria exchange rate which will reduce the invoice value, is unacceptable.

Meanwhile, a recent media report indicates that the presidency has initiated moves to ensure the Baru is not indicted by the Senate ad hoc committee charged with investigating him for awarding contracts to the tune of $25 billion without recourse to the NNPC board of directors.



The nine-man committee chaired by Senator Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto, APC) is charged with investigating Baru over the allegations raised against him by Kachikwu.



Kachikwu's leaked memo to President Buhari accused Baru of insubordination and keeping the NNPC board chaired by Kachikwu in the dark in the award of contracts and promotion of senior executives of NNPC.

Lupita Nyong'o is the latest in a long list of women to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment - claiming he tried to UnCloth in front of her, and once told her that to be in the business she had to be 'willing to do this kind of thing.'



Nyong'o wrote about her experiences with Weinstein in The New York Times.



She wrote:
I met Harvey Weinstein in 2011 at an awards ceremony in Berlin, while I was still a student at the Yale School of Drama. An intermediary introduced him to me as “the most powerful producer in Hollywood.” As an aspiring actress, I was of course eager to meet people in the industry but cautious about strangers, and the intentions of men in general. So I tried to vet this famous producer by asking my dinner-table companions what they knew of him. A woman who was a producer herself cautiously advised me to “keep Harvey in your corner.” She said: “He is a good man to know in the business, but just be careful around him. He can be a bully.” And so I exchanged contacts with him in the hopes that I would be considered for one of his projects. I wanted to keep things professional, so I made a point of referring to him as “Mr. Weinstein.” But he insisted that I call him by his first name. In this first encounter, I found him to be very direct and authoritative, but also charming. He didn’t quite put me at ease, but he didn’t alarm me, either.
Not long after we met in Berlin, Harvey wrote to me inviting me to attend a screening of a film — a competitor’s film similar to one he had produced. He said we would be watching it with his family at his home in Westport, Conn., which was not far away from New Haven, where I was living at the time. He would send a car to pick me up. I accepted the invitation.
The driver and I met Harvey in the little town of Westport, where he informed me that we would be having lunch at a restaurant before getting to his home. I did not think much of this. It was a busy restaurant, and as soon as we sat down he ordered a vodka and diet soda for himself. I asked for a juice. Harvey was unimpressed with my choice and told the waiter to bring me a vodka and diet soda instead. I declined and said I wanted the juice. We went back and forth until finally he turned to the waiter and said, “Get her what I tell you to get her. I’m the one paying the bill.” I smiled and remained silent. The waiter left and returned with a vodka and diet soda for me. He placed it on the table beside my water. I drank the water. Harvey told me that I needed to drink the vodka and diet soda. I informed him that I would not.
“Why not?” I remember him asking. “Because I don’t like vodka, and I don’t like diet soda, and I don’t like them together,” I said. “You are going to drink that,” he insisted. I smiled again and said that I wouldn’t. He gave up and called me stubborn. I said, “I know.” And the meal proceeded without much further ado. In this second encounter with Harvey, I found him to be pushy and idiosyncratic more than anything.
We got to his home after lunch and I met his domestic staff and his young children. He took me on a brief tour of the house before he rounded us all up in the screening room to watch the film. He had just produced a similar film of his own, but everyone was raving about this rival version.
I settled in for the film, but about 15 minutes in, Harvey came for me, saying he wanted to show me something. I protested that I wanted to finish the film first, but he insisted I go with him, laying down the law as though I too was one of his children. I did not want another back-and-forth in front of his kids, so I complied and left the room with him. I explained that I really wanted to see the film. He said we’d go back shortly.
Harvey led me into a bedroom — his bedroom — and announced that he wanted to give me a massage. I thought he was joking at first. He was not. For the first time since I met him, I felt unsafe. I panicked a little and thought quickly to offer to give him one instead: It would allow me to be in control physically, to know exactly where his hands were at all times.
Part of our drama school curriculum at Yale included body work, using massage techniques on one another to understand the connection between body, mind and emotion, and so I felt I could rationalize giving him one and keep a semblance of professionalism in spite of the bizarre circumstance. He agreed to this and lay on the bed. I began to massage his back to buy myself time to figure out how to extricate myself from this undesirable situation. Before long he said he wanted to take off his pants. I told him not to do that and informed him that it would make me extremely uncomfortable. He got up anyway to do so and I headed for the door, saying that I was not at all comfortable with that. “If we’re not going to watch the film, I really should head back to school,” I said.
I opened the door and stood by the frame. He put his shirt on and again mentioned how stubborn I was. I agreed with an easy laugh, trying to get myself out of the situation safely. I was after all on his premises, and the members of his household, the potential witnesses, were all (strategically, it seems to me now) in a soundproof room.

It started with Ashley Judd.

The story that unearthed the first of what would become more than 40 accusations of sexual harassment, and in some cases assault, against movie star Harvey Weinstein, started with an account from Judd.



The actress told the story of an encounter that happened more than two decades ago, when she was in the midst of filming 1997's "Kiss the Girls."



Judd claimed that she went to the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel for a business breakfast meeting with Weinstein but once there, a bathrobe-clad Weinstein asked if he could give her a massage or she could watch him shower.



Judd went on say: "Women have been talking about Harvey amongst ourselves for a long time, and it's simply beyond time to have the conversation publicly."

A total of eight women made claims of sexual harassment in interviews. They wouldn't be the last.
After Judd became the first actor to go public with an accusation against Weinstein, she was joined by a chorus of others who believed a dialogue about the alleged harassment they faced by Weinstein was well overdue.



The exposure of Weinstein came just days later, and the accusations were even more implicating. Weinstein was actually accused of rape by multiple women.



One of the accusers, actress Asia Argento, confirmed her account thus:
"This is our truth."



A spokeswoman for Weinstein denied the rape allegations in a statement provided to the press.



"Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein," the statement read. "Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances."



Italian model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, actress Mira Sorvino, actress and producer Jessica Barth, French actress Emma de Caunes, and former aspiring actress Lucia Evans also gave their accounts in the New Yorker piece.



Gutierrez can be heard in an audio tape that accompanied the article, having an exchange with Weinstein in which he admits to groping her.



She wore a wire as part of a New York Police Department sting operation to investigate her allegations. The district attorney determined that he didn't have enough evidence to charge Weinstein.



On the same day, more big names came forward in a follow-up report from the Times, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, and Rosanna Arquette -- all telling similar stories of sexual harassment by the movie mogul.

Paltrow said it happened at a meeting that "ended with Mr. Weinstein placing his hands on her and suggesting they head to the bedroom for massages."



Paltrow said she refused Weinstein's alleged advances, immediately left, and told then boyfriend, actor Brad Pitt, about the incident. He later confronted the producer in a "heated" exchange.



French actress Judith Godrèche, once aspiring actress Katherine Kendall and costume designer Dawn Dunning, then an aspiring actress, also accused Weinstein of wrongdoing.



Still, they would not be the last.
In the days that followed, actresses Minka Kelly, Kate Beckinsale, and Cara Delevingne used social media to share the stories of their alleged encounters with Weinstein.



"No more Harvey Weinstein in Hollywood does not solve the problem," Kelly wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram, "but maybe the more voices sharing their stories and adding support to the countless women and men who have suffered through abuse of power, the less it will be tolerated."



Rose McGowan, who had been named in the first Times story, used social media to empower victims in the days following the report. Though she declined to give an official statement, the Times reported she had been among those with whom Weinstein had made settlements over the years.
On October 12, she detailed her accusation against Weinstein, identifying him only by his initials, on Twitter for the first time in a comment directed at Amazon's Jeff Bezos, whose studio head, Roy Price, had just been the target of an accusation of his own.



Screenwriter, Louisette Geiss, held a press conference alongside her attorney, Gloria Allred, to recall an incident at the Sundance Film Festival.



Actress Lysette Anthony told her story to the Times of London. She says he raped her in the 1980's.
London's Metropolitan Police are now investigating the accusation.



English actress-turned-screenwriter, Sophie Dix, told The Guardian about her alleged sexual assault, which she said left her traumatized, despite Weinstein's attempt to make amends later.



Actress Angie Everhart recounted to TMZ an incident that took place more than a decade ago at the Venice Film Festival.



To date, the accusations total more than 40 and span from 1980 to March 2015.

On Tuesday, Blac Chyna filed a lawsuit against the whole Kardashian family, blaming them for the demise of her E! reality TV show, Rob & Chyna.

In the lawsuit, Chyna says that the entire Kardashian family turned on her post-breakup with Rob, "slut-shaming her on social media and killing her hit television show" during filming for a second season.

The lawsuit states:
"Rob Kardashian is an abuser intent on destroying Angela White, the mother of his baby, who left him in 2016. In revenge, the Kardashian-Jenner family became media predators, slut shaming her in social media and killing her hit television show, which has already begun filming a second season. Rob Kardashian and his powerful vindictive family have done enough damage to Ms. White's career and professional reputation, which she singlehandedly built from scratch -- without the help of a famous last name. The lawsuit seeks to hold them accountable."



The move comes roughly two weeks, after her ex fiancé, Rob Kardashian, filed his own lawsuit accusing her of using him and his family for financial gain. He also claimed that it was a mutual decision by the E! network and the Kardashian family to cancel the show.



Chyna claims that her reality TV show, Rob & Chyna had 'stellar' reatings, and believed the show was going to be picked up for a second season despite the couple splitting up.

Samantha Ciotta, 32, has been charged with unlawful sex and oral copulation with a minor, a 14-year-old pupil at the California school where she worked as an English teacher.

The alleged victim is a 14-year-old boy who started at the school in 2015 after losing his mum and his dad was sent to the prison.

The 32-year-old, who was almost unclad was filmed in the video with the alleged victim and another male, both of whom were shirtless.

Samantha Ciotta began rendering extra help to the boy, a relative who became his guardian told patch.

She also bought him gifts including an iPhone, expensive shoes and speakers.

The student who saw the video on Snapchat messaged the boy, asked if the woman was Ciotta.

He replied: "Yes... Bro, I'm gettin' in deep... been f***ing (Ciotta) and getting threesomes for the past couple weeks (at her house)."

The student then informed Child Protective Services and Ciotta, a former teacher at Beaumont High School, was arrested.

After Ciotta was charged, her husband Scott filed for divorce and has left the family home with their two children.

Canadian model Catt Gallinger, 24, has lost her sight in one of her eyes after getting a sclera tattoo last month in her home town of Ottawa, a process that involves adding colour to the white of an eye via needle injection.

Catt said the first sign that something went wrong was when purple liquid began oozing from her eye.

She said that the decision to get a sclera tattoo was a ‘massive mistake’. “As it stands now I will have to see a specialist and am at risk of being blind if it doesn’t get corrected.”

Catt Gallinger told TIME that body modification was something she had interest in, and that some of her friends got the same sclera tattoo without any ill effects.

The billionaire entrepreneur, Elton Musk, has revealed proposals for one of his most ambitious projects to date - intercontinental rocket flights for passengers that will take only half an hour, or less.

He proposed that BFR, which stands for 'Big F****** Rocket' will be able to fly to most places on earth in less than 30 minutes, with the cost roughly equivalent to an economy flight on a passenger jet.

The reusable rockets would apparently have a maximum speed of 27,000km per hour (16,777 mph), although earth flights would travel at just over 7,000mph, allowing flights of thousands of miles in as little as 22 minutes ---how remarkable is that!

Musk also says that the rocket will be able to travel to Mars, and is due to be launched for the first time in 2022 before colonizing the planet from 2024.

SpaceX claimed that the rocket will be able to fly from Hong Kong to Singapore in 22 minutes, New York to London in 29 minutes, and Sydney to London in 51 minutes. They later added that the cost per seat should be about the same as full fare economy in an aircraft.

An animated video released by SpaceX shows passengers embarking on the rocket by taking boats to floating launchpads. Once in orbit, the spacecraft would split from its booster and vertically land on a launchpad in another city. By re-using rockets, Musk plans to dramatically bring down the cost of travel.

This means of travel would be, by far, the fastest..

Saudi Arabia said on Tuesday, that she will now allow women to drive for the first time from next June.

Saudi Arabia was the only country in the world to ban women from driving, and it was seen globally as a symbol of repression in the Gulf Kingdom.

Conservative clerics in Saudi Arabia, ruled according to Islamic sharia law have long opposed lifting the ban, arguing it would lead to promiscuity. One of them even claimed that driving would harm women's ovaries.

However, King Salman's decree, which takes effect next June is part of an ambitious reform push that runs the risk of a backlash from religious hardliners.

According to a major piece of research from world health organization, there are nearly 56 million abortions every year, all over the world and almost half of them are unsafe.
The highest levels of unsafe abortions were in Africa, where only about one in four cases are safe and as a result, abortion deaths/complications are high.

The study also found out that there were 55.7 million abortions every year between 2010 and 2014 worldwide, and of them, 17.1 million were unsafe because the women involved were taking pills alone or were with a medical practitioner but using a method of abortion that is no longer considered best for the practice. Such as using desperate and dangerous backstreet measures; from swallowing toxic substances to inserting wires in a bid to bring about a miscarriage.

Another study found out that there are fewer cases of abortions in places where abortions are safest, such as in northern Europe and northern America, where women can get contraceptives easily. The authors explain that most countries in those two regions "have less restrictive laws on abortion, high contraceptive use, high economic development, high levels of gender equality, and well developed health infrastructures".
